I have been thinking about a huge patch like this for a long time now. Adding new ideas when I think them up and slowly making them fit together better. Well here we go.
Maplestory Void would be a 2-3 part patch similar to Big Bang and Chaos.
It would feature:
1. Revamped Equips
2. Revamped GPQ
3. New Weapons
4. New Lvl Cap
5. 5th Job
6. New Area
Now with that all out of the way you can either say: "Ug he wants to raise the max lvl and add 5th job what a noob. *Exits thread*". Or you could say: "Lets see where he's going with this.". Hopefully you pick option number 2.
1. Revamped Equips
QUICK! What are some of the most powerful equips in game? Chances are you said one/a few of these: Zak helm, WGs, Rat mouths, Bathrobes, PaCs, Facestompers. This is one thing that bothers me about MS. No one uses their classes equipment. You see so many people walking around with common equips, that you hardly ever see someone(mid to high leved) wearing thier classes equips. This is hear to change that.
This changes all equipment to work like the visitor event equipment. If I am wearing say... all lvl 50 bowman armour and the lvl 50 bow, then I will get a bonus. The rewards will go like this:
2 pieces of the same set: +2 all stats.
3 pieces of the same set: +3 all stats, +300 HP & MP.
4 pieces of the same set: +4 all stats, +400 HP & HP, +2 W.Att & M.Att.
5 pieces of the same set: +5 all stats, +500 HP & MP, +4 W.att & M.Att.
6 pieces of the same set: +6 all stats, +600 HP & MP, +8 W.Att & M.Att
The sets would be: Hat, Top, Bottom, Gloves, Shoes, and Weapon. If instead of tops and bottoms your class uses overalls, move all the bonuses down one piece and get rid of the lowest one.
2. Revamped GPQ
This one is nothing special. Simply the same old GPQ with a few changes. One change, new rewards. Remember those earrings you have to get in the beginning of gpq? Remember how you used to lose them after the PQ was done? Well this time they are keep-able AAAANNNNNNDDDDD upgradeable. Every 10 times you complete the PQ you can talk to the starting NPC to give them +1 all stats. This only works 5 times and on the 5th it also gains +1 W.att/M.att. The other is balancing. You want the lower leveled guild members to have fun too right? How this works is say you have a lvl 130 and a lvl 50. All the monsters in the PQ are "lvl ?". What this means is that their lvl adjusts to the person attacking them. So the lvl 50 person could attack monster A and do damage(not miss) and then the lvl 130 could attack and also hit. This would mean there would not be that one guy who was good for nothing because he was to low a lvl.
3. New weapons
This update would also bring new weapons. Their would only be three new sets of weapons. Their lvls would be 150, 175, and 200. To tell the truth out of all 6 of these ideas this is the one that is least fleshed out. If anyone has any ideas to further this please post them.
4. New lvl cap
Just what it sounds like. However I am not asking for a SUPER MEGA AWESOME CRAZY new 100 or 200 lvls. All I ask is for 50. Making the new highest lvl, 250. Thats all here folks time to move on.
5. 5th Job
This is where my whole idea for this update started and is probably the thing I have thought out the most. The job advancement would be available at lvl 200.
Back story: The quest starts out with you going to your first job instructor and asking if they have anymore tricks up their sleeves. After being turned down you move on to your 2nd job instructor and then your 3rd, then your 4th. All say the same they have nothing left to learn you are a master. However you crave something a feeling of adventure that you used to have. Just before you are about to leave your 4th job instructor mentions that he has heard new of a major discovery in Perion and that you should check it out. So you head all the way back to Victoria Island and make your way to Perion were you hear news of a huge discovery at the excavation site. After arriving at the excavation site you hear news that on the very outskirts of Perion the excavation team has discovered a alter at the top of a cliff that overlooks the sea. So you head deep into the outskirts of Perion to check out this alter. After exploring a little you decide that there is nothing of interest here and are about to head back when you notice something. You notice a ancient mural depicting the kingdom as it once was. But now it is faintly glowing. You reach out to touch it and your hand slips right through. Caught off guard by this you fall face first through the mural and fall down into what seems like and endless pit. Eventually you black out. When you awake you are on the same cliff side except the alter instead of being old and vacant is new and busy. In fact it seems as if people are just building it. You tap a man on the shoulder to ask when the restorations began. The man looks at you funny and tells you that construction has just started. Thinking that you hit your head on something he tells you to go back to the castle to get some rest. Not knowing what is going on you take the mans advice and go of the way you got to the alter in the first place. After finally making you way back to what should be the excavation site you discover that it has disappeared and been replaced with a medieval town and a huge castle. You suddenly understand whats going on.... You have traveled back in time to the age of the Sharenian. Not knowing what is in store for you, you enter the town. After exploring the town for a little bit you see a shop getting ransacked by a gang of thieves and you decide to jump in and help. After defeating them you are captured by guards and taken to the castle. Here you are locked in a bedroom with no explanation. After so snooping around the bedroom you discover in the closet a secret passage and decide to escape. After what seems like forever walking in a dark passage you run into a wall and feel a door. When you open the door you are in a huge hall filled with guards. All of a sudden you hear a loud voice. "HA I told you he/she would make it!". You look to the end of the hall where you heard the voice and see a huge throne. Once again you hear the voice "Come her lad/lass". You look closer and see a man sitting on the throne. You approach. He tells you that he is Sharen the 2nd, king of all Sharenian. He tells you that he was taking a walk when he noticed you fighting of the thieves. He tells you that he thinks that you would make a great knight and offers you the choice. Accepting he tells you to report to one of his head knights for further training.
tl;dr You travel back in time to Sharenian in its hay day and become one of the kings knights.
Now that all that back story is out of the way time to get to the actual advancements. Each job fulfills a roll around the castle or town. I am going to explain a little about what role they fulfill and 1 or 2 new skills they will receive.
Warriors
When warriors advance they become the nobles the ones the king can trust to rule over smaller sections of his kingdom. I think it's pretty self explanatory why I picked these names.
Hero -> King
One of a kings skills would be "Checkmate". Checkmate would be a skill like Brandish or Intrepid Slash. It could hit up to 5 monsters but there is a catch. If say instead of hitting 5 monsters you only hit 2, the damage that would have gone to the other 3 monsters is split between the 2 you did hit. For example if you attack 5 monsters and each one gets 1000 damage if you only hit 2 they would receive 1000 +1500.
Paladin -> Noble
Noble's not only bring new skills to the table they also bring a new element. The earth element to be exact! So obviously a new skill the get is "Earth Charge". Earth charge is not only more powerful then the other charges but it also(when used with charged blow) creates a pillars of rock(like brawlers shockwave) to hit monsters.
Dark Knight -> Dragoon
Dragoons get a skill called "Pole-vault". You get one guess as to what this skills does... It is similar to a DBs flying assaulter. The dragoon jumps into the air(they do not have to use the jump key this skill jumps for them) and slams into the ground. When they hit the ground they slide damaging any monster they touch. Yea you heard me ANY monster. There is no limit to how many monsters this skill can hit.
Thats all for now folks! I wish I could add more but its getting late and I need to get up early tomorrow. I promise to add more later. I hope you have enjoyed so far.
