Don't know if this is already posted, but it seems they fixed Meso Explosion, on top of that, the damage cap was increased

The following was 20 bags of 50k, the results are as shown, the money burnt, a few strikes (about 6~) cost 3m.
Now imagine Zakum... ha!

If I recall correctly, breaking the damage cap before = d/c. I guess that's what was fixed, unless I'm mistaken.

Wait, so lemme clear this up.
The thing that was fixed with Meso Esplosion was that it didn't disconnect you when breaking the damage cap?

You couldn't drop over 10k bags in Zakum or you would D/c.
Back in the old days, when CBs were needed for Zakum, me and my friends told the new CBs that came on the run to start dropping 15ks on 3rd body so it goes faster. The CB eventually d/cd and we got more money from drop splits. :D

That. Thing is, I think regardless of how fast you drop, with 4th job, they'd still be outdmged and it'd still cost more to make it practical in <most> scenarios.

What affects the damage? Number of bags and amount of each? Let's see if we can't break 200k. >:O

I'm assuming you weren't around when that was implemented.
Around late 2006 if i remember correctly, there was a hack that made it so you could drop anything and it would act as a 50k bag (people often just used single arrows). With maxed ME, this pretty much constantly breaks the damage cap. The fix for it was making it so that if you hit 100k you disconnect from the game. Before the fix, CBs broke the damage cap all the time for speed boss runs. Apples replaced them soon after the damage disconnection fix anyway though.
This was the reason why MMs got pineappleed over for over half a year. Besides, you only disconnected because you broke the damage cap, meaning that meso explosion always broke the damage cap. Even though they disconnected, they still broke the cap.

I was around for that actually, which is why I said it. I remember passing through sharks on my way to gobies to see tonnes of CB hackers dropping arrows.

Yeah, i remember a ton of CBs leveling faster than PG hackers. Like, 70-120+ in a few hours off sharks and gobies.
There was, but i only vaguely remember that because some chick on SW devoted a LOOOOT of time trying to figure out how it worked and figuring out that it doesn't count the last few bags. I really doubt it's been fixed, because ME still does relatively the same amount of damage as it did in the old days. Though this SS' damage is much higher than i remember it ever reaching, so maybe it has some other value in the formula that is dependent on the character level or something.

In the past, any number past 15 bags did not increase your damage despite the skill description saying you can explode up to 20 bags, and 14 or more 50k bags would disconnect you for breaking some sort of damage barrier. You could break 100k with ME without disconnecting, but there was some limit in place.

Ya, Shadowers outdamage CBs Meso Explosion now, No need for it. Only thing they use it for now is to drop before the boss is summoned, so you can deal out alot of damage in the first few seconds. Then they attack normally.

Ummm, are you nuts?
One bag of any number of mesos it weak compared to multiple stacks. Meso Explosion has it's own damage range, and it consist of how many bags of what mesos and what is the mastery.
The screenshot consist of multiple bags of 50ks. Some of the mesos seem to go to waste, maybe 30k is better, or so.

Not even sure if the dc cap was raised. I've been able to explode 50k bags before 4th w/o a dc. just zakum has dced me. Someone should go try at zak lols
