When I try to type something in, sometimes, when I hit a certain key, it gives me something else. Like, hit the "I" key, the computer types in 3. This is playing havoc on my MS hotkeys. Some of the keys function normally (a=a ^.^) but others don't (0= /? wth?). This started ~45 minutes into MS, and I had to stop, as some things were getting impossible (try typing without the right third of the keyboard)

I had to move to another computer to type this. Plz help! :f4:

Have you tried cleaning out your keyboard or is this a laptop?

It's a laptop. :f7: It seems to press down fine.

edit: I just noticed that it seems to be caused by the "Fn" key. It's locked into working when I'm not pressing it. How do I unlock it?

haha, okay either tell me the model of your laptop or take a good resolution picture of your laptop's keyboard. I believe it is caused by you pressng the "FN + Numlock".

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's caused by the numlock. On my keyboard, in blue lettering in the top right of the keys, there is a second (or sometimes third) function of the key that I can access by pressing the "Fn" key at the same time. Num lock essentially holds down the Fn key for most of those keys. It's the same thing as those numbers and keys off to the right on a standard keyboard.

For example, with my laptop, typing "i have a lovely purple pen." would turn out as "5 have a 36ve3y *4r*3e *en." with numlock on.

It may not be the same on your laptop, but on mine, to turn on/off Numlock, it's Fn + F11 (the F11 key has "NumLk" written on it in blue).
