FM or MTS which do you prefer?

I dont know if im one of many of a few but Ive totally pretty much ditched the fm and having a store anymore. Im just selling everything I can on mts.

Once I have a mule full of items that are non mtsable then I might get a store but as of now, stores are redundant for me.

As an Islander, I've never even seen the FM ;)
I use my Islander as an MTS Merchant - 5k is quite a lot of money on the Island and it gives me the will to train.

I use MTS to sell stuff that has a good meso:NX ratio (anything better than 1mil meso:500 NX) and FM for selling everything else and buying items.

FM because I can't sell anything on MTS for my life.. I end up buying NX with meso anyways with a good rate so it's all good. =p

I'm using MTS for interserver stuff (eg. Horntail drops where they're not really available on some servers) and general earning NX for stuff I don't want to pay $ for.

I'd use the FM if I was more into the game right now. Don't have a shop permit atm, will get one when I'm ready to train (and thus have stuff to sell) again.

In the year that I have played I have rarely ever used the FM and I have never used the MTS. I usually went to Basilmarket for buying because of the low prices. I also used Basilmarket for selling because I never could buy a shop that didn't require you to be there. Although, I rarely ever sold things anyway. I never got good drops.

The only time I ever used the FM was to give merchanting a shot, but I failed miserably. I made about 15mil in at least two or three weeks, which is horrible.

I used MTS before the taxes, it was such a good way to make NX. Im not too good with MTS now, with the taxes so I dont really use that. I market in FM now, pretty good way of making money.

I prefer MTS to the FM and would use it a lot more over FM if charging NX for MTS weren't such a pain...where I am in Canada the cash cards cost $30 for 25k NX whereas if I charge through paypal it's $30 for 30k NX.

I love being able to search for items and then being able to purchase an item immediately off that global list. For FM I use owls, and owls cost quite a bit of NX themselves. The search results you end up with are annoying to use anyway. Also, not having to stay logged in the game to sell my items as I would have to with a shop permit is another plus.

As someone else already mentioned, MTS is awesome for storage. I have often emptied slots in there while training when they fill up. Also a good place to keep excess potions for when you run out. :P

I usually just put the scrolls that I find in MTS, saves me some RL money. For big deals I still use the FM though.

MTS > FM almost any day, any time.

Selling on MTS means making NX means less real money you have to spend on NX means no real money being spent on NX!

FM is a hassle to go around searching and such.
It's easier to keep refreshing in MTS to find a lower than normal deal and resell.
Plus, the search function allows you to find anything you need (except blocked items) and at your prices :P.

FM is only good if a certain item will sell more in meso than it will in NX.
This usually refers to godly items, where 400kNX is "ZOMG TOO MUCH" in MTS.

I usually sell in FM and buy NX with the mesos. Easier and I still get as much or more NX because of Kradia's crazy inflation. I usually buy through MTS because it's much easier to find things, and again, it's usually a better deal when you compare the NX to meso ratio.

Plus I tend to underprice things in MTS out of impatience. Things take longer to sell. ;[

It takes me along time to get used to/actually use the most new features in MS <.< Both are such hard work though...I'd rather just buy nx. I'm lucky enough to have friends that will sell my stuff for me too :>

I use FM, I only have around 20mil mesos so FM is better for me because I need mesos and I don't mind running down to Target every 3 months to buy 30-40$ NX for my outfit and such.

I recently started MTSing random junk on my mules and it's made more on MTS than the equivalent in mesos. I'm not that much of a dedicated FM vendor but I still use it for things like apples, some scrolls and equips.

I just use the FM. Something about nexon taking a cash cut out of all MTS purchases just irritates the heck out of me, so I refuse to use the system. Mostly I sell on the FM, and bother people off of various selling forums for the stuff I want to buy. I don't do my own scrolling (I fail at scrolling), so it's really hard to look for a scrolled item in a certain stat range in the FM without walking through every store.

Although honestly, the tax thing fucked MTS over in my opinion. I MTS merchanted for 5 days after MTS came out and made roughly 50mil meso and 15k NX in the end, but then taxes screwed me over. :eek:

But I should probably just take it up again. It was quite easy and saved the hassle of running around the entire FM. :eek:

I'm a FM merchant, so far its been pretty good. Never tried out that idea of merchanting in MTS.

I guess the fear of losing your own real money is what stops me from merchanting in MTS.

I am horrible at any sort of merchanting, so I don't like to do much in the MTS, for this same reason. I usually only sell a few things in the MTS that I know I can get a lot for, I don't like bothering with trinkets and prefer to just sell all my scrolls and such with a permit.

I have a full scale marketing plan in action. I have a store in which I sell items for mesos. I buy items for both mesos and nx in mts and resell in a way to receive the most value for them. With extra mesos I turn around and buy stuff to sell in mts for extra nx. I do a lot of buying and reselling in mts in order to make nx. Then I go spend it in the cash shop on pets & clothes & 2x. :cool: I spend way more nx than I ever did before and I don't pay for it now, it's awsome. :f2:
