Offtopic question- Does the Nexon staff really wake up at 11 at night, and stay up til 7 in the morning doing patches for us? And when they get extended for a full 24 hours, do they like rotate staff or something?

Some people had problems purchasing Name Changes and Server Transfers. They were labeled as being banned in the past three months. Well, after the patch, that seemed to have been fixed.

automated patching? No way, that's ridiculous. For one, the most glaring flaw in this is that the automated system wouldn't get times wrong and extend like crazy. Of course there's real people there, we've even been told that by Joe or Prose.

I mean they write up what files are changed and how beforehand, then run a program that does that.
All they'd have to do to screw up the time and extend it is poor coding. :/

Well, that's how Odin Source does it, I can only assume Nexon has something similar.

Oh, it sounded like you were trying to say they just start the patching process and then all go home and leave it running all night unmonitored. In that case, yeah they use programs to make it. More than likely they have all the patch files ready before it even begins (as many times they've uploaded them early) but most of what they spend during the patch down time is changing server-side things.

The patch was only like, 3k KB in size.
It was mainly for fixing the hacking attempt error but people are still getting it. :\

They play Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide who has to bring the bag of coffee. Then they sit around in a circle deciding what nx to bring out next.
