The Nuisance of Tornado Spin

Anyone get annoyed by the way this skill is activated? Especially when training on flying things and getting bumped around a lot so you start to spam the arrow keys to not get knocked off (gryphons/typhons where falling really slows down your training). Tornado spin gets activated and not being able to attack until you get out of that ninja-running animation.

The dash is so short it's barely noticeable.

It would be better if you just hit the key to activate it and then hit it again to do tornado spin, in my opinion. I don't like having the regular attack key in my normal keys, anyways. It also bugs me as an aran when I am at Zakum and I keep rushing into Zakum since I am getting knocked back and instinctivly press the arrow to walk towards Zakum all while I am still spamming the attack key like I have been my whole career.

i didnt train at typhons, so i dont know your pain.

i dont have any issue with the skill honestly. i use it in places where haste is disabled though, because the skill still activates for some reason...

Tspins activation sux too, If I wanted to play an Aran, I would have played one already...

And besides that... you also have to pay to max Tspin... really...

And using it together with Fass will be crappy too, since you lag so much because of the

You can hardly chain another skill after that... FPS crashes to about 5 if not lower... :')

Oh and I don't really see a problem with ts other than the buff lasting like 2 seconds...(wish it was longer)

I could never get TS to work properly before it was maxed and always wondered why cyanne said to chain it to FA. I kept trying to FA, then dash and use TS, which seemed really stupid. I always saw that "special effect" on TS, BS, and FA about it being a certain level, so I just waited until it was at that level befroe using it again.

So what happens is I just use FA, and press the attack key. Just like when you land and use BS, when you land and press the attack key, you will instantly TS (provided it's level 20). Then I understood why it's actually helpful.

Imo, I don't think it's a good idea to use TS by itself, but rather chain it always if you plan to use it. I don't think it works well at typhons, but FA rushes, and TS acts like a second rush which does help on maps like gallos and skeles.

about your first comment, yeah, i don't lag and i always chain FA with TS or BS.

for the pic, at bottom skellegon, i barely see that msg, i guess because the bottom is a flat plat, but still, im really used to FA now and that msg stopped showing to me while i train lol.

Personally, between the levles of 55-70, I don't even see what's the point of getting tornado spin at all. The time to activate the dash and the damage it does that early in levels is laughable. Between those levels, the best thing to do would be using triple stab and slash storm (this skill is normally used that early in order to cover some distance and get into the body of the mob so you can easily hit them all with triple stab). The only time I ever use tornado spin is when I chain it after Flying Assaulter, which I do quite often because I'd easily press the attack button after the Flying Assaulter skill. It's true that when you lag you can barely activate Flying Assaulter, which I've seen several times when the server is lagging and your mobs just stand there. If you truly hate the skill and can't use it, I suggest you use Bloody storm or Upperstab.

Otherwise, for people that normally lag, you'll have even bigger issues using Final Cut when you'd practically kill yourself because you can't use your potions fast enough (this skill will almost always get you hit even if you don't lag and can kill them in one shot because you'd move too fast for the death animation to happen). Even chaining skills in between Chains of Hell becomes hard to do because you take too long to use a skill that you'd most likely get hit before you'd get a chance to repeat the skills. I've seen myself lag sometimes that I'd get nuked by Zakum while in dark sight mode being unable to pot or even attack because I have no mp which is the worst case scenario when you really want to get out of that or you'd die.

edit: Actually more directly related to the opening of the thread, I do agree that when you're trying to move and end up accidentally hitting the same arrow keys twice you'd end up using TS. While in TS mode, you do get sort of stuck and can't properly attack. Best thing to do in that situation is to jump and break the dash animation so just use a skill in the air like triple stab or FA.

I trained at Himes which is a completely flat map and was still spammed with that message.

That's actually right I believe, once you get used to the timing of Flyining Assaulter, you can use it easily without having the message come out so much. It gets easiler as you go I guess, since it becomes easiler and easier to use that you don't really notice it too much (I still wish they would just remove the message and stick it in the description instead though).

I personally get the you are not high enough message a ton because I'm used to tapping keys so that skills come out as quickly as possible. Also, I have it on its own macro, seems to work better that way.

As for tornado spin, I do think there should be an option to turn off and/or change key-sequence activated skills like the tornado spin dash, pirate dash, combat step, etc. I don't run into the accidental tornado spin problem much though though I did when playing my pirate and aran. I guess it has something to do with that double tapping during a skill doesn't register like combat step does and that so many skills move your character. It should be better once you start training with FA -> TS/BS.

I usually cancel out TS' dash just by jumping. Works well for me.
