View Full Version : Would anyone appreciate a Monster level up system?

I've been suggesting a Level up system for the mobs in game to Nexon in order to make the game a bit more comblex when grinding.
Lets say if you have a Drake for an example: It starts off at:
Level 30:
3200 Hp / 100 MP
165 w.att / 0 M.att
110 def / 150 M.Def
75 Acc / 18 Avoid
After a set amount of time, the mob levels up when it is either left alone for a period of time, or it kills another player and absorbs the exp lost.
Just like a skill however, a mob could only level up 29 times since it's spawn level counts as level 1. Accordingly, the mob's stats are increased by a base% growth of 10% of it's original level 1 state stats.
So in the end, the drake has stats of
Level 59
12480 Hp / 390 Mp
643 ~ 644 W.att / 0 M.att
429 W.def / 585 M.def
**104 acc / 47 avoid
(** From looking into the mob data from maplestory, alot of the mobs have significantly lower accuracy/avoid as opposed to real player stats, so these stats would only increase by 1 per level. )
As well, in progression through each level, a mob has a chance to learn stat-increasing support skills that can affect other mobs in the surrounding area.
Bosses like Papulatus / Zakum / HT / Pinkbean or any other large scale boss cannot level up because they only exsist for a set amount of time.
Now the question is, would you support this? :f2:

Oh boy, I can't wait to see the massive ammounts of lag this can generate!
And not to mention ruining places to train for some people!

Higher exp values though. =/

great. now i can train on snails until level 30 while low levels have nothing to kill
this is just a ridiculous idea, blarghy113. it would never work unless we were given an individual choice and that would be too hard to implement. better idea would be making easy/normal/hard mini-dungeons with varying monster levels.
Also, hurray for changing training areas every x amount of time!

Or maybe the base level up % increments were smaller than 10%? =/

It's just an idea dude. Don't have to bash it with a wooden club.

You all day gets pretty boring. Wouldn't it be more better to have a mob that DOES something new every once in a while than just agro+ spam 1 animation for hours on end?

Sorry =/. But ya gotta think things out, y'know?
I always thought they could have monster level ranges instead of set levels, so like a slime is lvl 8-12, with different stats and exp, or a blood harp being 80-86.

I guess, been playing too much disgaea 2. =[
MapleAdditions
But poor idea anyway. It discourages exploring. Why go into a new area and get trounced by mobs that have leveled themselves up?

This isn't the only one. I'm sure we will see another 10 threads tomorrow with 10 new "ideas"
OT: This wouldn't work. Just to be a jerk, I would make a level 20 suicide mule. constantly kill myself on snails so new players get screwed over. Or how about level 200s going around committing suicides nonstop just to make mobs stronger?

Better idea.

Let's make it better!
Each time it hits/kills you, you'll lose xx amount of mesos (based on your level) and maybe also an equip. That would terrify the crap out of people! : D
Then make Nexon sell an item that prevents meso and equip loss.

Buddy, you need to learn to not take things so personally. If you truly like your ideas, discover why they have been criticized and see if you can remold/salvage them to operate within the framework of the counterlogic provided by the critiques. Telling people to stop flaming makes it look like you had a passing thought and wanted to make it seem like it was super well-developed and fabulous by posting it as a thread on a big forum, but in the end it's just an idea and you don't want to feel hurt because a few people around the world don't like it.

And this? 'scuse you, but some of us here did that all day till 200 and were able to deal with it. It's called a Netflix account, my friend.

Speaking of monsters, I'd like to see a system with hypnotize implemented where once a monster is hypnotized it acts as some sort of attacking pet that levels up indefinitely and heals hp once inactive for more than 2 minutes.
Edit: i should mention that it stays with you till it dies and can buff you, even if you leave a map.
