Hey there. I'm usually a melee only player, but I've been leveling a Fire Wiz lately and I have some questions.
Now with all physical damage classes, 1 W. Atk > 1 of their Main Stat. So, a Chaos Scrolled PAC is better for all physical classes than a PAC scrolled with a main stat.
Is the same true for mages (1 M. Atk > 1 INT)? Should I be looking for Chaos Scroll'd purple capes? Anything with M. Atk on it?
Thanks :) Also, the new Fire arrow is SWEEEET!

1 int >1 MA, since 1 int = 1 ma, but int is also useful for MD (if you care) and has other values in the formula.

1 Int = 1 Magic Attack, so it doesn't matter which one you go for. Like a 10 Int 10 Magic Attack Purple cape would give you the same as a 20 Magic Attack Purple cape.
Just go for the biggest boost.
Int gives 1 Magic, increases MP gain, adds an extra bit to your damage, and increases magic defense.
Magic Attack gives 1 Magic.

Magic Attack gives 1 Magic.
So going by what everyone has said, it would be better to get more INT-focused gear because of MW increasing the amount of INT you have?
Thanks guys =]

INT would be better to stack, yes. Aside from providing 1 magic, it also has another small part to play in the damage formula.
However, MW does not increase stats provided by gear, iirc.

This, though I'm not "iircing" because MW doesn't. I thought it was 100% confident common knowledge that MW only boosts off the base stats.
Anywho, OT: like everyone said, 1 INT > 1 MATK, so typically Magicians stack INT as much as they can, though obviously we invest in MATK where only MATK exists (or where stacking it would be better than INT). Like Phoenix Wright said, it also plays another small factor in the magic damage formula. Sorry to have your logical conclusions fall short thanks to a horribly designed magic damage formula -_-.
