I'm surprised there isn't a thread made. Seriously. I wanted to ask SouthPerry:

"Hey guys, any of you guys have a good idea on what to watch in regards to Romance?"

in the Currently Airing Anime thread, but that would be 100% derailing. I've been reading reviews on various websites, but I'd figured asking for reviews from other anime-fanatics from SP would be even better, because you guys will each give different opinions that might be what I'm looking for. I'd figure this thread would save space too, so there wouldn't be "What animes would you recommend for me?" type of threads popping up everywhere. I hope to God this thread gets stickied, but if not, that's okay. It might get bumped up the ass pretty often anyways.

So, SouthPerry, here's a serious question for you!

I am interested in romance, drama, and tragedy. Lots and lots of drama and romance, especially. Do you know of any good animes out there that has decent quality and isn't like from 1990 or something, that I can watch? Hopefully below 25 episodes as well.

Tl;Dr version:

-Below 25 episodes total (excluding OVAs)
-Year 1990+
-Drama+Romance
-Tragedy and Comedy is optional

If anybody can think of any good ones, let me know. Feel free to give me your opinions on it too!! What did you think of it?I might watch:
-Mahoraba ~heartful days~
-Myself ; Yourself

Seems short and consistent. Also, I use the following site for anime-lists and reviews:

Credits for site goes to butterfli.

REC was a pretty pleasant short watch. There were only nine episodes, with an episode 7.5 DVD special tossed in there for a total of ten episodes- and each episode was about 12 minutes long. Just don't expect too much out of it.

?

I'll look into it. Thanks!

Seto no Hanayome? That's more comedy than romance though. Give me the series you've seen so I don't recommend something you've already watched.

Edit - Honey and Clover might be relevant to your interests.

Let's see, romance... I can only recommend To Love Ru (more comedy than romance id say), and Welcome to The NHK (50-50 ON romance and comedy).

Sure thing, sir.

Elfen Lied
Clannad
AIR
Kanon (2006)
Kimi ni Todoke (dropped)
To Love Ru
Toradora!
Rumbling HeartsMight be more, but that's all I can remember at the top of my head. To Love Ru isn't drama though, I just stuck it in there since it's Romance, sorta. I loved Rumbling Hearts, I thought I was going to hate it, but it proved me wrong.

Seconding Honey and Clover now that I think about it. Look over Nodame Cantabile to see if you'd like that too.

give Ouran Highshool Host Club a try?

Just checked some reviews, and checked it's related tags. Seems 'okay'. I'll probably look into it later.

@Smooth+Spidey: Yeah, Honey&Clover doesn't seem bad. There's a 2nd season too. I'll definitely look into that.

Hmmm... tossing in True Tears and ef- a tale of memories.

Ouran, huh? I wouldn't have thought about that fitting the bill for the requirements, but sure- why not? Alright, seconding that, though it's a bit different than what you and I had in mind for what this thread was looking for.

Yeah, Ouran doesn't seem like something I'd instantly hop on just to watch. If I'm interested, you'll know. Haha. butterfli told me to watch "ef - a tale of memories" as well. Hmm.

Try Hatsukoi limited? I enjoyed it.

Would like the manga from the same author, ichigo 100%, but the manga is best and it's 167ish chapters.

Hmmm... tossing in True Tears and ef- a tale of memories.

Seconding efffuuuuu - a tale of memories.

Along with ef - a tale of melodies and Sola.

And if you pick up Ouran, go for Shugo Chara.

Ef -a tale of memories/melody: Seems like something I'll pick up, for sure.
True Tears: Maybe. 50/50
Honey and Clover: Saw half of the first episode, and though reviews were extremely great, not sure if the anime itself could hold my attention. I'm not sure. I'll probably watch this last.

I'll give comments on Dyx's suggestions tomorrow if I have time. I'll probably start watching Ef first, or the two animes in my 1st post that I've been wanting to watch. Thanks a lot for the suggestions, because I keep them all in mind when I want to watch something.

EDIT: Spidey, looked up Seto no Hanayome. I might be interested in this too! Thanks.

Blue Submarine No. 6

I believe most other animes are trash.

I've seen that on Toonami before. Also, it's not Romance, sadly. ;~; It was a great anime though, agreed.
