View Full Version : You're being ksed, now what?

I'm curious to know what everyone does in one of the worste "bad situations you can get urself into in this game". Do you beg them to CC, call ur friends, report them/leave/ and mass defame them later?? Some people enjoy ksing and actually coax them to stay. When one of your guildmates is getting ksed, do you go and help them even if you don't know them? I've seen it plenty if times, where one guildmate is getting ksed, and the whole guild goes
Where??
Ign??
LvL class??
Well me personally, when someone is ksing my CB, I tell them one thing, CC or im gonna bring my bishop. Of course they dont believe me. Then I say, look dude, I have a lvl 151 bishop, and if you dont leave i WILL bring him and i will follow ur ass around for the next hour. 90% of the time they dont believe me and i end up genesising a gobis map.

If they don't cc when I ask them to, I come back later with a bunch of people when they least suspect it and ks them till they apologise. I've done that a lot in the past. :<
Off-topic: HI DYLAN.
If I get KS'd, which is really only possible if they do 50% damage of the monsters I'm at with ultimates or mist my map, I'm royally fucked cause I have no friends.

If I really need the help I'll ask my buddies or people in my guild to step in, but generally if they feel like taking the channel and don't change after I ask nicely I just leave.

It depends in what kind of mood I am, usually I ask nicely and if they don't leave I'll just cc. Sometimes I decide to go into an all out KS war :f3:

First I ask them to cc / see if there was an argument earlier with party members. If that doesn't work talking to them, I will usually cc. If it's during 2x event or something with no free maps, I'll ask my guild for help.
Jesus your lazy Mason.
I'll have a little battle with them. I love the competition. x]

Depends. I ask them to change channels politely first. Then if I'm somewhere deserted, or I'm entirely outclassed, I F7 + CC. Calling for backup and stuff in the latter case just escalates the war, starts guild drama (DO NOT WANT), and makes everybody waste time, imo.
Otherwise I play a little game of keep-away training with the kser. Unless they're mages, I can ~usually pull it off successfully (except at squids, which happens to be my best training spot :f4:). Judging from experience, it seems that most are too used to people that stubbornly try to outdamage them to do much, so they leave (my side of) the map.
Oh, and retired level 85 Sniper.

I asked them politely to leave first.
"Excuse me, could you please find another channel?"
If that doesn't work, I don't bother to say CCPLZ or anything because I'll be a hypocrite if I did <_<.
So instead, I use the ksers to my advantage.
I lead them to believe that they are actually ksing me, where in fact they are just getting rid of the crappy spawn, giving me more and more and more spawn and exp :P.
Then they get angry that I'm helping them, and continue to "ks" faster.
Then I change my routines to best fit my situation, and 98% of the time end up benefiting rather than losing.
Usually I find some nice item in front of them and the get pissed at me and leave.

Most of the time I keep quiet and tough it out until they leave, which happens 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time, I don't care enough (or maybe because I don't train..) or I already have people with me who are substantial defence for ksing intruders.
I ignore them and hope they leave because I'm a non-confrontational wuss.

Hmm these are my steps.
1. Ignore it for a while.
2. Ask them to change channels politely
3. If in this case the maps are empty tell them that
4. If I don't feel like dealing with KSing, I'll just leave if step 3 applies,
5. Ignore them again so they get annoyed.
6. Strike back.
7. Call my homies to help me if applicable.

I sit there and wonder why someone is trying to ks a 140 bishop.
Generally, I ask nicely for them to leave, but if they don't, I'll just continue as if they weren't there.

Seconded.
That and it's pointless.
You'll end up wasting more time 'KSing' and getting less experience than you do actually training.
Size up your KSer, if they're stronger, leave.
If not, wait until they leave. If they bring some other 'pro', just leave.

I was mass ks'd by Benev back when I was 7x cause I stopped playing buyers for them and they brought in around 6-7 12x people to ks me at Herb Town pirates. I just didnt care and continued training. I actually got better exp with them there than I did soloing. It was also hilarious when their 12x priest died at pirates for some strange reason (he blamed it on lag or a popup)... ah good times.
Nowadays, when people try ksing me, I first say to them "can you change channels please? (its sad, but that's the fastest phrase I can type on maple these days >_<) and if they refuse to leave, I ask them "May I ask why you're ksing me/not leaving my map?" and I go on and try to talk to them. Usually they leave cause they cant find an answer that can justify their conscience or they find me "so annoying" they decide to go try picking off someone else's map.

I stay quiet and continue KSing, but I hardly get KS'd unless I've really pissed someone off. When I'm on my low level fighter and I'm getting KS'd, I always have my friends Bowmaster that I use as an SE mule waiting outside ready to KS anyone that comes in and bothers me. =)

Depends on the character and where I am.
For example, if I'm training Shinobi at Himes, and someone starts KSing, I'll ask some guildies for help. If it's somewhere where I can easily KS them, I stay and KS. <_<

If I know I can outkill the KSer, I'll give him a couple of minutes of ignoring until I verbally go off on him. But dang, it's an Arch Mage, I just pray to Christ that he gets bored and leaves. Those fuckers can KS anyone they want and not even give half a shit.
No offense you Archs, but when one of them come in to my map, I usually find myself forcing myself to be an ass-kisser by saying "Please". I can't stand saying please to people who think it's cool to just run in and Blizzard/Meteor everything.

Most of the time I call my guild since they're usually in FM merchanting so they are not that busy and can help ks whoever it is out of my hoodoo/voodoo map (or when me and my friend go there Wolf Spiders). When a 13X NL and the rest of the guild I'm in comes the people usually leave shortly after.

Wow, I'm surprised how many people give in to KSers. If someone comes in to KS me, doesn't matter who they are, I'm not giving up my map. I'll call over friends if need be, but I mostly try to handle it for myself, by talking it out or just plain fighting back.
The way I see it, it's MY map. I was here using the map before you, and you have no right to take it away from me. If you're walking down the street and some guy takes your money, are you gonna take it back (or at least make some effort to fight back, as in calling for help) or just let him have it? =\

ks back until they cry to there lil guildies. One time I was being KSed at fog, yes, I was by myself but I kept up the spawn. Then this fighter comes in and screws up the spawn and refuses to party which pisses me off. So I call in a guildie then we ks blah blah blah he gives up.

When I was still training at Voodoos, the only way I could make a KSer leave 90% of the time was by not say anything at all. All I did was continue to go back and forth and kill things, as if they weren't even there. Even though I am a Crusader and I can't kill things as fast as a Hermit or Archer, the KSer soon falls under the assumption that I really don't care that they are there and that I am not leaving, thus ruining the fun for them. Usually they would leave after a minute or two, but some would stay for around five to ten minutes. The small 10% that would actually stay and emulate my tactics were the ones that got me to leave, but not without first silently battling it out for at least 30 minutes.

I don't run into people like that at all anymore.
o.O
IF someone comes into the map I'm training in, I wait to see if they go and CC, and if they don't I either ignore them and continue, or I ask them politely if they could change channels/party/whatever.
If they don't want to CC or Party and then start to KS me, I ask them to stop, if they don't listen I would Defame/change channels, and if they follow me I'll either log off or go into the CS for a couple minutes.
If you're walking down the street and some guy takes your money, are you gonna take it back (or at least make some effort to fight back, as in calling for help) or just let him have it? =\

Seriously though, it's good to have friends for this type of situation. I typically do not KS others, but if someone's trying to take my map, I sorta have to. Most of the time, one of my friends or guildies will come to help out. However, I sorta prevent the problem myself because I usually take the "second best" maps. For example, when I should have been at Voodos/Hoodos, I went to Water Goblins because people didn't KS me there. I am also not a hugely rude person so I don't get KSed as much.

2008-07-12, 08:07 PM
I talk to my ksers. I'm pretty rude and annoying at times myself, so that helps in my advantage.
I don't call friends for help XD pots are expensive, and as a bishop, I fully understand the trauma of spending millions per hour on pots T__T. But I do mention it in BL when I'm being ksed, somtimes in GC as well. Friends come if they want. They ask me if I need help though.. normally I say no.
I'm trying to fight my own battles. But yeah, I'd still stay on my map. I have no rush to level anyway. The KSer can stay if they want, I'll continue to gene haha. As long as I hit it once, I still get exp anyway, and I hit 15 monsters at once.. so bleh.. w/e

I rarely get KS'd. And if I do, it's nothing major... I always beat them anyways. :D
If it's a serious situation, I ask around if anyone knows the person. If yes, have them get them away. If no (or they just dun listen) I ask them to leave nicely. Second try, I ask them why are they being so bothersome. Third try, I just say "Okay, have fun KSing me then :D" and even though I don't KS them as bad as they KS me, they get bored of me like 5 mins later and just leave. ^.^
ProTip: If you're being KS'd and ignore'd, just stay quiet and kill kill kill. :D

err, i haven't been in one of these situations in a while, to be frank. the last time was on my little baby spearman. a friend and i were getting KS'ed at Ant Tunnel II by some 5x sin and her 2x rogue bitch. she kept insisting that we were 'fun to KS' until i brought my CB and just followed her around for the next couple of hours. a few friends came to defame her and KS her, so it was worth it. :]
i hate KS-ing in general, but for some reason, i find KS wars fun to engage in, lol. in the end, you forget who's 'side' you're on and you just end up trying to farm as much EXP as possible. oh yes. <3
but yah, when i get KS'ed, i just try to call on my friends :x i don't do this normally since most of them are busy GRINDANZZZZ, so i try to stay to myself.

I NX/meso farm out of KSing situations. If one person KSs me, I save their name and KS back repeatedly on various 15x-17x accounts, and along the way save the names of friends who help them and do the same to them until they cough up NX or mesos in means of a compromise.
Most recently, moogle55 gave me 1.5 mil, lol.

Ignore them, keep on training if it doesn't impact my leveling speed too much. If they start trying to fling insults I just insult them back, usually with hilarious results on my end. Last resort is asking Bishop friends to come and Genesis the map, but that rarely happens.

Back when zombie maps were superawesome, and some thief ks's me, I politely ask them to cc, or else I will. Sometimes when I'm just not in the mood, I'll borrow my hubby's hermit and have a go with them. It's funny cuz then THEY start crying and begging to be let go.
Presently, on my bishop, they generally attempt it, and then decide to give up after a short while. Either 'cause they realise its a bishop's map they're trying to take or they realise I'm just not budging anytime soon.
During 2x events, I tend to not want to train (2x exp = 2x lag + bitchy people + less maps) and instead, end up babysitting guildies at voodoos or wherever needed. It's funny, 'cause even though I'm sitting right there, they'll attempt it. Eventually when I feel they think I'm afk, I actually ks them. Even then, they'll still have a go at it. o_O what is wrong with these people? From stubborn 4x sins to stubborn 7x dk's, they'll still have a go at me regardless of whether I'm a bishop or not. lol

If someone starts to KS me, I'll do one of three things:
Ask them to change channels,
Leave and find somewhere else to train,
Point out how weak their damage is (this is my favorite method).
The last one results in the person spending a good 5 or 6 minutes arguing with me about how uber 1337 their damage is, and then they usually change channels.
If I get KS'ed, which is really only possible if they do 50% damage of the monsters I'm at with ultimates or mist my map, I'm royally fucked cause I have no friends.

I can't ks for my life...
If someone is KSing me, i usually just ask politely for them to change channels.. If their ignorant and stupid, and depending on the map size, i will either avoid them or kill at my own pace-extremely slow mind you...
This happened to me at Zombies when they were semi popular. I would be killing the top bar (yeah the map revampings ><) when some person comes in and kills.
The thing is, I killed really slow back then, so spawn would suck and they cc by themselves =)
Now i really can't do anything with ksing without risking my own life (low hp at high damage monsters) so i just find my own channel again ...I hate conflict
