So I just wanted to do a quick breakdown of the +stat% stuff that interested me. This is posted solely for those who are interested to make of it what they will.
Relevant formula (I'm using corsairs for this, but you can do this for other classes by using the appropriate formula):
RangeMax: [(DEX * 3.6 + STR) / 100] * Weapon Attack
Lvl 130 corsair with
Gun:4dex/90att
Cape:2att/10dex
Shoes:2att/5dex
Earrings:10dex
Pendant:10 att Naricain
Gloves: 15 att
Helm: 18 dex/15str Scarlion
Overall: 25dex
Ring: 3 att lilin
Belt: 3 att Pharoah/witch belt
lvl10 Blessing (To apply to more people who don't all have lvl 150 secondary chars)
Oh yeah, Eternal Bullets
Range:2176~3899 (Alex's Corsair Calc <3)
(79+21,STR)
(593+78,DEX)
Anywho:
Let's say you have access to some +DEX% gear and +Watt% gear. Let's say +50% dex or +50% watt (We'd assume it only affects base dex/watt). Let's see what happens:
+50% dex:
Range:
3068~5550
+50% watt:
3258~5836
watt wins by 286 max, 190 min
So clearly watt wins, but by a slight margin only. If you have roughly 5% more available for dex than for watt, go for dex.
But wait, most people train with att pots! So let's try the 12 att NLC pot.
+50% dex:
3306~5980
+50% watt:
3426~6138
watt only wins by 158max, 120min.
How about boss runs though where you might apple?
+50% dex:
5048~9132
+50% watt
4662~8351
+50% dex wins by nearly 800 on the max range, which translates to 3.6k(ish) more damage per hit of cannon... Roughly 14.5k more per Cannon.
So if the same +dex and +watt % are available, +watt% isn't necessarily the best option. It really depends on what your current stats/weapons are. If you have a godly scrolled gun, and only average dex scrolling, the +watt% might be more worth it!
Use Alex's wonderful Corsair Calculator (Or other calculators for other jobs) to find out first! Don't immediately rush over to +watt%!
This has been a public service announcement brought to you by a bored college student not wanting to work on his project!
