Heh, I didn't see this coming. On August 31st, 2008, EA celebrated the 13th anniversary of the Red Alert series by making Red Alert 1 downloadable (http://www.ea.com/redalert/news-detail.jsp?id=62). Also, there's also a deal with the new upcoming Red Alert 3 this holiday: pre-order it (standard: $49.99, premier $64.99) and you'll get Red Alert 2 for free. That sounds like an alright deal to me.
I really liked Red Alert 2, even though I've only played it several times. The online play is fantastic and challenging. :P

HOLY CRAP!!!! Wow, i can't believe it's been 13 years already since RA1. I remember playing it like it was yesterday.... RA & RA:Counterstrike, i fell in love with those games!
They even made RA1 Downloadable... Sensory overload! Can anyone say Nostalga? I'm TOTALLY grabbing this game as we speak

and RA: Aftermath! don't forget the aftermath! with that godly missile sub! and other stuff... which i forgot but i remember missile sub well... put it on guard in the middle of the water and it'll shoot down any plane passing by in 1 hit! it's the best AA there is! and it's as powerful as the cruiser...
*downloads the game*
ohhh mann this brings back so much memories!

Oh yay... more C&C fans here. :D
Yeah, the Red Alert series is my favorite in the C&C universe. That's why I'm so hyped for RA3 (I'm even part of the beta lul). It's nice to replay RA1 and RA2 though. Those were epic, esp whoever was playing Tanya. xD

Yay
You get 5 installs, then after that you have to call a toll line or wait a week for a customer service ticket for every install after the 5th
DRM >_>
Only steam has it right
*DRM complaint aside*
I tried the beta of RA3. It kinda lagged gameplay wise. I'm going to need better graphics for this.

I own all the Red Alerts (and expansions). Generals was slightly disappointing but still fun. Didn't play C&C 3 though, too graphically intensive... Tanya pissed me off to no end, shes so annoying. I much prefer any Navy Seal. (Tanya: I'M THERE! Me: STFU!)... Not to strategic though, and I hope RA3 keeps that alive. Conscript rush ftw kekeke.

i played through the soviet missions and 4? 5? allied missions of RA3...
and lol... this game's ALL about the hot women in their short skirts ... especially that Allied Liaison officer Lt. Eva McNair(?)... WOW Gemma Atkinson's HOT...
the game's pretty fun otherwise, with all factions having so much differences and way to build up a base...
and Tanya isn't as annoying in this one... 1: her voice is more woman-like *less brat-ish* and no evil laugh... and she can blow up vehicles as well as buildings =b but i think Natasha's superior than Tanya... because of the laser guided Air Strike ability instead of going close to blow it up... the command responses actually make sense and sometimes their chatter are quite funny... and the best part, is the tutorial... it's just ... LOL!
great game!
