Well what can I say? I remember playing some of these games namely these below:

GBA
A Link to the Past
The Minish Cap

N64
Ocarina of Time
The Majoras Mask

The GBA games to my opinion is kinda boring but the N64 games (Yes I know its old but I still like it) are more interesting.
Out of all the Zelda games I've played, I liked Ocarina of Time best coz the dungeons in the game are more challenging whereas in The Majoras Mask, it's not as good as the first one.
Some of you might be thinking that "The Twilight Princess" and "The Phantom Hourglass" is much better than OoT and I agree with you, only that I dont have Wii to play these games =(. I don't have gamecube either to play "The Wind Waker"

Discuss below which of the games you enjoyed the best and which dungeon you liked (or hated).

Ohhh... Zelda. One of the best series of all time.

The first one I ever played was A Link To The Past. Because of the nostalgia that game brings - I consider it one of my favorite Zelda games. Honesty though, to me - it's hard to pick a favorite out of the ones that I've played. They're all great and unique in their own way. A Link To The Past, Link's Awakening, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and even the very first Zelda. Ohh... I should go back and play these all over again. :f2:

Edit: I have to say though - The Water Temple in OoT... can kiss my ass. >_> That's the only part in ANY of the Zelda games that I dread getting to. >_>

lol, I seriously dont see how Water Temple is hard O_O. Everyone complains about this dungeon for some reason. I didnt find it too confusing or difficult in any way. The Miniboss and the boss are gotta be the biggest joke in OoT. Shadow link gets owned easily with the hammer and Morpha cannot touch me =P. The only hard part I could think of was the whirlpool room after the miniboss.
Other than that I considered Shadow Temple the hardest temple due to the fact it's confusing to my opinion. And believe it or not but I had trouble with the deku tree (yes the first dungeon) coz I'm arachnaphobic to Skulltulas and Gohmas (oh god I hate em :f4:).

Other than that, a link to the past was easy except for the Dark Palace dungeon and figuring out a way to get to Misery Mire =\.

I always found the Water Temple very annoying. It wasn't hard, but it annoyed the hell out of me. I loved the Shadow Temple because I would always be afraid that I'd get sucked up by a random shadow-hand.

I remember after killing Gannondorf, when he transforms to Ganon. I grew a strong dislike for the timed chase down the tower. >_>

I should go play this again. =o

Hehe, I think it's like how Truly explained it. It's not hard... just really... really annoying. It's been a few years since I've played the game - so my memory could just be rusty, or I could have just been really stupid back then. xP

I hated the Shadow temple, its so confusing without a guide and those shadowhands, skulltulas dropping from the ceiling and the guilliotines are freaky .
I actually got stuck in forest temple once (sad I know but true) coz I was missing this key which happened to be in the first room up on a ledge all along...

I own and have played all the games in the series (Except for those wretched CDi games) and I'll never get bored of it.

One of the best game series ever.

The new Zelda games will never be better than OOT, and there's statistics that smack any opinions that say otherwise. Zelda was a great series, and I played all games up to The Wind Waker. I remember the three year's worth of hype for Twilight Princess, but when I saw how it really turned out, I was completely demotivated in buying a Wii for a game that I didn't think would match up to the previous titles on the GC and N64.

I personally enjoyed Majora's Mask more than I did OOT. I was kinda ticked at first because you couldn't be an adult link, and I loved being adult link in OOT, but eventually I got over it and loved how the whole 3-day system made it a lot more of a challenge. When I played it four or so years ago, I couldn't be assed to get all of the masks because I wasn't patient enough, and didn't want to use a guide..

I still have urges to play it nowadays, but I don't have an N64 anymore. :(
Worst decision I ever made.

Statistics? Lmao, no, there are people drenched in nostalgia, too ignorant to see the number of improvements in twilight princess that make it clearly better than ocarina of time.

I will have to kindly disagree. I'm a HUGE LoZ fan, and I've played every game besides the LOL ones Opeth mentioned and a few of the handheld ones (I don't own a DS).

Twilight Princess is an incredible game and probably gave me the most fun I've had playing a console game in YEARS. It truly is a game that everyone with ANY respect/love for games should play. However, despite its obvious improvements on OoT (graphics, etc), I still believe Ocarina of Time is the best LoZ ever made (overall). Some of the MAJOR things I feel OoT holds the title of "Best" in:

- Best story in the series
- Best bosses
- Best Temples/Dungeons (puzzle, layout and enemy wise)
- Best items/weapons
> I'll admit, this one is a tough category to decide. TP's item/weapon set is a very close second.

Obviously, I would award many of the "Bests" to Twilight Princess, as well. But I just can't say it's better than Ocarina of Time. That game is as close to perfection (especially considering when it was made) as you can get. I always go into every LoZ equally and very open-minded. In my eyes, they are all top-quality, beautifully made games - that I've replayed several times apiece.

I'm not ignorant, nor am I drenched in nostalgia. Maybe that is the case with a great deal of people (sadly), but I'm sure even more people feel the same way I do about OoT and would agree or provide even better support.

@ Greg, you are missing out on one of the best LoZ games by not playing TP. You really will regret it.

I've seen a bit of the Twilight Princess and I LOVED that game, look as good as Ocarina of Time =3. Majoras Mask suffice to say isn't as good as Oot coz I reckon it's too short and the dungeons were too easy and original.

If I were to rank the 3-D Zeldas it would go something like this:

1. Majora's Mask
2. Ocarina of Time
3. Twilight Princess
4. Wind Waker

Now before you tear my head off in a fit of fanboy rage, let me explain. The reason Twilight Princess is so low on the list is because of one thing: Wolf Transformation. It really put me off having to run around and explore things as a wolf so early on in the game and especially since I wasn't able to control when I wanted to transform until HALF-WAY through. When TP was first announced I was secretly hoping it had some sort of connection to Majora's Mask, much like how Windwaker had the connection to Ocarina of Time. But instead I got Furry fodder and an Imp sidekick. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but it has a lot of flaws.

Majora's Mask and OoT, were both released on the N64. Both were great games, but I have a strange infatuation with MM over OoT. The whole game gives you a sense of impending doom, not just from the menacing moon hanging over head, but the Townsfolk and other people in the outskirts of the Clock Town change as the days go on. (Especially Romani Ranch. Poor girls.) One change that sticks out to me is the Swordsman Trainer. He acts all confident and says he'll "cut the moon into shreds" at first, but when you visit him on the night of the final day you can find him cowering in his storage room waiting for his demise. (Yikes.) The game is side-quest heavy and it's not a bad thing. You get a Notebook to track your clients and progress. You also get to do one of the best side-quests in the Zelda series; reuniting two lovers who were seperated thanks to the Skullkid's mischief, so they can get married just before the moon vaporizes them. *Sheds a manly tear.*

Anyway, I realize MM had transformations too, but it wasn't as random as the Wolf seemed to be. Early on in the game you learn a song that can take tortured souls and "heal them" into the form of Masks to be worn. When you put on these masks you'll be able to change into the person you healed and be able to use his special skills. It was a lot more well done than TP and actually made underwater and land travel FUN. (Zora and Goron Mask FTW.) Aside from transformation masks, you can also collect 17 other masks that you can use to interact with people, or help with survival. (Stone Mask renders you invisible to enemies.) I'll admit OoT had better dungeons and bosses, but you can't beat Goht. Rolling around as a Goron with spikes sticking out everywhere and chasing that mechanical POS just to ram him in his ass was good stuff. The atmosphere belongs to MM however. Walking into Ikana Canyon for the first time sent chills down my little kid spine. Anyway, I can go on about this game forever, but hopefully you see why I liked it a bit more than OoT.

As for Wind Waker it had a nice art direction going for it, unfortunately most of the fanbase didn't agree with me. It was also quite short and only had 5 or 6 dungeons. (I don't remember.) Sailing also got kinda tedious until you can warp around the ocean using the cyclones. Also don't even get me started on the shattered Tri-force fetch quest. It did have A LOT of areas to explore, and would seem like a daunting task to 100% this game, (and it is. I still haven't collected everything.) but it did have one of the best Ganondorf fights. It's arguably one of the weaker 3-D Zeldas, but most people would disagree with me.

So yeah, that's my thoughts.

Majora's Mask wins hands down as the best sidequest LoZ game. Period. It has way more side/prerequisite things to do than actual dungeon + bossing. MM has great dungeons, don't get wrong. However, it has four... Are you serious? :/ It was just far too little for me. But it's an absolutely amazing game and probably has more memorable scenes and characters than any other.

Wind Waker's dungeons/temples + bosses are far too easy. I know LoZ games definitely aren't known for having difficult bosses, but come on... WW's are pussies. I like when at least one dungeon/temple/boss can give me a "FFFFFFFFFF WHAT DO I DO?" moment. WW just didn't do that for me. I prefer the traditional graphics, but I don't understand why everyone hated on WW's so much. They are beautiful and worked very, very well with LoZ. I had no problems with them. The biggest thing I disliked about WW was that it didn't have the EPIC boss name appear before the battle started. It felt empty and gay and stupid. WTH? I'm serious. Nothing made me rage more about WW than that. All of that being said, though, I loved WW just as much as any other LoZ, and it gave me many great and enjoyable times.

Twilight Princess was a little too bogged down by the whole Wolf deal, but it's not so bad. TP's flaws are vastly outweighed by its HECK YES's. Being an uber sexy adult Link the entire game is godly win. The graphics are what I've been waiting for since OoT came out. All of the random fun things in the game are simply frickin' amazing (boating down a raging river? navigating a dangerous ravine on a dragon-like creature? racing against a giant Yeti on a slab of ice? HECK YES). And let's not forget the insanely epic boss battles. They haven't been this good since OoT. Sadly, though, they suffer from WW-syndrome and are seemingly easier than they used to be. :/ TP has amazing dungeons/temples, which made me insanely happy. Also, BALL AND CHAIN. No more needs to be said.

I haven't played a LoZ game that I didn't fall completely in love with, honestly. I could say a great number of bad things and good things about each and every one that I've played. Some shine more than others in certain aspects, but none of them have been bad - by any means.

I've played the GameBoy Color Zelda games, the red one, forgot the name of it.. Something with seasons and what-not. I've played the NES Zelda games, and the N64 Majora's Mask, as well as the GC-version of Ocarina of Time.

My favorite? Majora's Mask! I hated all of the other ones, seriously. I find it really boring to play through most of them... I'm not an avid Zelda fan, but I loved Majora's Mask because you had the ability to rewind time, wear masks, and go around the town doing quests/adventures and FIGURING out things. Like the one story with the masked-kid and the girl that was at the Inn. How were they connected, etc. I loved doing those minor-quests, I thought it was fun.

I liked Wind Waker. There's nothing like roaming the open seas in a red boat...

Zelda games have gotten a lot easier from N64 -> GBA(except Link to the Past)/DS/GC/Wii. I honestly believe that Zelda games were never hard to begin with. Nothing in any Zelda game ever lost me that badly.

The Gerudos were a real pain in the ass, whether it be in Hyrule or Termina. Sneaking around in Wind Waker was like nothing... it was like running around in a box behind guards - wait, it was running around in a box behind guards. :/ I did enjoy the cel-shaded graphics of it, though.

Twilight Princess was way too easy. I'll cut them some slack for releasing it when the Wii first came out, making it harder to play at first, but it was supposed to be released on the GAMECUBE. What annoyed me about Twilight Princess was that it wasn't much of an action adventure game. It hit me more as an interactive movie. The only semi-challenging thing about the game was the yeti house. I guess this is the same for all of the 3D games. The developers took all the fun of exploring out of the 3D games. The 2D games weren't as big, but there wasn't an annoying Navi or Tatl or Tetra or King of Red Lions (although the massive overworld and entertaining events made up for it in Wind Waker) or Minda telling you where to go and what not to do. That really killed me when it came to OoT after playing Link to the Past.

I haven't ever finished a Zelda game from beginning to end. I wish I had.

I've played... the first 2/3 or so of Twilight Princess (loved that 2/3, really wanna finish lol), about 1/4 of Link to the Past (ditto), around the same of Wind Waker except broken up into fragments (prolly would've enjoyed it more otherwise), and about 5 minutes each of some of the others.

I enjoyed OoT more coz the dungeons and bosses are more challenging than in Majoras mask but yes as you pointed out, Majoras Mask dungeons and bosses are repeatable. I HATED the Kafei and Anju sidequest, it's like so friggen annoying and hard without a walkthrough. Half the time, I don't even know what I'm doing and I failed miserably on the quest once (The Sakons hideout one). Ocarina of time dungeon and bosses are more challenging than the ones in Majoras Mask and it's bigger making it even mroe fun. The only real challenge in Majoras Mask is the Stone Tower Temple (with exception to the boss which is ridiculously easy) and the Great Bay Temple Boss Gyorg (one of the hardest bosses I've ever fought out of all the zelda games).

A Link to the Past wasn't hard either, most of the bosses are dead easy (except for the Moth boss in Skull Woods and Ganon). The Minish Cap bosses are simply pathetic, all of them are too easy (even the final boss Vaati was a joke).
