If you have the following quests, I will count them as completed:

The quests on this list are the repeatable ones that are in your best to keep active. Inverse Attributes is on there because it is unfair towards the ArchMages who have it completed. Note that the Cupid's Courier quest is not counted here.

Reason for "Inverse Attributes":

That, sir, is RIDICULOUS, if I may say it plain. Take this as a PERFECT example of what I'm saying: EVERY OTHER CLASS gets to include ALL of their job quests because none of theirs are stuck glitched, but AMs must ALWAYS have 1 less than they deserve because their quest happens to be glitched?
About the other quests that are not on there...
Not all the repeatable quests are on there, and for good reason. Many of the repeatable quests are the ones that you may finish (almost) immediately after starting. The glitched quests that are not on there are the ones that stay in your 'in progress' tab. Those won't move anywhere, so since, again, most of the people on the list have it completed, it would not affect your score in relation with other people.

Thanks to Kaasoljoyyx for a laconic explanation for why I did not include certain quests:

To put it another way of what he's saying, it's such an easy quest to complete, everyone would realistically get +1 to all their totals. In a ranking system, that does not change the ranks at all. So to make it easy, it's just not counted.

Unless it really does change it, it should be on a case-by-case basis or something. But almost everyone on the top has that quest done anyway.

Yes, I know there are some broken quests and you may have completed them. However, I will not count them. The only glitched quests I will count are: "Inverse Attributes" (because, as mentioned above, it produces an unfair disadvantage for all ArchMages) and "Cupid's Courier" (because apparently the jumping back to Available list was intended.)

Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. Cupid's Courier is, as we say, WAI (working as intended).
Because of the way Cupid's Courier works (now confirmed not a glitch), without counting it, people need to redo it every time they update and it makes updating a hassle.

Apparently, there are three versions of this quest: one for Phyllia, one for Alcadno (wth Albino?), and one for Zemunist.

Here's how you do all three:

what if i start the quest "For Zenumist", drop the notes, and re-acquire them. then, i will forfeit "For Zenumist", and start "For Alcando". drop the notes, re-acquire them, forfeit, start "For Phyllia". drop the notes, re-acquire them, end the quest "For Phyllia" since its the one i want to do.
Basically:
"For Zemunist", "For Alcando", and "For Phyllia" must be in your "Available"
Start "For Zemunist"
Drop Dran's Notes
Go to Alcaster and start/complete the quest "Re-Acquiring Dr. De Lang's Notes"
Forfeit "For Zemunist"
The three quests, "For Zemunist", "For Alcando", and "For Phyllia" will reappear in your "Available".
Start "For Alcadno"
Drop Dran's Notes
Go to Alcaster and start/complete the quest "Re-Acquiring Dr. De Lang's Notes"
Forfeit "For Alcadno"
The three quests, "For Zemunist", "For Alcando", and "For Phyllia" will reappear in your "Available"
Start "For Phyllia"
Drop Dran's Notes
Go to Alcaster and start/complete the quest "Re-Acquiring Dr. De Lang's Notes"
Forfeit "For Phyllia"
The three quests, "For Zemunist", "For Alcando", and "For Phyllia" will reappear in your "Available"
Finish either "For Zemunist", "For Alcando", or "For Phyllia".
Instead of just finishing "For Zemunist", "For Alcando", or "For Phyllia" for one count, this method increases your count to four for the same quest because you will have "Re-Acquiring Dr. De Lang's Notes" counted three times and either "For Zemunist", "For Alcando", or "For Phyllia" finished.
These are really the only ones that the higher leveled population can still do.

LoL. I was looking at the SW quests, and noticed your post there, and searched for it.

I saw that thread, but it's not updated, and more like the 'Flaunt your damage, items, stats threads in each of the class sections.'

Not really in ranking style and not really updated either.
More like, just random people posting their quest numbers... like the leaf stat thread, if you know what I mean...

Nonetheless, there is already a topic for this, and this one is in the wrong section. A merge/deletion of one or the other and a movement of this one needs to take place. No one seems to care about our Quests subforum.

Also, a ranking type system for quests based on number completed is horribly stupid, honestly. If you're going to do one, don't split them into separate lists. If you're going to do that, how are you going to make it fair? Why doesn't each class get their own list (we have different amounts of "Job" quests)? Why isn't there one that splits apart the people with more "Events" quests (the biggest difference in "scores" comes from whether people did all those Cash card quests or not)? It's best to just make one simple list, because there's TONS of things that make a Quest ranking unfair and unequal from person to person. Splitting it up by simply NX or not is retarded.

My point was that a thread like this, if maintained, can actually draw people to it. I'd rather our Quests subforum actually got some attention. How about you? Or would you rather watch it die? Why don't we just delete it?

How is it 'retarded'? How is it not fair. The numbers still show up.
And, I'm not counting NX and non NX by Job quests or Event quests. I know how many quests are available 'naturally' in game without purchase from the CS, since I did all except three. So, if the count exceeds that number, I'll move it to NX quests. Although I can't guarantee that I can distinguish whether the lower leveled people have NX quests or not, I can on the higher leveled people, which is usually the people who have the highest quest number.

My point was that a thread like this, if maintained, can actually draw people to it. I'd rather our Quests subforum actually got some attention. How about you? Or would you rather watch it die? Why don't we just delete it?
Of course it'll draw people into it. It got 20K views on SW. It might be popular here, or it might not. However, I don't have the power to move it anyways, so it's pointless arguing that.

And, look at what happened when someone posted the thread in the Quests subforum. If i posted this thread there, then:
1) It probably won't even be seen
2) Someone like you will say that my post is redundant

So no. I honestly don't think my thread will give the Quests subforum some attention, even if it did, it'd only be for a short period of time...

Sorry Felix. That subforum is dead. People post quest related materia under 'Training Center' anyways, which is why that subforum is dead.

True questers don't let anything stop them, even NX. I'm saying any type of split in this type of ranking is stupid, because quests are quests. There's tons of unfair circumstances that allow others to get more than other people, but oh well. If you want more people on the list, simply make the list longer - don't think up stupid splits, especially one as poorly divided as NX or not. Because I guarantee you, at least some of those people in the "no NX" section have NX-only quests completed in their logs, perhaps just not as many.

And iTCG quests aren't even NX-related, but that's besides the point.

No, they should not. There are many unfair things about Quest rankings, but it's stupid to try making it "fair." Quests are quests. Let those that have the most done, no matter what, shine at the top. It's not like they cheated.

It has never appeared in my Available, my alternate characters' or any of my friends'. I have no idea why you have it. Is your character too new? All the characters I just mentioned were from 2005 and early 2006.

No. Event and Job quests are available for everyone. I originally had NX started quests and non NX in separate, but FelixTM convinced me to merge them by saying that true questers don't let anything stop them... and then I thought, yea, that's about right. We can all use MTS to make NX anyways, so all quests are available to us.

HT pendant doesn't have a quest associated with it O_o. However in KMS, there's a second quest to get an egg which requires you have gotten an egg once, and don't have a HT pendant. Only justification I can imagine for this is if you blow it up with a chaos scroll.

I'm going to raise the bar to 360 when one more person has above that. When one more person has 360+, there'll be exactly 25 people with 360+, and 25 is what I'm aiming for, although I don't like cutting out people, which is why it's 350 atm.

The notebook takes forever. I was at book ghosts for two hours and then went to those pirates for five hours and nothing. My friend told me that she turned in a notebook but it didn't show up under complete, so I'll need confirmation for whether or not that's true.

Actually, Nexon has addressed that quest and they said it's working exactly the way they intended. I agree it's a very stupid way to do a quest, but at least they make it go away when you get 4th job.

You actually have it pretty backwards. Players, like myself, that have played since the beginning (or very near it) miss out on tons of quests that newer players would be able to do. Examples: Maple Island quests, Orbis PQ quests, Herb Town PQ quests, misc. level-restricted quests (example, Level 40 and under kill Mushmom quest), recovery style quests (detailed on the last page) that were unknown until more recently, etc

I have never once bought a single pack of any sort of iTCG cards. If you want to do the quests, all you have to do is go into the FM and find the items you need. iTCG quests are extremely easy and pretty cheap (especially compared to some other quests, time and money wise). Not wanting to do NX-related quests is a cop out, too. It's easy for anyone to get NX if they truly want it by using the MTS. I've funded TONS of NX-related things by simply selling scrolls I find.

Care to explain?

Yes, that's true. But that really is one of the very few advantages early players have in the questing realm. The couple quests we got that newer players can't are vastly outnumbered by the great amount of quests newer players can get that we missed out on.

I'm quite confused where Opeth's logic is coming from.

I think I've gotten pretty lucky as to when I started, I began my character the day after maple island quests were added. Since I got those and then all the event quests over that large amount of time, plus slow leveling left me in range to get the Pirate PQ quests...

Finished all the quests again after last patch. f3 Also the 3 Robo quests (evolve one, and the two for extra commands).

Leader A and Leader B drop her purse. Anego's Parlor is a great map to hunt for it, so long as there isn't an Anego spawned. Lol

Newspaper Hat is a Gach-only item in GMS. It doesn't drop from monsters in our version.

It's pretty much impossible, for those of us on the list already, anyways. His character is new enough to have hit almost all the quests, while missing very few + he was able to do all the NX card quests from the different stores.

Are there any other quests out there that require 1mil+ in meso fees?

Sabitrama's last quest chain involves giving him 1 million mesos.
He's really a pain, for his quests you need 100 Stone Golem Stones, 100 Dark Stone Golem Stones, 100 Soul Teddy Bears, 200 Lazy Buffy Marbles and 500 Dual Pirates Propellors. =.=
And you have to travel to Omega Sector. o.O

Smores No More isn't broken at all. *not ingame atm* You hunt for 25 Smores from Nightmares and then turn them in. You get 100k mesos, 3 Edmund's Special Brew, and a bit of exp, I believe.

IIRC, some of the quests during the mansion event (had to have specific NX to enter) gave out Smores. The droprate is kinda low on them.

Harrison, you should know that a quest can take hours upon hours just to find one of the drops needed. ;)

I know. The rexton leathers are taking forever. But at least it wasn't as bad as the Dark Yeti Skins.

The problem with the smores no more quest was that a while ago, I was there spamming meteo for 45 min without finding one and so I just assumed they removed it as a drop. Now that I know its not, I'll go do it.

Likewise, I've found tons of Smores while getting items for my stirgeman capes. I had the quest done a couple days after it came out, though. Haha They're just rotting in my mule now.

200 Dark Jr. Yeti Skin + 200 Dragon Skin was surely a pain. It pretty much devoured my whole day (and I fell asleep a few times >_>').

By the way. People at the top of the list have the ability to determine the cutoff. I've been raising the number by 10 every time 25 people have over that, but I can't keep doing that anymore because not as many people have access to certain quests such as pet and HT and what not...

I'd like to make it so that people can stay somewhat 'on' the rankings... The cutoff will never exceed 90% of the person with the most quests. In this case, it's IsaacGS. He has 429 quests, so the cutoff will not exceed 386 quests.

To be clear, after we break the 380 cutoff, the cutoff will be 386 when 25 people have that amount, and will not raise until Isaac obtains more quests.

Bounty Hunter quests are not bugged or glitched. They're simply made Nexon-style, which means they have to be done twice (remind you of NLC?) before they go into completion. Think of them as "Continued" versions, even though they do not say that.

I only count those in the completed category, because most questers have the broken quests done anyways.

For the Bounty Hunter Quests, you have to do ALL of them twice to move them into completion.

I didn't count Inverse Attributes for any arch mage, including myself either... so you're quest count is 385.

Hey, at least there's room for improvement with those three Bounty Hunter Quests. :f2:

You must be repeating a quest, and therefore, it's removed from completed until you redo it. End that one again, and count an extra one!

Eh, I don't know if it's just me, but I have all of my quests, aside HT ones, done, and people who still haven't completed them all beat me out. That feels a little unfair to me. I'm lvl 102, so I'm still missing that lvl 105 quest and 4th job quests, but I don't know if I could catch up even with them.

No, that's not how it works... The only quest which does what you just said there is the Cupid's Courier quest in Amoria. All the others have a "repeatable" mark in the completed section of the quest log (It's a yellow !) but they don't go back to available. The only way you could possibly get this quest to go into the completed section permanently is if you did it on the day of your 4th job advancement. The 24 hour repeat time makes it stay in the completed section for that duration, and the Cupid's Courier quest isn't available to 4th job classes, so if you do it directly before making the advancement it will never get the opportunity to return to available and should, thus, be stuck in completed. That's just a theory though, as I haven't had the opportunity to test it. :p

If you DO, however, go and and start a repeatable quest (say Blue Mushmom's) and then fail to complete it again (There are no blue mushmoms to be found, for example), and forfeit it, it will head back into your available list. This is easily remedied by logging off and it will revert back to completed after a period of time has passed in game.

bottom line to end this repeatable quest convo:

when u finish a quest, it goes to the completed log. if its repeatable, it will have a ! sign (still in completed log!) when you can do it again. when you start it again, it will be in your in progress, AND in your completed log.

remember, repeatable quests NEVER go back to available "by themselves". for a repeatable quest to go back to available, you have to start it and then forfeit. and then it will be in available AND in completed. in exception for cupids courier, but thats just a glitch.

Ah yes, now I understand what the ! signs mean in the quest log. Thank you.

To add:

I've already completed the "lucky charm" Bounty Hunter quest several (probably more than 5) times. The last time I began that quest was about 4 days ago. I finally found enough lucky charms today to finish the quest again. Before I finished it, my Masteria completed quest count was 24. After I finished it, the count was 25. So it did take the quest off my completed count while the quest was again in progress.

Anyway, this has taught me to only begin these quests if I can immediately finish them. :) Plus, I've got about 4 more "repeatables" in progress at the moment that I can now go add to my count!

You're making it much more complicated than it really is. Haha When you get 4th job, the quest automatically moves to your Completed section if you've done it at least once beforehand. You don't have to be tricky and do it the day of your advancement and try getting it stuck or anything like that. :P

Finally got to win at a GM event so that helped my quest list. Jobs are the same as the last SS as seen before.

A couple more things, I had a beginner that had activated and finished a few maple island quests months ago which I recently returned to. I found that he had 2 of the same quest by the end of maple island and the earlier one would not move to the completed side. Also, the old quest where you could get a razor or fruit knife could not be completed at all due to some bug that permanently said my equip slots were full, which they were very much not. He wound up with 27 completed maple island quests and 2 that were stuck in "in progress".

Lastly, Note to those who can't figure out the obvious. In order to do a repeatable quest, you have to finish it first:f7:. I tried to do the lost medal quest without noticing that I still needed it in order to kill my first palpatus before I could obtain that quest. Took me another 35 mins just to re-find the dang thing.

EDIT: Anyone know if where you win at GM quests has anything to do with the quest? I remember seeing them say that a NPC in kerning could also deal with the scroll of secrets. Another quest for me perhaps?

I can hop on my HP fighter that did the whole quest thing of exchanges, but I distinctly remember there not being a quest attached at all.

At most, the NPC notices you have the Scroll of Secrets. They tell you to do the thing, and then you get a box. You have the locksmith open it and give you your prize. That's it though. :X

It's a relatively recent addition (sometime in 2007? That's when mine was done) I don't think Geanie used to work at all, but now it gives you that quest.

there IS no quest in kerning for it. only in ludi.
it sjust a NPC function in kerning, while its a quest in ludi. I just did kerning scroll a few days ago O_o

If anyone spawns Captain Latanic and then dies before they can kill it, no one else can enter that map. The lowest level people who can kill it would be ~8x levelwise, and even then you would have to be a warrior or have HB. :X

I know, but at the same rate, they're thrown in progress by a glitch. They would virtually be void for everybody, which would then mean it wouldn't cause any problems. I'm sure someone's count up there is excluding that quest. :/

Eh, seems weird to me to not count quests that people went to the trouble to Complete just because they're glitched... But hey, it's your thread.

As far as the Angie quest is concerned, that's exactly how it's supposed to work. It's just subquests of a single main quest. There are hundreds of examples of this.

This is a forum, so I'm going to speak my mind and present my opinion with proper evidence.

Harrisonized, in the end you will do as you choose, as this is your thread, but I prevail upon you to change your ruling on quests. This last page people have commented on several glitched quests that, even though they may be finished, you will not allow on the list because they're not in the "completed" area and are not repeatable quests. Your logic behind this is saying that you suffer as well because you can't include your own Elquines quest on there, but so be it.

That, sir, is RIDICULOUS, if I may say it plain. Take this as a PERFECT example of what I'm saying: EVERY OTHER CLASS gets to include ALL of their job quests because none of theirs are stuck glitched, but AMs must ALWAYS have 1 less than they deserve because their quest happens to be glitched?

Harrisonized, if you don't want to count a job quest or honestly any other quest that people have completed but is stuck and glitched, then you HAVE to be able to take away points from other places. Example? If you're not going to count the Elquines quest, then choose a 4th job quest from every class that won't count, because it's the only way to be fair in allowing for the completion of quests. While you're at it, make sure those quests are the HARDEST ones for those classes; as I'm sure you remember, the Inverse Attributes quest is, I daresay, the most involved, long, and difficult quests of all of the 4th job AM quests. There's no reason to not include it if people can submit evidence of it's completition.

You choose to ignore all the work that people put into certain quests simply because Nexon screwed up and left them glitched. I hope you don't claim to be anti-Nexon if you rule on their mistakes over people's hard work, because that would be hypocrisy at it's finest.

Well... nexon said event ended the 28th, so i was confused if it was the beginning of the 28th or midnight the 28th. :f7:

Just asked cause i was 2 damn crystals short of the chair after my free ticket today... and i didn't want to buy a cs ticket just for 2 crystals if i could still go tomorrow lol XD.

If so, do I get a +1 as well for the Medicine Quest? I'm a Bishop so I had to enter the Cave of Life in order to obtain Genesis... I can show you a Screenie from inside as well if you find that comforting.
Everyone gets the count for "Making the Secret Medicine for Transformation." If I didn't add yous, it's probably because you didn't send a screenshot of it in your In Progress list, so I assumed that you had it in the Completed section when you took the screenshot.

A note to my fellow questers in the interest of fairness:
The Naomi's Invitation 2 quest will expire at midnight PST. I don't know if they will add a new quest or merely reactive the same one, but if you want to ensure that quest is added to your complete list, you need to buy something with your crystals.
Or you can forfeit the quest and it'll jump back into your completed. Then we'll see what they do next month. (OMG, that'll mean I'll have to waste 2 ect slots. :f7:)

Nvrm. I'm VERY certain that it closes tomorrow. Today is the 27th, and tomorrow is the 28th. Since the event started on the 15th (you can count yourself...)

They said it's 14 days, and by terminating the quest at midnight today, the quest would only be out for 13 days, and thus, they'd be lying and someone could spread mass propoganda that Nexon is scamming their customers' NX by ending the event a day early.

So... I'm very positive that the quest terminates tomorrow at 11:59 pm PST.

Actually, could you extract whether or not we can enter the dungeon again after midnight? They DID say that they're reopening the quest a while later, maybe the in-between time is for people to gather the 1500 extra crystals they'd be missing.

I'd imagine you can continue to use tickets to enter the dungeon afterward if you have them, but there won't be any way to exchange crystals nor any free tickets.

Event mini dungeons will close as planned on October 28th, 2008, but will re-open in mid-November. So, hold on to your Maple Crystals and we'll let you know when they're back!
I guess we'll have to wait until the next patch. I think it's going to be released the same day as pirates, cuz they can only add quests each patch. D:

And you're gonna listen to nexon again when we already established they're wrong? XD

What I'm saying is, they'll probably remove the event coupons from the CS tomorrow. However, if you currently possess tickets, then you will probably be able to use those to enter the dungeons even after the quests end because nexon likely won't change the portal controls (I don't even know for sure if they can do it at all.)

I used to think that, too. If you complete Brand Materia twice, it goes into Completed. It has a "Continued" version, like many of Nexon America's custom quests.

Cupid's Courier doesn't count until you reach 4th job. (Because after you reach 4th job, it automatically moves into your Completed section.) The reason for this is that Nexon designed it to pop out pre-fourth job.

Someone tell me why Assignment of the Sandcrew doesn't count again? I'm too lazy to read through this mess.

It's obviously glitched and clearly SAYS COMPLETED. Splitting hairs like that is kinda stupid.
It's explained in the first post, but I'll explain it again.
The only broken quest that counts is Elquines, because although it's glitched the same way as Assignment of the Sandcrew, it's a Job only quest and would lower the mage's score unfairly compared to other classes. Assignment of the Sandcrew is available to all. Since everyone has this quest, apparently completed, it wouldn't penalize anyone to keep it off, and it'd make counts more accurate.

I know that it is, however I hadn't checked with the Hectagon necklace in my inventory before, so I thought that might alter her options (which is quite possible) but it didn't. It was worth a try though.

When it comes down to it though, the thing that seperates people on the top part of the list is from maple island quests and/or event quests since you usually only have a one time chance at those.

With thanksiving coupon things coming again, and if they are the exact same quests, i'll gain 20+ while some people [i.e. Isaac since you're the only one i can think of] already have most of them done, unless your high event quest total is from something else won't gain any, moving me and most likely other people way up the list.
that would assume that I did them all, which was impossible. There were, I believe, 6 quests per store, and 6 stores, which would imply that there were a maximum of 36 quests available. The event last year only went on for 28 days, so at most you could only have gotten 28/36. I didn't even get that many of them; I only got 24.

This is what repeating event quests does, though. It gives the advantage to newer characters. Then again this whole thing assumes, quite simply, that the quests will be the same, which might not be the case. As was stated in the other thread, the Best Buy NPC was removed from NLC in the last patch. It wasn't an accidental removal, either, as Cassandra was moved up to totally replace it.

either way I can still get 12 quests out of this, and by getting to 4th I'll get like 6-7 more, so i think I can hold the first spot. xD

I would like to point out that at this time, the quests could be redone entirely. It could be exactly like the Maple Leaf Crystals quest: One quest to get the allowance, and another to trade in for the card. And then they are just repeatable for each NPC (either once per NPC or just one quest, regardless of who it is through, like the pirate one).

We'll just have to wait and see.
