Okay so lately, I have been having some iffy problems with Maple. :[. I have been getting this "Delay lag." An example can be: Pot lag, Freezing a monster, and having to wait 5 seconds for it to turn.. the freeze color.., Macro lag, teleport lag (pressing tele button 5 times before actually teleporting), etc. I have a feeling that it might have something to do with my Internet connection :[

Seeing as I read the thread on how to post your internet connetction, it might be easier to help me out.

Any help is much appreciated. :]

While your connection speed does seem to be a bit slow, I'm not totally sure that's the problem. I have a few questions for you to answer.

1. Have you ever been able to handle the Free Market Lag? If so, then test out your internet connection by walking in the Channel 1 FM to see if there is unbearable lag.

2. What are your Computer Specs?

3. Have you tried downloading large files and taken a look at if the download speeds have drastically changed?

4. How recent is this problem?

1. Yes I have, before when.. I didn't have this lag. I can't even test it out now, Because I can't even stay on Ms without Dc'ing within 3 minutes.
2. Uhmm Lol. In english please :[ I don't understand big computer words </3
3. I don't dowmload anything, all I really do on this computer is play Ms, go on Forums, Msn, facebook, etc.
4. This problem has been happening for almost a week. (Five days to be exact.)

[Ohh I like this color better] :].

I'm glad you like this color better. It doesn't totally kill my eyes.

Since you answered the first question well enough, you don't need to worry about the second. If seems like your internet connections is dying. You've already posted your Speednet test, but unless you have had a previous test, that won't do any good. Do you know how fast your internet connection is supposed to be? 3Mbs? 6Mbs?

You seem to be having similar problems (http://www.southperry.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2197) to another person on these forums so I suggest you follow what Yoorah has suggested.

Timed out pings do not mean there's an internet problem; they could simply be blocked by a firewall rule, and are not an indicator of network performance in this case. GG is not lagging you. lol

Since you said other games are working fine, and your internet seems to be working fine for other stuff in general, I'm guessing that your ISP (or the routers between your ISP and the Nexon servers) have messed up route tables. What this means is, routers might not be able to forward packets to the Nexon servers efficiently. Another cause could be a technical failure at the ISP, causing link congestion. There could be a firewalling/trottling rule on the ISP, which mistakenly slows down Maple's connection. Finally, you might have a firewall on your computer that's screwing with your connection.

Some things to try:
1) Try pinging 63.251.217.13 -- I believe this is the IP for the Nexon MapleStory game servers. Paste the result here, I'm just curious. lol
2) Disable any firewall you have.
3) Unplug your modem, wait about 20 seconds, and plug it back in. This will reset your connection.
4) Some ISPs seem to have bad performance with Maple, except when you have a VoIP connection running, such as Skype and/or Ventrilo, so try connecting to those. I don't know how those ISPs' weird bandwidth shaping rules are written, but it has helped two friends of mine with their lag problems before. I guess they give your connection higher priority if they see you using Vent. Oh well.

But unfortunately, I have the feeling that you haven't made any changes to your PC/network setup to make this lag appear. It's likely a problem with your ISP. So...
5) Call your ISP and tell them you're getting very high network latency (lag) with Maple's game servers. They might ask you for Maple's IP, for them to test the connection themselves.
6) Submit a ticket with Nexon. In the past, there have been lag issues that were caused by Nexon's network equipment. I remember they were asking for people who were lagging to submit tickets, but that was over a year ago. Still, doesn't hurt to do it.

The ones in bold are the ones you should try first. Credits goes to Yoorah because I'm too lazy to retype ideas myself.

Go to "Command Prompt" and type in "ping 63.251.217.23".

I have no idea what to do with the information that is given though. xD

Simple way of doing this is go to click start. then click "Run" Type cmd into it and then you will get a command prompt. Once you have that type

Ping 63.251.217.13

Just like that and take a screen grab of what it says and post it here. I'd like to know for my own info if this comes and goes alot? As said in this thread I've been having the same problem but it also comes and goes randomly. for two day's I had no lag, then I go and APQ and almost DC from pot lag at giest rog >_>. Its been going on for me for 3 or 4 weeks now.

Read my topic it might help more.

Ohh that's better, but there's still some random "Delay lags" But not nearly as bad :]. Meh, I think its just a problem with my ISP, so the the only option right now, which I have no problem with is to wait it off :P

I'd say call them when you get a chance. Also somone suggjested using Skpe while playing MS could help it stay connected because of VoiceoverIP

Okay well... I guess I can't wait Lol. Uhhm I went on Ms again today, and it went back to the same old 'Delay Lag' Soo.. heres a Pic of what the 'Ping' Says.

Also, something to note, I reset my internet, and started up Ms. There was no lag whatsoever for approximately 5 minutes, and then it slowly went back to its original lag.. Something that might be a bit of interest to you guys... o_o.

P.s another thing to note that might help with my problem a lot: I have vista as you can tell from the command prompt window.

Thanks,

Your ping times are good. Lag that goes away on connection reset and then comes back? Odd. Mention that to your ISP when you call them. Sorry, but I don't think there's much we can do. D:
