HOLY SHI'T THIS GAME IS SO GOOD. LIKE REALLY GOOD.
It's been ten years since a Fallout game was released, and the motherf'uckers who work on Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, which got game of the year/best graphics/best gameplay/best RPG/best everything else, made this game as well.

"Fallout 3 takes place in a post-apocalyptic United States in the year 2277. The player character is a member of Vault 101, a fallout shelter serving Washington, D.C. The player character lives with his/her widower father until, one day, the player wakes up finding that the father has left the vault and ventured into the wasteland for unknown reasons. The vault overseer becomes suspicious that the player had something to do with the father's disappearance, and the character decides to go out into the Capital Wasteland in search of him."

This game is the next big RPG. I've never been so drawn in to a game since Oblivion back in like 2004. There's so much to do, the world is so gigantic, the combat system is so unique. You know what I love about it, though? It's the kind of game where you don't even have to give a f'uck about the main story until whenever you feel like it. Seriously, the way things lock together, it's hard to tell what's a part of the story and what's just a little side quest. Some side quests take hours, and are full of action and all the other good shi't.

I needed a game that would keep me occupied until Christmas (Since I don't want to spend money on Gears of War 2, CoD, etc), and this game is definitely going to do the job.

What do you guys think?

Game looks good but I'm rather weary...

I thought the Oblivion was a flaming turd because I'm the type of player that always wants to do everything. As such, I never even really started the main quest of Oblivion before I got bored with it and never played it again...

Not sure if I want to test this one out or not. On one hand, Fallout 1 & 2 were both fantastic. On the other, this looks like Oblivion with guns... :-/

Mark's just jealous because he's stuck with the Wii's horrible lineup of games, and faggot-ass Reggie. He's well aware of Xbox's little Christmas lineup, and he'd suck a dick if Nintendo provided a fourth of what Microsoft is giving good ol' 360 owners.

Poor guy.. It's okay, Mark. I'll be sure to tell you just how good the new Banjo Kazooie is, once it releases.

And you should read a review or something, pat. Lots of people thought it "looked" like Oblivion with guns, and you're right. It does look like it. But it's not; an in depth review or maybe some gameplay videos could help make it clear.

I'm still waiting on "real" reviews from the game... It hasn't been out long enough to judge yet, since all you can get is biased things like gamespot or ign. It's not like I'm in a rush either way; still working on my other RPGs and Last Remnant is coming out in a little under 3 weeks.

I still lol at the 10s for GTA4...

Lulz. I laughed. xD

I got Fallout 3 the day it came out (well... it was shipped to me), and it does bare a huge resemblance to Oblivion... but at the same time - it's quite different.

I love the whole barren feel it has to it. Once you step out of Vault 101... you just see how deserted the DC area really is. I was really iffy about the whole using Guns in an RPG themed game... but it turned out being really good. The V.A.T.S system is pretty entertaining.

Honestly, I'm trying to keep from being a biased person... but so far - this game is quite amazing. ;o

If you liked Fallout 3, you should try 1 and 2 ^__^

Its really more the other way around. You want to try 3 if you liked 1 and 2. I know a few people that played 2 after 3, and didn't really like it. Damn graphics whores.

On a side note, I'm over 30 hours into the game and have just found Rivet City. Dear lord my soul is forfeit.
