Given how Explorers have more engagements with the top tiers of the Black Legion than anyone else, I figured why don't we add more quests regarding the Black Mage story to the mix? Here's the layout I've decided on (these will be sorted based on the General's spread of influence, as well as their overall power within the Black Knights).

Episode 1: The Cold Gaze of Stone (Levels 15-45)

After completing your basic training under the tutelage of Power B. Fore, your job instructor gives you an immediate emergency summons. You are then teleported to the Job Instructor's room, where he informs you of a threat curtailing the Maple World. Right now the threat only encompasses Victoria Island, but it soon will take hold over the entire world. Your first assignment is investigating trails left behind by a wicked threat. This leads you on a quest series to uncover the work done by Francis the Puppeteer.

After a fierce battle, you find one half of a key. Taking this back to your Job Instructor, they then speculate that the key must lead somewhere important if the Black Wings had to break it in half. You are then given a quest series to find the trail of the second half, leading you ultimately into a conflict with Baroq the Master of Disguise. Defeating him will earn you the second piece of the key.

Unfortunately, you now need to find materials to reforge the key. Taking these materials to Mr. Smith will give you the [Key of Stone Chasms]. This key, when used at the middle portion of the Six Station Crossway Tree, will unveil a jump quest which at the end lies the first General - Eleanor the Gaze of Stone. Many of her debuffs will be designed to incapacitate you and make you immobile/harmless.

After defeating her, you then happen upon [Seal Stone of Victoria Island]. This you must take first to your Job Instructor, then to Ereve (to show to Neinheart), and then to Lilin, who will safeguard it to make sure it does not fall into the wrong hands.

Episode 2: The Pitch Black Sky (Level 45-60)

After defeating Eleanor, you are sent a letter from Ferdi, the Headmaster of Edelstein Academy, and also the leader of the Resistance. He reports that the Black Wings have taken over Edelstein, and that in order to stop them, they will need your assistance. As you are snuck into the Resistance HQ, you learn that the [Seal Stone of Leben] is in the hands of the Black Wings, and that they are also awaiting the shipment of the [Seal Stone of Victoria Island].

After much espionage, you find that they indeed have the Seal Stone, but you are stopped short by Valfar, the Demon Slayer. After a battle in which he leaves you weakened, you hawk it back to Edelstein, where they have conjured a fake Seal Stone. You are to ship this to the Black Wing's courier, Schiller, deep in the Verne Mines. Upon the delivery, Schiller easily eats the bait, but Orca the Black Sky intervenes to point out the forgery.

You clash with Schiller, whom you deftly dispose of, but now Orca is angered beyond all belief. However, she escapes to the deepest part of the Verne Mines, where you must now conjure a party to defeat the Second General - Orca the Black Sky.

After her defeat, you obtain the [Seal Stone of Leben], which you hastily take back to Lilin, whom entombs it inside a safe place. The next locale for you to visit is Orbis, to obtain the Seal Stone there.

Episode 3: The Castle of Volcanic Darkness Part 1(Levels 60-70)

Upon arriving in Orbis, you notice that everyone seems to have a bout of anger upon them. Spiruna reflects that those in Orbis are affected by a distortion in the space near Orbis Tower. After defeating a Raging Great Pixie, you somehow break the curse. You then gather more information on a possible lead to the [Seal Stone of Ossyria], and eventually learn through menial chores that it was last seen in the El Nath Mountains.

Descending the Orbis Tower to El Nath, you discover the existence of the Seal Stone, only to have it stolen from underneath you by Valfar the Demon Slayer. He defeats you again, but then suddenly hears a distant scream, in which he drops the Seal Stone in complete despair. Flying off, he vanishes once more. However, the Seal Stone dropped into the Dead Valley, wherein the Lionheart Legion lies. You now confirm that Von Leon the Volcanic Darkness, the Lord of Lionheart Castle, possesses the Seal Stone, but you learn you are far too weak to take him out now.

The instructors of El Nath decide to test your resolve and spirit, and thus they send you to fight your own Shadow (hence a revamp of the 3rd Job fight). In defeating your Shadow, you gain access to the power of the elite members of the Explorer guilds (Crusader/White Knight/Dragon Knight for Warriors, Hermit/Chief Bandit for Thieves, etc.)

They urge you to return when you are much stronger.

Episode 4: The Slayer of Darkness (Level 70-75)

Knowing full well that Valfar has been a thorn in your side for far too long, you receive orders from your job instructor to investigate his recent movements in Magatia.

After a long and lengthy quest in which you become aligned with the Alcadno or Zenumist factions, you learn that Valfar has been investigating the site where the Black Mage had gained his immortality, and also, lost his humanity.

A fight breaks out between you and Valfar, and eventually, he concedes defeat, but not before escaping via a rift - to confront the Black Mage, knowing the secret of his power, but not knowing how to defeat that secret.

In his departure, he leaves the [Seal Stone of Nihal], and says in a letter that you owe him one. Rushing back to Lilin, you deliver the Seal Stone and safeguard it.

Episode 5: That Which Decayed the Earth (Levels 75-100)

As Teo is doing his daily routine, he comes upon a mysterious piece of driftwood. Confused, he asks an adventurer to investigate it. Upon breaking it, Remnants of Goire spawn, and you swiftly defeat them. However, the piece of Goire you destroyed sent a thorn curse throughout Victoria Island, with the greatest focus being on Sleepywood's inner sanctum. To remove the barrier blocking Sleepywood, you travel to each of the five towns, destroying the Fragments of Goire.

Eventually, you break the barrier sealing Sleepywood, but learn that it spread the influence even more, eventually gripping Mu Lung in its terror. Traveling to Mu Lung, you discover the existence of a gigantic tree golem (similar to Krexel, but not quite) which is the true form of Goire, fully reborn after having suffered a terrible defeat at the hands of Freed the Dragon Master from several hundred years ago. However, as Freed himself had done in the past, you defeat Goire as well. His defeat causes him to drop the [Seal Stone of Mu Gong], which you, as usual, deliver to Lilin to safeguard.

Episode 6: The Castle of Volcanic Darkness Part 2 (Level 100-140)

Having gained sufficient strength, you return to Lionheart Castle to do battle with Von Leon the Volcanic Darkness. This leads you through Lionheart Castle's many quests, in which you eventually do battle with Von Leon himself.

After his defeat, Von Leon is still alive, but is soon dispatched by Akyrum, under orders from the Black Mage to retrieve the Seal Stones at all costs. He takes the [Seal Stone of Ossyria], and tells you that resistance is futile.

Horror sinks in as you realize that Lilin is in danger, and sure enough, as you rush to Rien to ensure her safety, and that of the Seal Stones, you discover that she is indeed injured, and that Akyrum took the Seal Stones you had previously gathered.

Episode 7: The Fang's Nightmare (Levels 140-170)

Ever since the image of Lilin's battered body hit your mind, you've been hit with a recurring nightmare of sorts - Akyrum has instilled fear in you.

To recover from his nightmare, and to dispell your fear, Valfar, having now aligned himself with the Resistance, tells you to defeat the strongest denizens of Maple World - the Colossus Zakum, the Cursed Dragon Horntail, the dreaded Pink Bean, and the Nightmare of your greatest fear, the Dark Empress Cygnus. After defeating these, you suddenly realize that Akyrum is nothing to be afraid of, and that you have the courage to destroy Akyrum's foolish plot.

You eventually cross into the Past to learn of the Black Mage's reign of terror, and learn that Akyrum is conjuring a spell using the Seal Stones which will break the fabric of reality and awaken Rhinne, the Goddess of Time, from her slumber, dooming Maple World for good.

However, you defeat the terrifying Akyrum, and recover the Seal Stones from him.

But you have a looming feeling like the war is not over yet. It is only just beginning.

End of the Episodes since we haven't discovered Suoh or her regiment.

Do you think this would make a good Epic Storyline path for us heavy lore-nerds?

Rather decent and I wouldn't mind playing through it. But it seems like there seem to be some conflicts with stories from other classes. Like, wasn't all the seal stones (currently in game) already stolen and broke or something? So it wouldn't make much sense for those stones to be reused, but new ones should be fair game.

Also, fighting the Demon Slayer won't make any sense as soon as Demon Slayer is released, maybe make it a dark copy the Black Magician made from some of the power he left behind.

Probably the story and game would have to be altered greatly for this to work as intended. I realized this as I looked over it once more.

i wouldn't want to start doing storyline quests, unless they were a really good source of experience, until at least 100, from someone's point of view who quit playing an evan because of all the damn quests.

Seems good but five little problems. One, why do you call the demon slayer Valfar? Two, who is Eleanor? Is she the black which? If she is why don't you just call her the black which? Three, what does Victoria island have to do with mu lung? I mean their is not even some way to teleport to mu lung from Victoria island. Why not just have Goire take control of mu lung and you have to break his remnants there? Four, As said before the seal stones have been used before, so why are you using them again? and five, why is the demon slayer bad? This happens in the present so he should be good. He was only bad back during the first reign of the black mage and then he turned on him because the black mage ordered his house destroyed and his family killed(no idea why though)
