Pap soloing.

How prophitable is pap soloing? I was thinking of doing when I max CL in the mid 130's, but would I make or lose money by doing this? I don't mean after just a few times, I mean after doing this for a while.

If you pap long enough, you'll eventually find some nice stuff. But don't expect to find anything good more often than 1 in 20 paps or so. The rest of the time it's either nothing or a Green Armis. Also, if you're taking a loss on paps where you don't find a good drop, you may want to reconsider.

Its a hit and a miss, and you will miss a lot.

Depends on how much you spend per pap. If its a lot, then I wouldn't recommended it. If you spend only a little per pap, then its fine as the big drops should make up for everying you lost.

Most people won't succeed their first try. It's just for fun and "glory" at low levels. You won't make real profit unless you get real drops but if you max partial resistant, you make around 100-200k (from bags of money and npcing the pots it drops) per pap after subtracting the pot cost. At 13x which isn't low level but it isn't high level, you can kill pap in about 50minutes and takes about 200-300 roots.

It's very hard to find real drops like vemon20, brandish30, blast30, or stance20. Some of those skills are 100mil for a reason.

Soloed about 110 paps ive found 3 hurricane 30's, 1 bstep 30, and like 5 AR30 (only listed the good books screw you infinity!)

Well, that's good because I plan to start papping at lvl 135 and I have maxed partial resistance.

So basically, I won't really lose money from papping, so on the rare occasion I do get something of value I'll make a good profit.

I haven't played in a while but I tried to pap again today.

Pap takes about 30 minutes to solo at 14x (139 is basically 14x). I only used about 8x ginger ales and 3x ginseng roots in that 30 minutes. You can see how cheap pap is for magicians.

You start out pushing pap to the left. Then when it maxed out the bomb summons, lure it to the right. Warriors stand on the left because they have stance. Magicians should stand on the right because your summons can attack from the right platforms. The left platforms are either too close (you get knocked off) or too far for your summon to attack; making them useless.

You'll always profit from pap soloing as long as you aren't chugging potions after every hit or something. However, if you don't get any worthwhile drops, you only profit like 200-500k, which is really not worth the time you spend soloing.

Don't ever expect anything out of pap; it almost never drops the mastery books that are actually worth something.

To above, for some reason I find it easier to position my summon on the left, so I max out bombs on the right first then finish on the left, though recently I've just been pinning it to the left on the top platforms not even worrying about maxing out bombs.

If you're high on hp/mp and you're still at the beginning maxing out bombs, try teleporting into pap when you see the 1/1 animation start. It saves quite a lot of potions because you're only taking a 3.5k-ish hit instead of a 1/1.

I do that too when I'm feeling lazy lol. I don't really mind dispel but having to recast booster while not on a rope takes too long. That and the occasional 2 or 3 consecutive stuns are annoying too.

I don't like standing on the left because it feels like the summon never attacks. I don't know how this guy's ifrit attacks so often.

I've solo'ed Pap on a lv 120 Night Lord, rather slow and dangerous, without an Onyx Apple. =/ If I don't use an apple, I switch over to a Pineapple Chew (30 minutes of 20+ att boost). It's ok-EXP, and crappy if you have bad luck with drops. =x If you get a skillbook, depending on what it is, it may be worthwhile.

At 157 (bowmaster) I can solo a pap apple-less in about 10 - 15 minutes. It doesn't take many pots, since I can puppet right and pin it left, so rarely get hit. So the cost to me is minimal.

I currently have 2 15x bowmasters (one mine, one a friend who has no internet for now), so I go 4 times a day. I haven't gotten anything this week. But I have gotten 2 Brandish 30's in the past, so I keep hoping. :wink:

My sister has a 130 I/L that she doesn't play much anymore. I may give that a try... she says all she does when she comes with me is spam MG. :cool:
