View Full Version : Why are people so crazy over FMA?

Especially fan-girls in America. I don't get it. Yeah, we all know you love Vic Mignogna's voice-acting. I think he's okay, he's a voice-actor in "Ys: The Oath in Felghana" too, btw. Point being, I really do not get it. I just think it's the wild and crazy fan-girls that's turning FMA into sh`it. I used to like it a lot, and now I just think of it as another average anime. I love the plot-twists in FMA, but that's about it. Because at times, I'm unsure of how things are going to turn out. That's why I enjoyed it, but I don't see it as god-tier or anything.

People make it look like it's the best.

This is really why I'm staying far away from crap that's been Americanized. I know a lot of girls that are overly obsessed with the English dubbed ver of FMA, I doubt they even watched the Japanese version. I've seen both (1st series), and I'd say that the Japanese version is superior only because I like Ed's voice more in that version.

I've never watched FMA because the plot never really appealed to me.

I hate dubs; they tend to suck.

FMA, I would have to say, had a better dub than a lot of other stuff ive watched (imma point at Melancholy of Haruhi during the Endless Eight, specifically when Mikuru calls Kyon crying).

As for FMA:B, its lower than the first run, mostly because of how Alphonse sounds.

While at a convention, sitting at the opening ceremony and waiting in the autograph line, the fangirls drove me CRAZY. They couldn't stop talking about Vic. When he appeared on stage, the screams hurt my ears (I was sitting right in front of them). I was there for another voice actor and couldn't care less for Vic, but I do enjoy the anime a lot for the story.

Sadly, I've yet to catch up to Brotherhood...

It's cause the appearance of raving fangirls reduces the value of enjoyment of an anime by at least 2 degrees :f3:
What's weird is that Vic has the clossest thing to Japanese voice actor/actress celebrity status out of the voice actors over in NA.

It's not weird at all. It's the fangirls supporting him. I'm not saying his voice-acting is bad, once again, but the fangirls are ruining it for me.

Just like those fanboys ruining everything else.

I can only think of video game console wars. For anime... I have no idea where this is the case.
