I've been wondering what games SP's been playing, especially the hard ones. Probably the hardest game I've ever played is the Touhou bullet hell shooter series.

Probably some of the mind games I played at Top Gun/SEALS [Scout leadership training]. It's not like games you're talking about probably, but games nonetheless.
They really get you to think and surprise you at the end when the hidden purpose of the game is revealed.

Ikaruga multiplayer. I keep forgetting which ship is mine.
I don't I wanna be the Guy, because everyone knows how retardedly difficult that game is.
[EDIT]: Forgot about getting an "A" rank on any mission in Sonic Adventure. Seriously, the time limits are unreal.
[DOUBLE EDIT]: Not mine, but it looks annoying enough, eh?

The last boss of Sonic 2 for the Genesis.
(Keep in mind, this game was made without save files, so if you got a game over you'd have to start from the very beginning.)

I used to my cousin to play as tails and help me out throughout the game :3 Was fun playing side by side, and killing her randomly.

I beat that game :f2: The last boss was hard, as was pretty much the whole game, but once you get the pattern it's not too bad. I think I am the only kid in my school to have beaten that game. Everyone else just gave up.
I am not really sure about the hardest game I've ever player. IWBTG was pretty hard, but it was all about memorizing patterns and timing your jumps. I have seen the hardest game, though, on YouTube. I don't remember the name, but it is an arcade overhead vertical shooter and the last boss pretty much covers the entire screen with each of her different attacks, giving you about 2mm of space to manauver, all the while you are trying to shoot her.

Eh, that game is only hard the first time around because you have no idea what to expect. After you've experienced it all and know what to do, it's rather easy.
As for me, the hardest console game I've ever played (to perfection) was Perfect Dark. Close runner up would probably be one of the Contra games, or Gunstar Heroes.

Most ROM hacks that I've played are keyboard-smash-hulk-rage hard. Examples include Kaizo Mario 1 / 2, Super Metroid Impossible, SM Limit, SM Redesign, Legend of Zelda: Parallel Worlds.
Normal games... I'd say Metroid Prime 2 Echoes on Hard at some points was infuriating. Everything takes like a bajillion hits to kill. Much h8 for the Boost Guardian as well.

Was that... the one with the Morph ball maze? If so, I didn't think it was that hard, it didn't change much from normal, besides doing more damage.

Digital Devil Saga got to be a pain in the ass at times, and Persona 3 FES The Answer on Hard can be just as challenging at times.
My answer has to go to Battletoads though, I hated that damn game even after I beat it.

I've always wanted to try Digital Devil Saga. But seeing how many problems I had with Nocturn I dunno if it's such a good idea :f4:
Seventh Saga was hard also. You got into random battles while standing still ug piece of shit game.
Streets of Rage 3, US Edition, on Hard for the Sega Genesis. Remember, if you play this game on an actual Sega, there is no saving, there is death and then game over :/
I dare any of you to try and get through that game.....IMPOSSIBLE I SAY!
Stage 5 on Hard: Elevator (http://youtube.com/watch?v=5ya9B-q131U&feature=user)
Stage 6 on Hard (http://youtube.com/watch?v=VnHlB6FIuK8&feature=user)
There are 7 levels in all
Without using Save States, I usually get to about the end of Stage 5
Check out my other vids to see other levels on Hard as well

DDS really isn't all that bad if you know your enemies. Boss fights usually boil down to one character casting anti-<element> spells while the other two pound away. Actually, that's how most battles go after a while...

Well you can practically say that about any difficult game. Well just learn the pattern here and this is completely easy. Learn not to turn into this part of the maze and it goes like this the whole time.
Mastering your enemies and figuring out how to beat your enemies in DDS is the difficult part of it. Even after I learned my enemies really well I still slipped some times in a fight because I'd forget something. DDS is a very easy game to slip up on, and when you do that you get GAME OVER.

Donkey Kong, without a doubt. I think only 2 people in the world (Wiebe & Mitchell ) have ever managed to get to the kill screen on it...
If it has to be a game that I've managed to finish, I'd have to go with N or Contra (without using the konami code)

that most difficult platformer thing.. ><
I can't say. I've played plenty of decently hard games, and 100% completion isn't exactly the easiest thing to do in most games. I remember spending forever trying to get all 180 emblems in SA2.
IWTBTG is decently hard, if it's your first playthrough and you don't know what to expect.

For me it would be "Farland Odyssey 2"
Yes I bet most of you haven't heard of this game before but it used 2 be popular in china.
This game is easy going at first but it suddenly gets harder before you know it.
You level up your party members in a similar fashion as the Final Fantasy games and can level up your abilities depending on the numebr of times you use them. But the monsters you fight are literally insanely hard. Bosses were literally impossible >.<
This game acts in a linear storyline where you can't return to previous areas you've visited so if you havent leveled up enough in a certain area, you'd get owned by mobs in the next area. I leveled like around 5 times in a certain area before moving on and trust me, leveling takes a while...
So far I still can't beat the last boss...

Another good one... Ghosts 'n Goblins. Ridiculously hard :(
Even the easier Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, you had to finish it twice in 1 playthrough just to say you finished it once :hothead:

Yeah, Touhou games are the most challenging ones for me. It takes me a lot of practice before I can beat them on Normal, even. I can't beat Subterranean Animism on Easy yet. -_- That one is like on a whole different level compared to 6-10 (at least for me). I know I could improve if I played far more than I do, but I've never mustered up the reason to do so yet. Lol I love the series, though. One of my favorites. <3
I've played tons and tons of console games (pretty much a gamer my whole life, starting when I was 7), and I've always managed to beat every single one - including 100% completions, multiple run-throughs, speed runs, hard and professional settings, etc. Console games are honestly never that hard. Sure, they'll have their moments...but it's easy to prevail eventually. Games I can never beat or master are what I consider hard.
Short answer: Basically any Touhou game on Lunatic setting.

Oh wow, I was just about to post about the Touhou games. I can deal with most of the games on Normal, but Lunatic is absolutely ridiculous. Navigating through hundreds of bullets while keeping your attack up is so frustrating.

Metal Gear Solid 3. It's been like two years since I got it and I still haven't got past the first level/mission.
MGS3 Virtuous Mission is hard? :f6: I wouldn't even want to know how you'd be able to handle The Boss.
As a kid, Megaman X Sigma. I was around 10 at the time I tried Sigma. At first I failed so badly I had to use up my 4 sub-tanks to get to his second form. You can imagine how well that went.
Kaiser Sigma would be a close second.
Overall hardest game though as a kid? Has to be Gradius III.
*Wait, I dare anyone to beat Doom on Nightmare mode. That'll make you cry as you try to trek through the SWAAAAARM of demons.
Current hardest game played was either Trauma Center or Trauma Center 2. Savato is so cheap, and Aletheia requires too much concentration on vein cutting for me to beat on Hard mode. Ironically, I beat the rest of TC2 on hard mode save for Pempti round 2 and Aletheia. :f1:

Have not played it, but I know Ghosts and Goblins has a reputation for being insanely hard.
First you beat it, then you go to level 5 again, then you beat the whole thing again, with three lives and two hits to lose a life. Impossible to beat without H4x0rz.
