I don't have an SS of it but over a year ago, I got my red katana (95 att 5 STR) for like 1.2 mil. Strange enough, if I remember correctly, one 60% 1H sword attack scroll was about that much maybe a little less.

I put a few of my equips in MTS and came back a week or 2 later, and noticed that they were all sold.. :heart: I didn't even intend on them to sell.

Sold 15 attack SCG-200k NX
4/6 LUK PAC-80k NX
12 DEX Earrings-50k NX
17 LUK 2 DEX Red China Top-50k NX (I thought I would probably have a hard time finding another good LUK top with 2 DEX but.. I found another 17/2 Red China Top about 30 seconds later, for 20k NX cheaper.

Only it's not nearly 1.2b in scania, so care to explain how the pineapple that would work? Perhaps you could even read my post right above there. I've seen them for 875m and cheap all unsold.

By complete luck I found and bought a below-average Ele Wand 8 for a measly 230 million mesos. By below average I mean 147 ma att, 3 luk and 3 int. However, an average clean wand on my server goes for 500-550 mil, and before that I was using a 95 ma att 8 int black umbrella, so this was one hell of an upgrade. About 7 minutes after I bought it, my Alliance chat exploded as someone else came into the channel and found the store. Virtually everyone thought I got a good deal.

I now do 92k on skels so average or below average, I am not complaining.

@Dyxanije: Actually, about week ago, two or three marksmen were looking for Marksman Boost 30, and they were willing to pay a lot for it. That is also the first Marksman Boost I've seen since I got mine several months ago :f6:

I have my inventory open so you can see that I got the scrolls. The story is just another one of those double-take stories where you're in disbelief you found scrolls for 10-20m off the normal price and then snap out of your reverie in time to buy them when someone comes in the store.

You gotta be patient. It's like fishing. You have to wait a while for them to pop up. Then when they do, you have to be fast, cuz everyone goes for them. I guess most people don't have the patience to stay there for a long time, and then when they do, they don't have the reflexes to get them.

There are several ways a work glove can end up 221 nx.

1) They were mass scrolling and somehow the wrong work glove ended up selling for the wrong price. This usually happens when someone have 2~3 of the same colored work gloves, but when they were scrolled, some of them turned out like crap (such as a 2atk wg with 0 slots). Thinking that the (2atk wg) was being put for 221, the user accidentally put it the 8atk wg.

2) Stupidity reigns. My friends told me that some people who don't know how to use the MTS try cross server transferring by opening two computers, entering the item in for 110 nx, and then running over to the other computer to buy it hoping nobody'll notice. Needless to say, this doesn't work.

3) They're stupid and don't know prices.

4) They're quitting, and dumping it into MTS up for grabs is better than dropping in FM where hackers can loot your item using vac hack.

The best way to world transfer is to suck it up and pay the tax. Even paying 30K for the thing, it's only going to cost you 3K (10% tax), and you could just buy glove atk scrolls and wire it back to your original account.

Inspired by Harrisonized, I hit the MTS two days ago. I was just making chump change (you can see some of my other deals in the screenshot), getting amounts like 300-400 NX, when I found this:

I'd rather pay 50mil and not blow this one up than try to get another 18 stat 1 slot bottomwear... even if +5 of 6 70% happened without breaking, it would cost me at least 35mil including the cost of above avg. clean item. There's pretty much no chance of me getting that +5 on my next try.

Current "next best" is 10 stats, so I'd need +4 70% (50% chance of breaking it in 4 slots, 25% of all 4 working) to match my current pants.

I can't answer you cuz I don't play WoW, but on MS, it's really easy to check the price of an item using the Sale tab of MTS. What you're describing is more similar to the Auction tab of MTS, and that section is pretty much unused.

There's barely ever a fluctuation on the popular items. The less popular items fluctuate each day. As a rule, if you are not sure, do not go for it. One bad investment can screw up your profits. See that craven in my screenshot? That was a bad investment, because I was unable to resell for a better price. (If you're wondering, I got it for 760 but now it won't sell so the meso invested there would what I consider to be 'stagnant'.)

I'd be up for MTS merchanting if I don't have to wait for over 30-60 minutes for a 221 8 att WG to pop up or something like that, which is why I tend to stand in the FM Entrance ch 1 for an hour. It's nicer to have 50-100 trades within an hour than waiting for one thing.

MTS merching isn't all about getting the "big fish". It's just that I only post the better ones. Notice that there are like, 3 pages between each screenshot because I make somewhere between 20~30 transactions. Most of them are minor transactions, similar to your "50-100 trades within the hour", except that I don't have to make that many an hour. To answer you, the 8atk wgs popping up for 221 nx happen sporadically and if I miss, I probably won't get another one for that day. I can't really give you a "timer" on how often they pop up, but that's what makes it fun I guess, is the random wtp moments that sometimes happens.

I just checked. A clean Gaia is 3/18/22, so that's a total of 43 stats. 12/2/17/17 is a total of 48 stats. You need at least a +6 for a blue hue.

If you want to see it, it's at the moment, in Alcolix's shop at FM 3 CC 1 of Scania. I gave it to him to sell for me. It is indeed orange.

I go in at the most random times. Whenever I feel like it, I step in. I do not go look for 20 second deals, because they do not exist. I mentioned before that good items are gone 10 seconds after they're posted no?

I'd guess he spends it all having fun with different items, taking as an example his chaos scrolled HTP =D. Or when he was trying with face accessory scrolls on the maple leaf.

At the most random times, I pull NX out of the pool by:
A) Scrolling
B) Buying things for people on my buddy list (yes, they're free too)
C) Re-converting back to meso

The maple leaf didn't require accessory scrolls, although I did try scrolling Face HP I got out of MTS onto there and seeing the effects of the Maple Syrup on two stats instead of one.

The Chaos Scroll on HTP was more out of luck than profit. The first time, I got a Chaos Scroll from a box and could not resist using it. The second time, I found a (severely) underpriced GM scroll which I sold in order to buy chaos+white scroll (which totaled me 550m... should've waited eh?) and spent the other 400m scrolling overalls and earrings, which resulted in two 24INT black orientals, and a 9/16 strawberry earring. Unfortunately, those added up to a -80m in transaction, which meant that I only had 320m left (in items of course).

I could only re-sell the overall in MTS for 30K because I planned on using the earrings and the first overall, so I only got the equivalent of 120m in server. Then I wasted the 30K (from selling the second overall) scrolling stuff so now I'm broke again. That's how I spend money sporadically, impulsively, illogically, and randomly.

Recently though, I've been pulling things out of the pool and asking my friend to sell it for me. That's why you see more meso than NX in those few pictures. I'm considering reconverting back to NX for the ease of buy-sell.

Oh, and I also buy Owls and Item Tags. All my items are tagged, and I've actually sold off a few tagged items. Owls, I use at regular intervals, whenever I need a skillbook (siggy!!!), I reach for the owl. Sometimes I also owl for friends when they need to find something.

I was on last night (out of boredom) trying to snap up any cheap deals on MTS. Nothing good showed up for me.

I'll keep trying though since Im extremely motivated by your MTS transactions. :f3:

Edit: Found a good deal tonight - Shield atk 30% for 7,999,999. Now I know for Khaini ppl its 8-10m right now, but I'd be willing to take some time to get 1.5m+ profit. xD

No MTS deals though. :f4:

Hm, 2 attack 6 stat (Warrior/Bowman/Pirate) cape for roughly 17m. It's an okay deal, but I don't think you're going to make a profit off it.

2atk cleans are 1200 nx. The cost of scrolling that wouldn't make it worth that much.

I imagine that they were affected by the increase in bow scrolls demand due to Blue Metus dropping from the box event, so people also increased the price of crossbow scrolls.

LoLoLOL. You can't count it that way because when you try converting back... you lose the 10% tax. Which equates to 0 profit.

The only way you profit off that is if you resell in MTS for 400 (which is 540) and hope someone buys it, and really the only way you can truly profit off <100 profit deals is if you do that on a large scale (such as at night someone might dump in 10+ glove atk 60%s for 1200 ea) and then you reset it at 1272 ea making yourself a 720 nx profit when you wake up in the morning.

Think of it this way. You didn't get completely ripped off as you'd have something decent to use until you replace it.

There are much better MTSer's than me. Go look at Eowyn, BillyTheKid, iCsenger, and any other of those people with 100s of dollars worth of NX in their investments. I merely choose to publicize my better deals when I get them but honestly, I lose quite a few deals each day due to various reasons: not enough NX, not fast enough, not knowing prices...

And don't make the :f4: face, I'll be the one :f4:-ing when I have to pay back 170m in debts tomorrow, which will leave me with a low amount of NX and only a few mesos, meaning I start over from scratch. =/

The key word here is: fraudulent. Fraudulent pretty much means deceit. The point is that you didn't have to trick people to get good deals, they were just there.

Purposely telling someone the price is a lot cheaper (spamming in FM entrance and such) could be considered "scamming" I guess to some people. This however the person I assume made the price on his own.

Nope. He set the price. That's how much HE wanted for that item. All that person did was buy it.. He didn't lie to the seller about the price or anything.

Of course, I'd feel bad. However, I wouldn't misprice it anyways so it doesn't apply. Well at least you get 2mil out of it. One time I accidentally used a White Scroll on an item that blew up. :f7:
And mispricing isn't an excuse. That's why you go over all your prices before you open your store. And you shouldn't even be making those mistakes, even if it's one zero off, since the color will change. It's the person's fault for being too hasty in their pricing and not even noticing it. Everyone gets ripped off at least once in their Mapling career (I once sold an Earring LUK 30% for 5 mil), and it's not the buyer's responsibility.

That's the whole point of how money is MADE in this world. You display what you're selling for the prices you're willing to accept, and people buy them or they don't. It's not like eBay goes around paying people when they buy, say, a brand-new Nintendo DS game for $10 cheaper than it is at Wal-Mart. That's why in any basic consumer education class, students are taught in invaluable rule of comparative shopping: don't buy something until you're sure it's the cheapest you can get it for. If GameStop sells a new Nintendo DS game for $35 and Wal-Mart is selling it for $40, they're not going to give you back $5 because you bought it there. Granted, they do price comparisons (aka if you bring proof that GameStop is selling for $35, they'll sell to you for $35), but they only do that if you ASK them too.

In other words, it's up to the consumer. Ever heard of the Consumer Bill of Rights? It lists both rules that vendors must abide by as well as consumers, and when you boil it down to basic buying and selling, so long as the vendor is following these rules they can do whatever they want. It's up to the consumer to know their rights and keep them in mind when purchasing items.

Honestly, it all comes down to the thing so many seem to hate to do: RESEARCH. Both in real life and in Maple, research is the only way you can save yourself from losing money by selling something for less than it's worth or buying something for more than it's worth.

I've ripped people off before (if an item is cheap in the FM or they drop traded it, I'm not gonna leave it), if they ask for the item back I return it. It's not that difficult.
Eh? Nobody asks for things back. That's why I even use the MTS, cuz it's pretty much anonymous.

When people trade me and offer items below their sale value, I agree and then pay the full price after they accept the trade. It may not be as profitable, but it makes me feel a lot better about my moral standards.
As FrozNlite said, that's not profit at all. That's just a bs way of spending your money.

The only real way to make money in this game is to invest. Otherwise, you're just another worker, and thus, you will remain a worker, until your brain somehow evolves through Lamarck's Principles.

Well, when I say "market value" I mean what I wanted to pay. If I toss it in my store for 50% higher and someone buys it, that's their choice. I'm usually better off selling it in that situation, cause the price I want to pay is generally near the minimum of what I can find them in the FM for, and I can just go out and buy more.

That said, most of what I buy is for personal use and doesn't get resold until I'm not using it anymore (ie. excess scrolls, obselete gear), so it's not bought with profit in mind. If I sell it for half what I buy it for, I'm happy.

Fair trade is not BS :goggle: It's not ok to rip people off because they're at a disadvantage to you (new to the game, can't find buyers, etc.) If you know what something is worth, tell them.

What's wrong with working for money and actually producing it? All marketers do is shuffle the money around and make sure that there are no good deals for people who need them. When I hunt and get drops, or do PQs and get rewards, I add value to the game.

I view everyone as equals. Everyone has the brain and the resources. Nobody's truly at a disadvantage in FM or in MTS, because level and power of your character doesn't apply in the market. As I had already said, there's no excuse for ignorance.

If they can't find buyers, it's natural that they lower the price. That's how supply-demand economics works. When the demand becomes low, so does the price.

Let's say this:
You graduate from college and become a 9-5 (8 hour) worker.
You get x amount of money on your paycheck monthly and you spend y amount of money per month.
Over time, you accumulate money n(x-y), where n is the time that elapsed.

No matter how great your n(x-y) is, you will stay as a person in the 9-5 working class, until your n(x-y) is enough for retirement, and then when you outlive your accumulated n(x-y), you will be bankrupt.

The only way you will get beyond what you can earn is to invest. You don't necessarily have to scam people to invest.

No. Most of the items have a very defined value attached to them. There's only so much variation because people hope to make higher profits.

Imagine this:
A row of glove atks, 18 of them for 5m.
The next best is 5.3m.

The seller knows that the 18 glove atks WILL sell. Then his will become the "cheapest" price and thus the definition until someone else puts for 5m or people just don't buy for 5.3m.

You're not seeing the total picture.

Situation 1: one person has a 4atk cape. The price is set at 100m for that cape.
Situation 2: ten people acquired 4atk capes. Thus, one person, wanting to sell his cape, has to reprice his cape to 95m, and the next one to 90m, and so on until it's been accepted by the general public that x mil is the price.

And, the total value of the items in the game does not increase. In fact, it decreases because of the tax attached to trades. Also, if values only increase, there would be no balance and we'd have a huge abundance of items in our market. That's why the dark scrolls were such good Nexon creations to control the economy.

If you're annoyed at why the overall int 60%s are so high in price right now, blame Nexon for making it rarer than other scrolls, because as of now, the supply is quite low because of people USING them, not repricing them.

No, the supply is decreasing. If the supply were increasing, then that would lower prices.

That's not sustainable simply because repricing to 40m isn't realistic and people won't buy them. If you're trying to inflate the market like that, the most you can get is a couple of mil before people just stop buying and you lose out.
