With my new computer (laptop) the "Quick reply" button acts as a "Quote" button, and opens a new window if I press both the right and left touchpad butons. Does anyone know how to fix this or why it happens?

Not sure what you mean by acting like a quote button; you mean that it does the same thing? If so...

Make sure this is unchecked.

About the opening the new window, I have no clue. Might try googling the problem and your Laptop, it might also be something with your browser or addons.

it brings me to the screen it would as if I pressed "Quote Reply"

That button is unchecked

Oh, I see what you mean. Umm... what browser / OS are you using? I'm not certain as to how the quick reply function completely works, since both the "Quote" and "Quick Reply" buttons link to the same page. If I had to guess, I'd say it's your browser not recognizing some difference.

Edit: Not sure if you noticed, but you misspelled "collar" in your sig.

Make sure you have scripts allowed. I used to have that problem when I was using NoScript. I think that's the problem. Just have scripts running and you'll be fine.

Uhh. There should be an S in the bottom right corner of the screen, right click it and allow southperry.net.

Are you even using NoScript? o_o

No. I just switched to FireFox at the request of friends and it works fine.

That's good to hear. The problem was probably the fact that you had scripts disabled in Internet Explorer. Just don't mess around with the security settings in Firefox and you'll be fine.
