Amoria glitch?

I was on my way to APQ yesterday, and:

I jumped off the ladder, and weeeeee~ I respawned in the map shortly after that, though.

I've seen a vid of a Hermit Flash Jumping into the pillar and into the abyss.

I've done that for a loooong time... And flash jumped to the other side. Great time saver.
