well I just got my new computer that I bought JUST to go to zakum and it turns out vista64 bit is glitched when it comes to the 3rd body. Right when the 3rd body died, maplestory closed down and it gave an error message. Vista is pretty much the only thing available in the market nowadays, I was wondering if any of you guys have any input on how to fix this?
my friend said something about alt tab esc or changing graphics options before the 3rd body.
specs are:
2.4 core2quad
6 gigs ram
650gig harddrive
BFG nVidia 6600GT OC

If you alt+tab at any point during the Zak battle before 3rd body, you won't disconnect at the end. I usually did it during 1st body, but it doesn't matter. Changing the graphics during the battle has the same effect, though I personally feel the alt+tab method works best (it's never failed me).
Playing in Window mode also prevents the glitch from happening at all. I don't have to alt+tab at all if I play in WM (which I have ever since it came out). Be aware that this Vista glitch also exists in HT.
I've heard people say that once you get Vista SP1, the glitch goes away. But that is false (for me, at least), as I've always had this problem. It's not a big deal, but it is pretty dumb.

No, it's 32bit. I guess the WM fix does not work in 64bit then. I didn't know about that. If the alt+tab fix doesn't work for you, then I really have no idea what you're supposed to do to counter it. Give it a try.

yeah, my friend also has 32bit, and it works fine. she doesn't even have to do any of the above. i guess it's just this new 64bit thing. any idea how to downgrade to 32bit xp? when i put the xp cd and boot the setup, it doesnt detect the harddrive to install XP on.
well actually going back to 32bit would mean i can't use my 6 gigs ram..
guess i'm going to have to hope that the alt tab trick works next run.

can you get into specifics about the high low high trick? high during arms? low during body? high during body 3?

I realize it's an old(ish) thread but it wasn't answered.
I'm using Vista 64-Bit and I've never tried doing Zak or anything without doing the graphics trick, so I don't know if it's a solution or if I don't have a problem.... but;
What I do is start the fight on high graphics (How I always play) and then when it gets to the last arm I just switch it to low graphics. I don't D/C or lag at all.

=O
I learned something new today xD
Anyways, OP, is it possible to lower the graphics card setting down to 32-bit, or is that a no go?
I have a 32-bit, with crap system specs and such. Alt-Tab d/cs me due to the load of the battle, so I have to resort to in-game graphics settings to ride out the glitch (just one change from arms to body seems to work good enough).

You mean the fact that Menu opens when you press Esc.? If so that is kinda sad no offense :\

More like you could manipulate graphics using arrow keys >_> Did you know about that bit?

32bit and 64 bit are two different things. There isn't a way to "lower" down to 32bit when it is programmed to use 64bit processes.
32bit is defined as: 32-bit integers, memory addresses, or other data units are those that are at most 32 bits (4 octets) wide.
64 is defined as: 64-bit integers, memory addresses, or other data units are those that are at most 64 bits (8 octets) wide.
It's just a rocky transition right now because the 32bit standard is slowly becoming outdated. (alot of people still have 32bit computers, and a majority of programs are still 32bit - like Maplestory) With 32bit, we're limited to only 3.5 gigs of ram and 2 terabytes of harddrive space. Emulation or compatibility mode can only do so much. An example of this is the XBOX360. You know that not all games for the original xbox work since they both use completely different architectures of programming.
anyways, I downgraded the operating system to windows xp sp3 32bit and I have no problems with any of my programs now.
Vista is a buggy OS in itself, and even after the addition of sp1, it still is. I don't think I'll ever go back to it.
The only thing you would need Vista for that you couldn't do in XP would probably be the viewing of HD content, that's because of the copy protections set by the movie industry.

Why the fak do you need to fking explain to yourself what the diff of 32 and 64bit is?

you do realize that not everyone is tech savvy like yourself. I was simply explaining why it isn't possible lower down to 32bit if the operating system itself is 64bit.
Not sure what this 32 and 64bit thing is, but I change Picture Quality right after entering the Altar and I have no problems afterward.

You started this thread asking for help with the zakum glitch with Vista. People provided you with the fix. Then you come back here a month later posting wrong information about 32 and 64 bit operating systems when no one asked for them at all. If you want to inform people, make a new thread. It's obvious you are just posting for the sake of posting. You resurrected ~10 dead threads today with borderline useless stuff.

Make sure the type of battery usage is on High Preformance. Any other settings usually disconnected me.
