As the title states, we are looking for all of our wonderful SP artists to put on their creative thinking caps and create a graphic ad for SP's ETL ranking system and Database!

Eos is working on something else new and exciting and, while I can't let you in on that little secret just yet, know that it will add to the already wonderful features we have here on SP. Unlike the content tester badge, this contest will have prizes handed out to the top winner/s along with bragging rights.

RULES

File size of submitted logo should NOT exceed 600k.
Dimensions should be 150x150 pixels or less.
It shall be a "maple related" design.
Maple sprites are permitted.
Must be designed as an "ad" trying to get clicks for the database or ETL ranking system.
Preferred file format is png or gif only.
It "can" be animated if you so choose, but doesn't have to be.
ANYONE is allowed to participate.
There is no limit on the amount of entries any one person can submit.
All submissions become property of southperry.net whether "winning" or not.
ALL submissions will be PM’ed to ME and ONLY me and are NOT allowed to be posted anywhere on this forum.
Submissions must be PM’ed to me no later than 11:59 pm PST on Sunday March 13th, 2011. Late submissions will not be accepted for any reason.
Winner/s will be announced Friday March 18th, 2011.
Please keep all posts in this thread ON TOPIC!
Please ask all questions within this thread to help avoid repetition for myself and Eos.
Anyone not following these rules will be automatically disqualified.
Most importantly, HAVE FUN with it and be creative.

[I reserve the right to modify these rules when/if necessary.]

PLEASE BE ADVISED......

This will NOT be up for public voting this time.

ONLY the MODS will be discussing and voting on the winner/s.

There is the possibility of more than one winner.

Should there be more than one winner, the prize will be split amongst them.

The winning prize/s will NOT be in the form of SPP unless stated as a preference to me by the winner/s.

The amount of the prize/s are undisclosed to me at this time. Those amounts will be disclosed after the winner/s have been announced.

After the winners have been announced, we will post all submissions received for your viewing pleasure.

Can you tell me where will it be put? Between posts like google ads, popup, or even outside SP?

It'll be a square sidebar click-through ad leading into the system or systems it references depending on how it's done.

No visual frame of reference exists in SP for it.

Think angry panda on a smaller scale saying CLICK HERE

so it would be something like this?

Approximate to that, yes, though specific to our ETL and DB, not SP in general.

Think angry panda on a smaller scale saying CLICK HERE

Well, you'd kind of need a reason "why" to click there too.

Yes, well that's part of the rules. I was just giving an example of what it could look like.

Why's every contest either art or an essay.
Wish it'd be something else. ;/

Those are coming.
This one and the previous weren't Talia's, they were ones I needed her to do, and the one before that was one that users begged for.
She hasn't gotten to do any of her own events yet.

As Eos said, I will be doing some of my own that won't be art or essay related. We have done things that are needed first. The others are coming, I promise. :)

I think it would be more helpful if the location of the graphic (layout it will be in) would be provided. This helps the artist to pick a suitable shape (square, horizontal rectangle, vertical rectangle) for their buttons.

150x150 is a square last I looked.

It's a square. Check thinbear's picture, 150x150 is almost like that.

It says 150 x 150 or smaller.

Doesn't say it has to be a square. I could make a 50 x 150 rectangle, but I don't know if that's going to be best shape for the graphic.

I guess square is the preferred size?

Edit: :D can't read :)

It's in a tie breaker vote at the moment to determine prizes.
