just wondering if the achilles skill for 4th job warriors reduces damage from magic attacks also

Im pretty sure it does. ask anyone with a decent lvl of achilles

it does. it works for 1/1 as well.except the damage you see you take will not look reduced, your hp goes down by the amount achilles suppose to reduce.

It affects everything, even 1/1. Why the damage numbers you see don't reflect it is beyond me. Do you know if the -15% reduction (maxed achilles) is factored before or after pg's -40% reduction?

since you see the "before" damage i would guess its factored before. my achilles is only 1 so its hard to tell. and powerguard damage isnt significant anyways.

Achilles affect BOTH wep def and mag def. What I don't get is why is this skill called Achilles (I know the name of the greek hero but why is it named after him)?

Achilles is known for being invulnerable (being dipped in a lake at birth that made him that way) so invulnerable = added defense. kinda?

(the only part of Achilles that was vulnerable was his heel, coins the saying Achilles heel, as someones weakness)

Yeah it's -15% to any damage you take whatsoever
