So, for example, Super Transform's WATK bonus will not override an Apple WATK bonus because Super Transform uses a smart WATK buff.

Arans still suck, whyyyyy? They rushed big bang too much, there should be quite a few balances to readjust things. This is kind of like beta and I really hope they do something about corsairs being too powerful.

Boss music has always stood out in Maplestory as its not as...fun sounding like Ergoth or Horntail. Shows they mean business.
Ant Tunnel and the Elnath dungeon music always felt very creepy to me as a dungeon should i suppose.

If I didn't know the music's from maple, I would have guessed it's from some console RPG. It blends in very well with the area associated, I applaud. I think maple just needs to an update to some of the older town's bgm. They already did it to ludi and such, why not the rest?

Epic BGM is epic.

Maple has some of the best music in gaming. Although I wonder... Is this area going to be a new high level area, with possibly a new region boss?

Yeah, I feel the same.

But.. the new background music is just awesome, really.

It's obvious that what happened is that they didn't expect that such a small game would become the representative game of South Korea and such a popular game in other nations, so at first it started like a simple game with "simple" BGMs.

Now, the BGMs are developing and becoming even more complex, just like the whole structure of the game. Such a popular game needs constant updates, and they probably wanted us to feel like it's growing (and they succeeded).

But yeah, the old areas' background music can't really compare to the new ones. It just feels a totally new game.

Again, I think that the background music is really awesome. GelimerLab in particular really feels like an evil presence. I guess it's the place where the Black Wing members are?

PowerStation also gives a sense of danger. This entire Edelstein thing really looks like it'll introduce many challenges and quests. Hopefully for Adventurers, too.

Wait, why do I have the feeling that Adventurers won't be able to do the quests but Resistance only? This is not fair, as Adventurers should help the others against the Black Mage and the Black Wings, too.

We'll see. Looks like that great and interesting challenges await Resistance. This is going to be really interesting. The game is getting really interesting itself. I hope they'll keep up with this.

Leben, the crystal place reminds me of in WonderKing, there was a place where you could purchase pickaxes and mine to get ores.

Maybe we can do some sort of mining for ores. I think that would be nifty.

2) Buccs just got a HUGE nerf. CSB is no longer spammable (the delay that current buccaneers have was put in), and the invincibility frames were not given back.

The third heading under the skill changes means that the following skills have had their animations changed, not removed. Under booster, it says all boosters except DBs, heroes, and magic classes.

You can go to this continent through a ship from Vic island or Orbis. Ship is a 5 mins ride, which sucks.

In this new continent, there's low lvl monsters, some lvl 30-50 and then the mine is 70-101. There are LOTS of quest (collect or kill xxx, mostly).
Panthers are no longer black only anymore. You can go to a special map with lots of them (like a farm), and you use your catching skills (wild hunter) to catch one. They are just recolored versions of the black one though.

Aaand... I don't know what else. The begining of resistance is just a bunch of talking until lvl 5 or so (Maybe interesting if you can read it, unlike me). Then some quests until lvl 10, then you advance, and then more little quests. Nothing new or impressive or fun. A funny thing is that the job advancement map is the resistance HQ, which is a hidden street (took me a while to find it)

Btw, it's confirmed that mechanic use pirate clothes and Guns. So start farming gun scrolls.

Oh and wild hunter's 4th job skill, the "arrow rain"one (the one that hits the whole screen with bombing arrows) is extremely nerfed. At lvl 1, does 42%x5 times to 15 monsters, and increases 2% damage per level.

"- Viper's "Dragon Strike> delay after the skill has been deleted.

- A crowd of data "Screw Punch> skills have been reset after the delay."

What is this meaning for Dragon Strike??? As far as I knew Dragon Strike had no delay, are they adding the delay back!?!?

The 2nd one I can't even make sense of that translation.

The animation for that would look pretty hax. It happens sometimes now in GMS, when you're transformed and cast DS, and your transformation runs out in the middle of the skill. You're able to walk in the middle of the animation.

Anyway, change of delays to these 2 skills are weird, maybe they're trying to revive the Bucc playstyle, but failed miserably in this patch... let's wait for next I guess.

It's a simple skill with a simple purpose. It doesn't need a ridiculous animation, you see it a hundred times anyway.
The new booster is just easier to look at than the old one.

This is a game where visuals are everything. You spend your time to see bigger numbers, cooler sprites and animations, and wear prettier equips for prettier numbers. Graphic improvements are always welcome.

Actually, I wish they had actually revamped Victoria to look on par with Eldestein graphics. Going from Victoria > Orbis > Eldestein will feel like going from a 2000 > 2005 > 2010 game, lol.

It looks fine. I didn't have a problem with the old Booster, and it's a little flashier now without being obnoxious.

I'm interested in the change to Boomerang Step. If I'm reading it right, you get a 20&#37; boost to the next 3 skills you use after each BStep? That would be awesome. I'm glad they're finally increasing the variety we see in our gameplay styles. Even spamming only 2-3 skills is better than the way it is right now where some classes like Heroes, NLs, and mages hardly ever have any reason to use anything but one attack key.

This looks really cool, but I wish they would expand on it some more. Throw in small variations in fang length, body structure, raw size, eye color, et cetera. It doesn't need to change how anything works. (ie, bigger = more HP) Just the fun in finding "your own" panther would be awesome. D:

Hm...maybe it's just me but for the maps in that vid--well they certainly look cool but they seem far too, I guess, linear? Like the portals go straight left-to-right all the way through so you don't have to jump or anything to get to the next area, just hold down the right key. I mean it doesn't have to be some convoluted labyrinthine mess but it'd be nice if it wasn't so straight-forward.

Aside from that little nitpick this looks real nice, and I love the music--L>some swing, jazz, or ska background and boss music soon, that'd be awesome. As for the old areas...well I guess remixes would be nice but to be honest I'd prefer having the old music, if only for nostalgia's sake. A remix of Lith Harbor's theme could sound better but it couldn't evoke the memory of my first time landing there from Maple Island and walking all the way to Henesys as well as the original. Ah, I'm getting too sentimental about this.

The thing that stands out to me most is that there is a complete set of Evan equips that have normal stats. All of it is lvl 70 and seems to be open to all classes. It is identical to the cash shop item covers. All I can figure is that they will be gach items.

These sprite changes make me almost think that Nexon Korea reads Southperry, and that they specifically read my "what else should be changed" thread.( I used booster and Cold Bean as examples of skill animations that should be changed). If only they also added the running ability and the set system to all sets as well...

I was impressed by most of the new skill animations until i watched the new rage... It's just the freaking same animation as Dawn warriors. :f7:

I'm sad that they didn't change some of the WK animations. I got Lightning Charge the other day on my WK and the animations for it look incredibly ugly..it seriously just looks like a 3 year old made some doodle and they chose that as their animation.

I agree with Bountyan, the 3rd job WK charge animations look terrible. Compare Holy Charge to Lightning Charge. The coloring on Lightning is kind of an eyesore.

yes u are right. 4th job holy is so flashy and 3rd job fire charge look so ugly. This is worse esp with acb. holy charge acb is nice but fire, ice and lightning acb look like poop. ACB is advance charge, so must at least make it look "advance"!

I still like playing WKs. I'm just saying that if they're going to change the animations, they should have also taken a look at WKs. It doesn't need to be super ultra flashy, just not made to look like it was drawn horribly.

I'm not talking about that one video, overpowered is overpowered. But in general it is a very strong skill
for what should be a support class, any buff is a welcome buff, especially if it keeps us up in the damage game
when comparing to other arch mages.

Well Arch Mages have 1.5x damage from Amp. Factoring that in, CL is a lot stronger than Angel Ray, even after its buff. Plus EWands will boost CL's damage even further in GMS. Angel Ray is pretty slow too. xD

1.2.326 Angel Ray: 630% (+ crit)

As mentioned, potential gear allows well funded players to have ranges 2-3x higher than other players. Bishops were much more popular pre-BB than I/Ls, so it only makes sense that there are more well funded Bishops out there.

- Marksman Boost now gives +15% minimum critical damage.
- Ultimate Strafe's damage increased from 170% to 200%
- Sharp Eyes no longer grants minimum critical damage. It now grants +30% maximum critical damage.

BMs got some nice changes. Not sure how Vengeance works, but 500% damage seems really good + 4 second stun. 95% stun Phoenix is nice, but I think they should increase the duration of the stun to 3 seconds instead of 1 second....

From what I can see now, BM is basically equivalent with MM, ulti strafe = hurricane, both xbow & bow mastery 70&#37;. The only things that seperate them both are Concentrate (constant dmg) vs. Snipe (burst of dmg), Pierce vs. Vengeance.

But so far.... I dun think we know how does vengeance work ?_? :f6: the mysterious skill.

apparently dits work on a chain system so using multiple attacks is more beneficial than spamming, or at the very least BS, dif skill, BS. Personally I would have loved to have seen this system employed on all classes with 4+ attacks making for some very interesting training routines. Imagine using your strongest attacks first to your weakest to effectively make your first job skill marginally outdamage your fourth job ending up with a consistent amount of damage. Or starting with your first job skills and finishing off with your strongest attack like a fking ultimate doing 4x damage. :f6: that seriously sounds like a class onto it's own

The damage boost was unfortunately pretty necessary with final attack only working with u-strafe once and 500k snipe being way too low, especially with apples. Crossbow damage ranges go up around 4x with the new formula and potential system, so without criticals, u-strafe hits about 12x the damage as regular strafe does now in gMS. That's about ~480k per attack using my own MM's damage range as a rough reference, so that should be quite close to 500k considering criticals and the -25&#37; boss damage. So yeah, snipe doesn't really help much, the extra final attacks from hurricane help way more. Also, as a reference, MMs in gMS can already break 200k on a strafe on an apple with all hits criticalling.

That's not true. The threshold for Dark Force/Berserk functions very different after the Big Bang patch. Before the Big Bang patch, Berserk requires being BELOW a certain percent of HP. It is a huge pain to keep it active. After the Big Bang patch, Berserk requires being ABOVE a certain percentage of HP. This recent change now makes it even easier to stay above the HP threshold, making the buff almost always active.

Ditto. Overall I think those animation changes were needed, and look really nice. I'm glad Cold Beam's animation was updated, that was the one that was seriously lacking.


I'm not talking about that one video, overpowered is overpowered. But in general it is a very strong skill
for what should be a support class, any buff is a welcome buff, especially if it keeps us up in the damage game
when comparing to other arch mages.

Sorry, but time to be justifiably pissy: Bishops should never outdps ArchMages on single target mobs. Sorry, but there's something fundamentally wrong with a class that can heal and control status ailments, not to mention resurrect 5 people every 30 minutes, doing the same damage as me when all I have to offer to others is damage boots in Meditate (which is pointless for anyone but Magicians), Maple Warrior (which everyone has), and Echo of Hero (which everyone has and only needs every 40 minutes).

I agree with Justin, ShiiKage, Nexon Korea has no clue what they're doing. At least they have Tespia where they can work all this shet out.


Oh, those skill updates are nice. Liking the Aran and Paladin ones. Critical damage is supposedly crap now anyway, so it's good that they're lowering critical damage but making Overswing stronger w/o Crits, I guess.

Ditto on the Aran updates. Finally Overswing's Double and Triple swing components were buffed by a substantial amount, enough to help offset the severe DPS loss from the nerf to the critical damage system. Can't wait to see what these updates mean for Arans in reality, especially when compared to other classes.

Paul didn't include them, but if you look at the Google Translated patch info page on Insoya (posted on the first page of this thread), there was clearly a change to Dragon Fury. Here's what it says:


6. Evan's "Dragon Fury> Skill bug fixes and effects of the increase in horsepower trigger condition have been relaxed.
- MP holds a master skill is 40-95% at 42 days, you are playing Dragon Fury effect.

As we all know, "magic attack" in Korean translates as "horsepower" in English. Therefore, it appears the change to Dragon Fury is that the magic attack boost from the skill now kicks in when the Evan's MP is between 40-95%. My Evan is only Lv. 36, so I can't elaborate further from the perspective of a player who fully understands the efficacy of the change, so take it as you will. Hopefully that helps!

One final note: Lol @ Explosion changes for LOLFPs. 550% damage is getting very close to Paralyze...it looks like they're trying to give us Fire and Poison AoE mobbing skills, which is an interesting replacement for a Meteor Shower cooldown/mist training. Also, does anyone know the delay of Explosion in order to compare it to Paralyze? I'm curious to see if, on Fire-weak and Poison-neutral mobs, Explosion is the new best DPS skill for LOLFPs. It would definitely be quite a change.

=> 71.43&#37; increase. I'm not even counting the hit increase, which went from 4 to 5 or 6 something.

Old Sacrifice: 350% damage * 2 = 700%
New Sacrifice: 690% damage * 1.5 = 1035%
=> 47.86% increase.

If we can't freaking dragon dance for invincibility anymore, give us another reason to do it. Make it so that x skills casted between Dragon Strike make its damage go up. Instead of making us spam DS for eternity, make it DS, BSB (which stuns triggering stun mastery), and DS again for increased damage, that's pretty sweet play style right there. How about an variable for Barrage that triggers with DU>Barrage? Make combos. :D
