My science teacher doesn't explain things before giving us homework.
She gives us the homework, and then the next day, lots of people complain about not knowing what to do and then the teacher gets angry. THEN she explains what to do.
.... she must be messed up in the head.
We're supposed to be taught what to do BEFORE getting homework, not after.
Thank God I already know the stuff we're doing right now because of my random internet searches throughout the years.
I don't know what I'll do when we get to something I don't know about though.

Oh my God, I know that one all too well.
During my 11th and 12th (Junior and Senior) years of High School, I went to a off-site academy to learn about computer networking crap. I had a teacher that was just like that.
We were often just told to read the material and figure it out for ourselves. There was only two others in the class besides me, and they would just sit there and play emulators all day long. They would use the lab routers for their own fun, and not allowing me to complete my lab worksheets. The teacher didn't care and would issue As to us.
While I'm sure some people see that as a God-send, I left that class knowing damn well near nothing about what I was supposed to. Since the material was all online and my access revoked after I graduated, I never got a chance to learn it. Biggest damn regret ever.
.... she must be messed up in the head.
Ever since "No Child Left Behind" came into play, I remember my teachers going insane and being too occupied with the pass/fail rates to even give a damn if anyone had some real problems.
Then there's the people who become corrupted by money and tenure. And they'll get away with it unless they did something like beat the pumpernickel out of a student.

Meh... this is what my english class is turning out to e. except it's my lack of attention that makes it that way =P
But in my stats class, i can figure out all the crap he teaches by doing the HW in class, which means i get a better understanding by doing it first. I suggest instead, you try to learn on your own. This will be better for you in the long run i suppose, since (i assume you're in High school still, if not please disregard my statement) college will probably be all study based; no teacher-student relations... =O

I don't have a problem with studying. Give me a test? I'll study.
I do however, have a problem with being given homework without any explanation on what to do and then getting yelled at for not knowing what to do
Sometimes there are things you just can't figure out yourself in 1 night
(homework is always due next day)
