Does NEXON use LM Hashing? Because it sure as hell seems like it; whenever I try to use special characters, it says my password is incorrect until I reset (AKA, spaces and unicode). Basically, the only thing that would protect the user in that instance would be getting the multiple failed attempt ban, the ID, and the PIN, all of which are sadly lacking in security as well...I really don't expect much from them, but that thought was kind of chilling, lol.
