Hey boys and girls.

My Win XP Media Center Edi. SP3 rig won't boot the os anymore, heck I can't boot in any safe mode, or boot system restore without crash or bsod. I've googled the problem but it seems you need the install disc for windows xp to repair the os -- problem being I don't actually have a disc, it never came with my Compaq Presario rig. (SR2020NX is the model # if I remember).

Is there anyone that has even the faintest clue to fix my system without the xp disc?

Thank you.

if you need a disc, get a friend to help you and use their disc or get an image of the disc from somewhere.

I'm afraid that doesn't help me, I know no one with the disc -- and as far as I've found there are no images I can use that will be bootable.

...first of all, the disc doesn't have to be from compaq, any windows xp installation disc would do. Second, when you get an image of an windows xp disc, all you have to do is burn the image onto a CD and it will be bootable.
