Who are we?
Symmetric was formed on April 4th 2008 by a group of close friends who all have been playing MapleStory for quite some time.
Now you may be asking, why the name Symmetric? At first it was just a cool name we came up with, but it does have a meaning. Symmetric meaning all members being the 'same', making it a close group of people who can get along with eachother very well. We also have a white heart as an emblem. The heart's symmetric, and it also shows the great love between everyone in guild! :P
The age of the guild members varies from fifteen to fifty years. Most of our members live in Europe, some of them are from the USA. Guild members often can be found in our headquarters (Channel 19, FM 6). You can also find us training, bossing or PQ’ing together.
Currently we have 40 guild slots. We would like Symmetric to remain a small guild (50-60 slots max). The reason we would like to stay that small is that we would rather be a more exclusive guild in which people get to know each other well. After all, your guild should be like your family! Besides, more slots means usually more drama, which is the last thing we want.
Our Guild Forum is also a part of Symmetric. Therefore we encourage all of our members to be active not only in game, but also on our Guild Forum! Boss Runs and Guild Events are also posted on the forums, so it's important you're active here if you want to join them.
Requirements
- We only accept ranked people. If your character is not on the rankings, then don’t bother applying.
- Our level requirement is level 100 and above. On rare occasions exceptions will be made but don't count on it if we don't know you yet.
- If you just want to join for Zakum, you’re not welcome. You'll be joining the guild as a Trial member, and Trial members are not allowed to go on any Symmetric Boss Runs. Only if you get to stay after the trial period, you're allowed to sign up for them.
- We do not accept hackers, scammers, guild hoppers, spammers or anything else that's bad. Your fellow guild members, Jr. Masters and me will check up on you. If any of the above is discovered, measurements will be taken.
- Before asking us to join, read our Guild Rules in the spoiler below. If you want to join Symmetric, you'll have to agree with these rules.
Guild Rules
1. Most important one of all, always be respectful and nice to all members in the guild. We are all in this guild together to have fun and do lots of things, not to hate on eachother. :P
2. You like leveling fast in a non legit way? If we find you hacking, expect an immediate kick from the guild without any discussion. Also if you aren't currently using hacks but we do find out that you have hacked in the past, then you'll be kicked as well.
3. There will be no spamming in guild chat or on the forums. There is no need for this, our members can perfectly see what you're saying in guildchat without spamming it 100 times, as for the forums, saying more than 1-2 words would be nice. Also another thing I used to see alot, if you're trying to sell something in guild chat, please don't add the @@@@@@@@@@@@@@'s after it, it only annoys the other members.
4. When talking in guildchat, try to keep talking English. When only people are on who speak your language, then it's fine to talk in your language, but when someone else is on, please keep it English. It's nice for those other members to know what's being talked about, and that way they can join in the conversation.
5. Try not to get involved in KS wars where it affects the guild as a whole. Defending your own map is fine, but KSing other people will not be accepted. If there is a need to KS, ask a Jr. Master or me first, and we'll decide if you can KS or not. In most cases this will be a no as there's better ways to solve a problem than KSing.
6. If you sign up for Boss runs, be 100% sure you can actually make it. If you're not sure, then don't sign up, simple as that. It's a pain in the ass for the run organizer to find a replacement once again cause you didn't show up. Also during Daylight Saving, be sure that you know what time the run is for you, don't come 1 hour late. If you don't show up once, you may get off with a warning, but the next time you'll most likely won't be able to come to any of the runs of that organizer for quite some time.
7. Leaving the guild to Guild Quest with some other guild won't be accepted in most cases. We'll be trying to do Guild Quest ourselves when our members want to, and then you can just join in. We, as in Jr. Masters and me, are not planning to keep reinviting you to the guild after you went Guild Quest with another guild, so just don't do it unless we give you permission for it.
8. When you leave the guild yourself, depending on the reason, you may be invited back once. However, if you leave again after that, there's no chance for you anymore to join Symmetric. Of course if you asked permission to leave the guild and come back, then this does not apply.
9. We don't like members talking bad about another member. If there's a problem, tell it to that member, a Jr. Master or me. In most cases it will probably be best if you tell a Jr. Master or me, though if it's just a small issue try to solve it with that member.
10. Don't just be nice to our guildmembers, but also to people in other guilds. I know there's guilds who aren't really nice to anyone, and I'd also like to be evil to them, but there's no need to be the same as them, it'll only make us look bad as well.
11. Sharing your account isn't a smart thing to do, though we can't really stop you from doing it. However, if you plan to let someone play your character, always inform a Jr. Master or me about it. We won't allow it sometimes, when for example someone from one of the evil guilds wants to play your character. If you still let that person go on your account, a warning will follow. Also remember, these guild rules apply to them as well. If they violate the rules on your character, same actions will be taken.
12. Last one, important one too. Always listen to the Jr. Masters and me if there's a problem/issue. We know what's best to do, so don't just go and do things that aren't right, always ask us first, and listen to us.

Why should I join Symmetric?
If you’re looking for fun, a good conversation or just someone to train with, then Symmetric is the right guild for you! The purpose of our guild is making new friends and have a good time while playing MapleStory. We are friendly and we’re not into KS'ing, hacking, scamming etc. We’re looking for respectful and active players.
We'll be trying to do Guild Events every once in a while, and of course Boss Runs! Horn Tail unfortunately isn't available for us yet, but other bosses we can easily kill already. :P
We're still kinda small at the moment, so it can be quiet at some times, but we hope it'll soon be a very active guild with lots of nice members. ^^
How to join?
Before we invite you to the guild we would like to get to know you a bit. Try to contact a Jr. Master or me, and we'll ask you a few questions which you have to answer. If you can't find us on MS, you can always leave a post here with your IGN, level and class. A Jr. Master or me will try to contact you as soon as possible then. Of course, you can also still keep trying to find us to speed up the whole process.
If we like what we see, we'll give you an invite. After this moment, your Trial Period will start, which lasts 1 whole week. After this 1 week, a 2 days voting process will take place to give the current guild members the chance to vote if you can stay in the guild or not. After these 2 days, depending on the voting results, you'll either get kicked (after being notified by a Jr. Master or me of course) or you get to stay in Symmetric! Don't ask any of the members, Jr. Masters or me about the status of the voting, since we will not tell you anything about it. After the 2 days you'll see how it went. :P
It would also be nice if you make a thread on our Guild Forum in the Introduction section (link to our Guild Forum is posted below), so everyone will know a bit more about you and you could answer questions there that other members may ask you. This most likely also gives you a better chance to stay in the guild after the Trial Period.
If you decide you want to join, we hope to see you in Symmetric very soon and wish you good luck on your 1 week Trial Period! :P
