What is a pre-patcher? Something that allows you to log on the moment a patch ends?

It basically a file someone (like Fiel) makes that you download lets you patch manually before nexon will let you, so you can be all patched before the serveres open and you don't have to autopatch at that time while most others are, and you can get online right away.

the process that fiel uses is almost the same as the auto patcher/manual patcher he downloads the files from the nexon download server and makes a manual patcher from it

essentially he just makes a manual patcher prior to the auto patcher (patcher.exe) is connected to the maplestory ip (the ip address that the client connects to)
