I was considering leaving Flash Jump at Lv11 and maxing Chakra, Shield Mastery, and Dark Flare. In the post-BB Chief Bandit build thread, nobody mentions sacrificing max Flash Jump.
So I was wondering if someone could show me the range difference between Lv11 and Lv20 Flash Jump.
Or at least tell me why it must be maxed.
I can't give you a range comparison but Flash Jump is a skill you will be constantly using. Training, bossing, transport - you'll be using it all the time. The same really can't be said for Chakra as it is time consuming to cast, potting is instant which has a consistent effect and I can't think of many good uses for Chakra besides the Mu Lung Dojo. Just a personal opinion that points in Chakra should be sacrificed for Flash Jump as Chakra is one of the lowest (if not the lowest) priority skills.
More range = faster map covering = faster training.
You can start sacrificing points from shield mastery, chakra and dark flare - but I'd cut all 9 from dark flare. With shadowers auto 45% avo, invincibility frames from skills and taking less than half the mob damage (meso guard), dark flare is not going to do THAT much.

I have no clue why you would need shield mastery.... Bosses are like nerfed.
In JMST, I was able to max everything but shield mastery which was left at 1. Worked out fine even with sub par HP.
I'm personally sticking to my build.

Its hard to explain in words, but I could definetly tell the difference between level 11 fj and 20 on my DB. I would highly recommend not dropping any points from it for anything else

The first left Chakra, the second left Dark Flare, the third left Shield Mastery. I guess I'll be dropping Chakra since Dark Flare is supposed to be a party skill, and even less damage with Shield Mastery would be nice.
Thanks for the explanations.

TDark Flare is supposed to be a party skill.
It counters the damage done to you, how is that a party skill? If it works for the entire party, which I did not test in Tespia, then dang that shit just became awesome.

Description Temporarily summons the Dark Lord's throwing star. Party members nearby will reflect enemy damage. Cannot reflect more than half of the enemy's Max HP.
Max Level: 20
One would presume "Party members nearby" means it's something for your party.

Dark flare damage is calculated before damage reductions

Great, much much better for bossing than I thought. Always nice to be pleasantly surprised.
