View Full Version : Permanent Bans - 07/10/11 to 07/16/11

In all seriousness, Harry/2147483647/Harrisonized will no longer be with us. After much internal debate and a bit of discussion it's been determined his presence here is a net loss that serves only to create unnecessary drama, time/resource waste, trolling and spam.

Since he's genuinely not interested in being here but refuses to leave unless banned and refuses to behave in accordance to the R&R and the standards of civilized society he is henceforth banned, permanently, on sight and without appeal or parole.

We hope he finds something to do with his time that brings him the happiness that being here can't.

I'm honestly amazed you put up with him this long.

What is this? An office water cooler or what. I'm sure he's happy to know his trolling was successful.

I'm honestly amazed you think this needed a thread...to serve what purpose...

And yet if we didn't post it we'd be accused of quietly removing him for nothing and pretending like he hadn't existed and the inevitable speculation threads about where he went and who was power-tripping and removed him for no reason.

We chose to be up front about his removal, the reason behind it and the fact that we're denying him appeal or consideration of any additional chances.

If you don't care go on with your life. More information you can ignore isn't hurting you any and being honest and transparent is better than secretive and appreciated by more users even if you're not one of them.

I am allowed to ask questions and question motives, so I did. And you provided an answer. That's all.

Harsh, but necessary, I guess.

I don't understand why people feel the need to push buttons for the sake of pushing buttons.

Going to sound mean, but good riddance. There was absolutely no reason for him to choose to feign his intelligence from before and just make peoples' heads hurt. My sympathy for him that he's most likely going to be mad once he finds out, and for whoever like/saw him as a friend.

What Eos points out is that he's banned anyway, and letting people know is better than letting people gossip about it.

I found his trolling to actually be kind of funny in a spectator sense, but all in all, he DID have it coming. He didn't really know when to quit. But that's enough of talking about others behind their backs. Hopefully he can find someplace he can have his fun and antics at without somehow feeling oppressed.

Who knows. 4chan maybe? Even there however, you can't just be a total fool and not expect some form of repercussion.

No, I actually think this is a pretty nice way to handle it. A vet on the forum gets perma banned, people are going to want to know a reason why. If there wasn't a particular post that gave him the ban, but rather a collection of his posts, it's better to explain it. It may caus small drama now, but it'd be nothing compared to the potential drama that'd raise from a silent kill and sweep under the rug.

Silently, you say? I am now imagining the mods as this now:

And it makes me laugh.

As much as he had it coming to him, its a shame to see him leave. Harrison has been part of countless incidences of laughter here (responding to computers, glitch or no glitch), and I'm going to miss his posts. While he WAS rule-pushing and seemingly asking for this, he went about it in an intelligent way, a way R_O would never be able to do in a hundred years of studying the trade.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be banned, I'm just saying that I was always amused at the way he went about things, and how much effort he put into doing so. T'was amusing, at least to me.

xLeviathan

"People would gossip about it," "People would want to know why he was banned," etc. don't really make any sense. You all clearly know why he was banned and you would know why without having it announced in such a manner.

I don't mind much, just pointing it out...

He was a good poster and a good person. I believe that his volatile actions were due to frustration and that his primary intention in being a member of this community was to contribute to mutual learning, not to give us grief.

P.S. When I get banned I want the opening post to be done in similar format, except with the addition of an ASCII cake and my name emblazoned in red with devil fire shooting out of it. Also bring up the most controversial topics I stirred up in this forum board in top ten countdown fashion.

Eos is not Nexon and Harrison is no professional hacker, it will be enforced.
If you want to know who he is, just search for this posts on the forum (if that isn't erased).

Either 2147483647 or Harrisonized.

What's to stop that from happening again?

The staff new? NEW? How dare our grand and wonderful owner made a simple mistake! THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!

Also, to the person who said Harry isn't a supah hacker and can't come back. It doesn't take a supah hacker to bypass vB walls, anyone with 80% of an internet mind can do it with ease.

vB's IP recognition =/= eos IP recognition, or so I think. There's a reason this site runs so smooth and fast while other vB forums don't.

I guess if he comes back by somehow evading the ban and manages to behave in such a way that nobody has a clue it is him, then it isn't really an issue. He'd just be a normal poster. But in practice that won't happen. He'll give himself away.

I'm sad it came to this, but I guess it had to be done.
