So my laptop was always getting an Error, so my friend erased the Legit windows xp i had on there and installed his "unofficial" copy. Now the error is gone but it wants me to activate windows, and I have no internet.
How do I uninstall this "unofficial" copy and install my legit one without being able to access the operating system. FYI this is a super old 1995 IBm laptop.

All Legitimate versions of XP asks you to activate it over the internet or the phone. I don't think this forum doesn't allow discussion of the other methods of obtaining software. If you need help activating it we're here to help. No way to bypass it.

hmm...I would say have your friend find an activation key for you, since he has internet. DAM your laptop is ANCIENT 0_o...umm I really don't know what else to tell you b/c you can't really do anything..which sucks. I don't see why your friend didn't THINK about it beforehand..

Guys, I dont this this talk is forbidden casue I'm TRYING to remove the illegal copy and install my legit one I have. The problem is accessing the Bios so I can boot my CD and then load that one.
I can;t access the Bios due to the error, or maybe it's the fact that it has no battery and Im using power from the wall.
Any advice would help. Thanks.

if it's from 1995, why don't you just use an OS from 1995, when they didn't actually HAVE that sort of thing.

Guys, The problem isn't FINDING an OS. I have a Windows 98 and Windows XP Startup Discs. THE PROBLEM is finding a way to install that, since I cant seem to find a way to access my Bios, as the error like pops up and, apparently i can't access it with a dead battery?

near the clock, is there a key icon (only xp service pack 2, 3, and vista has this)?
if there is, click on it, select "activate by phone". it'll generate a long ass code. when you call them (it'll give you a toll free number), a machine will ask you to read off that code, do it. its gonna ask if youre the first person to use this windows, say yes. it'll give you a new code and use that code to activate your windows.

:S You don't have to have access to the operating system to reinstall windows. Just put your legal copy of windows into the CD ROM drive and have your computer boot from the CD drive. Also access to the bios shouldn't depend on how your computer is getting powered, you might want to double check on that.
