I logged in to see about changing some personal information and I saw it asked the question under where you have to submit your last name and birthday: "What is the name of your best friend?" I have no freaking clue...I thought it would always be the Secret Question #2...nice of NEXON to tell us huh? I sent them a ticket...who knows if they'll actually help. Is anyone else having this problem?

When they made you sign up, they assumed that the information you gave was all correct. I feel sorry for those chaps who were under the age of 13 when they first played Maplestory and had to fake a birthday. Nexon's not going to do anything about your Secret Question.
I'm not sure about what type of friends Nexon has, but my friends come and go. And I have way to many to choose a 'best' one. Ah well, guess I won't be changing my password anytime soon.

This wasn't too recently actually. They changed everybody's question answering for when you change your PW to secret question #1 which is "Who is your best friend?" They replaced #2 with #1 when you change your PW now.
Question #2 is used for something now.. I can't tell what, but back when it was #2, #1 was used for actually confirming the person, say for PIN reset, back in the days.

Tried that. They won't. Something about a potential security risk.

Wish it was that easy but they won't :f6:. They want to make sure you're the person that has the account.

I don't know which answer for which question I got from them, but they do actually tell you things if you can prove yourself that you are really the owner. I can actually give an example of Growly (Ryan) of Sleepywood who changed his email on one of his accounts, but it took some time ticket to ticket. Same goes with mine, I had to get an answer to something because I forgot it or something and you just really have to prove yourself. (For me, I provided Paypal transactions though)
Things might've changed from then though.
owell. at least i still know that birthday i put down.
but yea, this happed a couple of months ago D:

Just got this ticket response today:
Greetings,
Thank you for contacting Nexon America's Customer Support team.
We're sorry to hear that you are having this difficulty. Please note, however, that the answer to "Who is your best friend?" is something that was set at account creation and has not been changed. As such, it will be the same answer that you had when you first made your account.
For security purposes, we can neither give out nor change the answer to your Secret Question. With the information you have provided, however, you will be eligible to receive a password reset by us. If you would like this, please open a new ticket with the information you provided, as well as the AccountID for this account.
We hope that this answers your questions. Have a great day!
Sincerely,
GM Tibaroo
Nexon America, Inc.
At least we know we can change our passwords...
