As implied in the name of the thread (inspired by the "How was your day?" thread in the Speakeasy), this is a place to post about your day in LoL!

This thread is for anything other than the topics covered by those threads, such as random thoughts while playing LoL, random events you saw in LoL, basically anything relating to LoL on a daily basis!

I'll start off:

Yesterday, I attended a tourney hosted by my LoL club at my university as part of a gaming convention held over the weekend (geeks galore!). While my team didn't do so well (for the record, I wasn't committed to an organized team, and so I was thrown into a team composed of non-committed players. You can imagine how those games went, haha), I also got a couple of opportunity to shoutcast a few games for the audience. Oh man, it was rough at the beginning, but I was a bit more comfortable at of it the second time around. Though if I want to be serious about it, I'll have to more shoutcasting just to get the experience, as well as increase my knowledge of the game just to be good at it.

In other words: While shoutcasting isn't something that I would like to do on a serious basis in the future, it was fun while I did it, and got quite a bit of insight into the area of shoutcasting. xD

Changed my rune page around and added some mastery points, so now i have +13% Attack Speed. Played on Kog'Maw to try it out, reached 2.5 attacks per second (which i believe is the limit).
With Bio-Arcane barrage mastered and the Bloodrazor item built, every basic attack by Kog'Maw did normal damage, PLUS it takes away 10% of the opponents HP every hit. Yeah, so i was killing champions in around 3 seconds from far far away.
My kill count soared in that fight.

Also tried using Lux and Ezreal. Lux is so much fun, her abilities are amazing and fit my play style really well, and i fall in love with her ultimate again everytime i use it, it's just freaking "KAMEHAMEHA" and then your enemies are dead. it looks badass.
Found it a bit hard to get used to Ezreal, but i still did alright with him, his game sprite looks awesome too.

I also played on a 1v1 match vs a random friend on the twisted treeline map (the first time i've been on it). He used Cho Gath and i used Evelynn. being able to stealth made killing him easy, but i was still on the ropes a lot of the time because of his crowd control attacks, he broke through all the turrets on one side and destroyed my inhibitor in a few attempts, and i hadn't even scratched his first turret. I fought off the super minions until the inhibitor respawned, killed him, and then made one big push, destroying all his turrets, his inhibitor and his nexus in one go, winning the game.

It was freaking awesome.

Played some inhouse games with LoL U. In the last game, people recognized that I was the biggest gamechanger, so they banned Anivia (who I never played in an inhouse game). So I picked Kog'Maw just to spite them. Facerape commences.

Also, getting close to completing a new runepage to replace one that's been sitting useless for a while now.

I love it so when blind pick gifts me an enemy team with few interrupts as Katarina. I went around 17/3/12 in a game today with her completely carrying my team. Was also very interesting to lane against a blitzcrank mid. I could cs easily just being faster then him with shunpo but he gave me a lot of trouble later when he went extremely tanky and so fast with his W. Granted I already had like 6 kills then so the damage was done and I dominated the rest of the team fights. Almost had a penta too when they attempted baron but someone got my 4th kill :(. TL;DR: KATARINA IS AWSOME! :)

I've been hit point-blank with that thing while trapped by her binding and getting beaten up by someone else and I still wound up with like 1/3 health. In the lategame. On Malzahar.
Only really seems helpful in early/midgame when you can hit retreating/recalling enemies on mid.
Anyhow, this is more how my weekend was than how today was, but here goes:
Discovered that I do much better with Malz on regular random matches with people my level, but Rammus gives me more success when I'm against better people (noteably playing with Olsi and his friends).
Had a couple games where I went legendary+ (12/0/2 one game, 14/0/5 another) with no deaths until about 30 minutes in, when I started to go up against the other team's carry, who my team had fed more than I had been fed. Did not end up well. I also discovered that Warwick is amusing to play against on mid. As is Garen. As is Amumu. As is Janna. As is Xerath. As is Ziggs. Went godlike or better against all of them.
Oh, and Tryndamere is a fucking pain. I would love some help for how to counter or circumvent his Undying Rage bullshit. Preferrably for how to do it on a Malzahar.

My 1v1 combo (which uses all my actives lol) includes Ignite, and that didn't seem to help at all. Still had fun chasing him down after his Undying Rage had worn off and getting ganked, or just getting killed while I tried to run away from him while it was still going after my ult had finished. I guess I should stop using Malefic Visions on him before the ult and maybe going for Deathfire Grasp instead of Morello's. Of course that's only when I'm up against him. I figure Kog'Maw is similarly a bit of a bitch when he dies unless you have Flash.

(For the record: While I wish I waited until this week to buy the Jurassic Cho skin just for the discount, this is one of the few moments where I don't regret shelling out 975 RP for that skin. Especially when I insta-bought it when it was first released. The quality of the skin was definitely worth the money spent)

It's more that I'm using my suppress ult and getting him down to 0 HP in a 1v1 fight, then it ends and he is faster than me and kills me pretty quickly. This is usually in a situation where there's either a teamfight or a skirmish, Trynd gets down to low health and runs into the jungle, and I try to get the kill. He's not bad in teamfights when 1 person can just just use a hard CC and/or just let the tank distract him during his Undying Rage, but he's just a complete pain in 1v1 situations.

Basically every game I play has a weak lane. I don't have a ton of mobility as malz, and I solo mid with him so if I leave mid to deal with him, their carry gets more free time than is good for me to allow and then I have to deal with THAT.

Gank him a lot, then, when the time is good.

The best moment would be when you just hit 6. Ult him low with pool, then when 2 seconds after he starts ulting cast Ignite and Malefic Visions on him. If he's in a duo lane, he won't even have his ult.

If it is a 1 v 1 you pretty much do deserve to die anyways, since you shouldn't wander off anywhere alone without any visions. If you got caught by him, your loss.

You could also, if you're confident about versing Tryndamere, ask your top to switch with you. Some tops are decent at mid, and Malzadar should destroy Tryndamere in the lane.

So i played a game as Vayne, and we were in the enemies base after destroying their last inhibitor, one of them (a Poppy) tried to run away because she was one hit from dying, and she ran towards her spawn point, i was just about to catch her when the enemies Skarner used his impale move thingy to grab me and pull me into the enemy spawning area, making me get killed in one hit from the turret there.

I was seriously in awe, and i had to congratulate the guy for killing me in such an unconvential and AWESOME way.

Decided to try out Orianna because she seemed interesting, and wow, that is one difficult but rewarding champion.

She's difficult to use and i haven't mastered using her yet, but i'm having fun trying because her abilities are really interesting, even if i fail at them.
I especially like how i can attach The Ball to my teammates, have one of them run straight into a group of enemies and then i can activate my ultimate, it protects the ally, does crazy amounts of damage and groups them all together for even faster killing with my other abilities.

Also she's as creepy as hell, especially with the patchwork skin.

Played Dr Mundo (for the first time in FOREVER) up top today, and I was against Vlad. Such a bad matchup, mind you (with me being at a disadvantage). Then again, I had to just bear with it until I got some MR up (plus get some ganks). Then after a certain point, it was fun being tanky and just popping your ult to trolololol heal + escape your way out whenever I was split pushing. Though I had to be thankful because I was in a premade and a couple of my mates got fed, so that relieved some pressure off me.

I was about to build an Atmas (or a Warmogs), but my team pushed enemy base hard to the point that I didn't bother to go back and get it.

Brb, learning to play Dr. Mundo properly X_X.

(Also, its funny when I popped my ult later in the game and watch my HP5 go to 500+. Trolololol)

I've pulled 260-290+ HP5 - constant - on Cho with Baron buff + full build. Its great getting low after a brutal tanking session, farm some creeps + jungle creeps afterwards, and be back up again and ready to fight once more.

I got 51 Champs and 5 runes pages. I bought the two starter packs of champions so I've bought 11 on my own. One rune page with RP, 2 with IP. Funny thing is, I only play about 7 champions. I think Dr. Mundo is my next champion to become good with though.

shes overnerfed atm, cant manage against teemo
there are a LOT of champs that cant handle teemo, and youll find that often when you think you have a bad matchup its because your jungle ignores you (like they should really) and their jungle makes a couple kills on you and sends their top 2 levels ahead... and even then you can go even.

Shrooms alone make ganking Teemo difficult - free wards that last 10 minutes and damage/slow an incoming Jungler. Junglers tend to be pretty autoattack reliant as well, so his blind is particularly helpful there, and move quick gets him out of there before he's ever really in danger.

thats what happens when it goes right

when it goes wrong for me is pre-6 when the other person doesnt last hit well and the wave autopushes from me last hitting... and the jungler comes up, forces my flash, and comes back. then comes back again when i get back to lane.

post-6, sometimes a support/jungler will pop in with an oracle... then i feel really useless, specially if im behind or even.

when left alone to lane in a lot of matchups, teemo pretty much always takes a tower without his being touched. or steals buffs. or both.

Tried playing Vladimir, he's a lot of fun. Being able to sustain for so long is awesome, and i love how the build i'm using (Hextech Revolver --> Will of the Ancients) makes his healing so much better.

His ultimate is cool but i haven't had much chance to use it to it's fullest due to being matched with crap teams lately.

Backdoor Teemo OP. Thanks for the free 5v4 fights, buddy. Took a bit to convince the team to keep pushing instead of going to defend the turret - 2 turrets + inhib > 1 turret. Every time. Cass getting focused and caught out of position and blaming me constantly was funny as hell though, but never thanking me for flash+ulting Teemo/Vayne. Finally, I have discovered a great joy - Impaling Ahri just as she tries to ult away (dragging her right back to where she was + further back). It's an amazing feeling - I can't help but shout something like "Oh no you don't, bitch!"

Oh, and 4 autoattack-reliant champions? <3 Thornmail.

Ahem. MIA/SS is a luxury, not a right. it is a team game, yes - this means you need to be aware of what your teammates' lane status is and where their opponents are. It does not mean your teammates should be responsible for stopping to type something that your own eyes are capable of seeing without moving the camera away from your lane at all.

Riot support is so much better than Nexon support. I logged a ticket with Riot about the DCs yesterday afternoon, they got back to me in 8 hours with possible solutions and what information to give them in the event their solutions didn't work. I logged five tickets about being hacked and autobanned for using Dragon Blink last August. I have... 25, 37, 36, 36, and 36 emails respectively telling me how Nexon is continuing to experience a high ticket volume at this time and that I'm not forgotten. They send those emails once a week. Even if they sent them once an HOUR they'd be slower than Riot.

For a long time, I had a runepage called "I Hate LeBlanc", with AP for farming minions, MR up da ass, and HP.

Today, I was last pick on my team. I picked Anivia. Their last pick countered with LeBlanc. I succeeded in not feeding her in laning phase, and I used my farming powers to farm moar and push to the tower. Famished LeBlanc couldn't do enough damage to me, so I began to out-trade her, and caused her great misery.

But then she got a kill by ganking top. =(

Jangled twice today in a premade I was in. First game was with Amumu, and I basically led the way for the team. Second game, my premade begged me to go jungle once more (after seeing what I did last game, lol). Played Udyr for the second game.

But seriously, I feel like I spend too much time in the jangle nowadays. I need to jangle less and focus more on excelling in the top, AD (bot), and mid (AP) roles. I specialize way too much in the jangling role, and that feels so wrong. :f4:

first 2 were in mid, 1st time against Brand, second time against Katarina. In both matches i got 7-9 kills and died once or twice at most, the enemy surrendered both times.
3rd match i was up top with a Xin Zhao against Vayne and Fiddlesticks. I rocked that match too with 10 kills, and the enemy surrendered yet again.

I think we all know where you're coming from. But I'ma say that a Kat ulting under your turret when she's not fed is a very rare occurence and mostly accidental. Hell, I see Kats use it to harass in the middle of a lane more than anything. If they're fed though, the ult is usually to outright kill you.

I forgot to post this when it actually happened to me, but... why am I so bad at most melee champions ;_;?

I've been so pumped for Udyr free rotation, because Udyr's hardly ever on free rotation. If I recall correctly, it's been the only time in Season 2 that he's been free. He stood out to me as a pretty awesome champion who was incredibly strong without an ult and I loved the idea of his 4 stances- sounded like they'd make for some totally badass fights. After a couple of practice games as him, I gave myself a couple of games with friends who I thought would be able to win even if I sucked ass. And unfortunately, I sucked lots of ass.

1. Jungle Udyr- 0/7/7. I was leveling decently early in the game up until level 10 or so, when I start falling behind. I can probably attribute this to a few reasons- getting carried away with ganks, died a couple of times trying to save teammates or trying to turn around a seemingly failed fight by arriving. The only reason I was really of any use this game was my stun and putting lots of good wards for my team.
2. Jungle Udyr- 4/10/10. I get to level 3 and once I kill Red, Olaf comes out of the bush and jumps me. I run away because I know that it's a very likely losing fight because of Olaf's true damage and his slow and since my health is already fairly low from fighting Red, I try to run. I've never really been counterjungled like this before and it completely caught me out of nowhere. Olaf kills me and gets First Blood. Since none of the lanes seem to be in any trouble, I try to level up in my jungle- and there Olaf is again. He starts appearing in the lanes for ganks, and I try to come in and help my teammates once he's there. Though we did manage to take down his teammates, taking down Olaf was a pain- and he was really good at killing my teammates. Some of my attempts to help ended in me dying or me having to run away after watching my teammates die. Olaf got fed, and he was practically unkillable at some point, so we surrendered.
3. Lane Udyr- 1/8/12. Frustrated with my experience being counterjungled by Olaf, I try Lanedyr. I'm solo top against Garen and Olaf up top. I know not to get close to them and basically just hold my turret and try to rack up my CS as best as I can, since I know it's incredibly unsafe to harass. After my first death at level 4 or so, Jax offers to help, since bot wasn't going that badly. I help him get a good number of kills and things were kinda cool. I don't really remember much of the rest, but I remember trying to initiate for my team; and I'd try to run away if I was dying and it seemed like I wouldn't land a kill out of staying any longer. I can't describe it very well, but a friend who asked me to play with him for this game said that I was playing too scared and passive. After the whole game was done, he said, "Never play Udyr again :/"

I remember having a similar experience with Garen when I first started, only I was too bloodthirsty and that caused me to die a lot- and so got yelled at. A friend backed me up and gave me advice and we won the game, but I never played Garen again. Why do I suck at melee champs like Udyr and Garen ;_;? I don't seem to have too much of a problem with Leona, and it seems like I'll be pretty fine playing as Riven- but why? Why do I suck at melee champs so badly?

Played with varrus recently, his Q is interesting with smart cast since the moment you stop pressing the key the arrow will shoot, and his E with smart cast its a little weird due to that little delay it has.

Exploding blight was also kinda difficult since you need to hit with one of your skills and being my first time with him, didn't knew exactly the ranges and shit. And not to mention you need to Last hit like a boss with him so you can keep the passive up and running 24/7

i played him once and dont like him. he has an artificially high skill cap induced by having really long skill ranges (and long cooldowns) compared to his autoattack range. optimizing your damage requires you to wait to use abilities until after you sneak in a few attacks, which isnt fun imo. and without trying to optimize his damage, hes just a hybrid of mf and a more utility based ult. and mf is way easier to play.

plus his base attack speed feels terrible thanks to his passive (but it isnt actually bad). the passive is the only part i like about him.

waste of 6300 for me, except for arams :/

I played AD carry. I just simply played nice, ignored what they had to say, and reported them after. (The amount of rage they put out will definitely show up in the Tribunal, that's for sure). Though it makes my heart melt to see them throwing personal insults at me. My only thing to say to this is...."lol really? Are you really willing to resort to under-the-belt personal insults just to make yourself feel better? How sad"

Regardless, I will continue to play ranked and try to climb the ladder. These types of behavior motivates me to get better and get out of that ELO range.

My 1900 friend says there's very few ragers at his level. They start dropping off around 1500-1600

And I agree that the teammates should give you advice on what to do so you can improve next time. No one knows how to play this game perfectly as a team.

I played a few ranked games today. My ELO from 1197 went to 1100 today. I had feeders and leavers. The leavers were the feeders blaming the jungler because the jungler was helping the weakest lanes vs mid which was a strong counter to his opponent. My face when this happens again tonight.

y0y0y0y0shi0, you can't realistically stay out of range of skillshots as an AD carry. Skillshots generally outrange auto-attack range by anywhere between 100-600. The big tradeoff is that skillshots do not hit things reliably, and you can dance around minions to avoid most of them (not true in this case unfortunately).

Ashe's range is 600, so she's a little bit safer than the standard AD carry (550). In comparison, Leona's skillshot is 700 range, which is actually on the short end of the skillshot range spectrum. Her ultimate has a whopping 1200 range from center of champion to center of effect. Unless I plan on farming with Volley only (1200), you lose a lot in being paranoid about it and letting her zone you just because she might use it.

Usually in huge stomps I make friends with the other team for fun, either because I figure we're screwed and I might as well joke around or because I'm happy that we're gonna win, or I'm joking around with the person/people I'm laning against. I've made just as many friends who were on the other team as people who were on my team, I'd think.

Just played a game where my team lost pretty badly. However, I wasn't giving up yet, and willing to fight until the end.

Closer to the end of the game, I noted the opposing team heading to Baron. I grabbed Renekton to help me out, even though I knew it was going to mostly likely be a 2v4 effort. He went in, distracted them long enough for me to Smite steal Baron, and managed to pick up Volibear. However, Renekton was taken out, and I had to bounce before I got nailed next. I made a beeline to the base, encountered enemy Morgana from the fog of war at the same time Lux ulted, JUMPED the laser with flash, and got out with <200 HP. Made it back alive to the base.

I remember the all-tank + Heal/Fortify team composition that I went up against once way back (similar to the comp shown in the screenshot). If your all-tank team were able to hold out long enough, it was basically "tank all day, never let turrets die, never let yourself die, huehuehuehue".

Chalice is an item of self-reliant mana regeneration and laning longevity. It almost seems to me that it might not be as good as it seems though, since this item was apparently designed to give you a helping hand if you're losing. It does do that to an extent. But it's also a jack-of-all-trades sort of item for caster champions, and we know how that goes *cough*Nidalee*cough*.

I'd do have to admit though, it does show good promise after seeing today's performance, aside from the fact that I get vulnerable to ganks. (Alistar coming from behind? Kill Morgana.) In terms of numbers...

I think the main problem with this analysis is getting the gold for those items by level 6, but it's generally only going to get slightly better as you level up anyways. Nice. I get to 150 normal wins (cool) and then have 3 miserable games in a row - very likely the last ones I'll get to play before my ship leaves. I just wanted one more good game before then, but nope. The last one was particularly painful - enemy team had no jungler, Lee Sin and I were destroying top lane (I ganked three times, first was a double kill, second a kill, third a kill) but Kog'Maw was useless and we fell apart in team fights. Everyone would kindof mill about near the enemy tower forever, then run away when they got below 1/3 health instead of staying to fight it out. This kind of scattering effect cost us the early fights, which gave the enemy the momentum to snowball the later fights. Bad focusing, Lee kicking Katarina to safety, etc.

Trying to get better at enemy players movements i.e. Where they would go during certain situations + enemy jungler's movements/mindset

Today on the blue side 2nd top tower bush, there was an enemy teemo solo pushing the lane to the tower. Three of us went over and by the time we got there, he was gone. After we cleared the minions, my 2 teammates left but i knew teemo was stealthed inside that bush. I was playing teemo as well so I put a mushroom inside that bush. Just like I thought, the mushroom blew up. Enemy teemo didn't move so I planted 2 more mushrooms on him and they both boomed. He finally moved at 20% health and I easily killed him since he was poisoned/slowed from the mushrooms.

Felt so good.
