View Full Version : Why limit a single weapon type to just one type of class?

I've been wondering about this for quite some time: why are there only Swords for Warriors, Daggers for Thieves, Guns for Pirates and Bows for Archers? Why can't they make Swords with DEX requirements, Daggers that need INT and give M.ATT, Guns that take some LUK to hit the target and Bows that requires lot's of STR to use?

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that there could be things like Bow Warriors, Dagger Mages, Gun Thieves and Sword Pirates. There could also be Gun Archers but those would probably need something like a rifle rather than a "Gun", which would be a new weapon type.

A few ideas for new jobs if Nexon would start making certain types of weapons for other classes:

Gun Thief:

Focus on rapid fire and shooting while jumping/running/moving.
Could use Dual Guns(only an aesthetical difference, wouldn't require anything other than another Gun showing up in the other hand just like with Knuckles).
Who wouldn't want a Gunslinger with Thief exclusives like Haste, Flash Jump and Shadow Partner?

Dagger Mage:

Could have melee attacks as well as long(er) ranged Magic.
Possible to combo melee attacks with Magic easily, which would make the class fun to play.
Could work with the old Mage classes too(the weapons, that is).

And there would be many more possibilities.
