Thanatos Hypothesis

So I was thinking about Thanatos on my way to Papulatus, and I decided that he was facing away from the screen, as opposed to towards it like most other monsters. Kind of like how (though more obviously) the Tauros in the Sanctuary face away from you.

After thinking about it I decided to crack out the ol' Paint.NET and edit the image of Thanatos to what I think he would look like from the front. I decided to keep with the look of a blackened-ethereal skeleton, and gave him ribs and a black skull. I think it turned out alright.

That's kinda what I imagined he would look like too. Just a black face with glowing eyes.

I never said they definitely are facing backwards :wink:.

If they really are facing away from you, then that makes them a lot cooler because I always figured that that elipticle shape near the top was their eye... So yeah, if they did turn out to look how you depicted them, then yeah, they look better facing us.
