Well, I was thinking for a second... "What if people knew some little tricks that they think are widely known, but they aren't?" I hope this helps people to learn advanced stuff from what seems basic. And yeah, some of this stuff may look silly, but it can get to be useful at times, somehow, so don't miss out on anything. Any little tip helps, and I want all of you to contribute. May it be skill uses, pq tips, or other stuff. Feel free to add stuff here, I'll add it to this post! Doesn't matter if it's something as simple as jump attacks, just try to explain the best places to use it and all that.
If you are here to learn stuff, first make sure to find a skill table with all the skills you need to know, and the eefects on them. Once you know the basics, feel free to improve them here.
-While hanging on a rope, recast-time on buff-skills will shorten by a great amount. Incidentally, it'll get reduced to about the same time on all classes, making the skills with a longer cast time benefit more, as is the case with Shadow partner, with a increase over half the time.
-Jumping while attacking/recasting buffs will keep you moving, at least walking longer than just staying there. Of course, it requires jumping, so watch out over your head as you cast them, sometimes it's better to stand still.
-If you mouse over the lower left area of the UI with your IGN and class, it'll display your login ID / World-channel / IGN. This is useful to know your channel in case you have no idea and you're in a restricted map.
Drain improvement:
Who loves to not waste potions? I guess everyone. However, it can be better cost efficient with the proper people. Any skill or potion that improves your attack, like warrior potions, or sharp eyes, improve the damage dealed, and therefore, recovered. However, you can't recover more than 50% your maximum health. This can also be improved with a new ally: A Spearman. All ranged people love them for the increased hp from Hyper Body, but Hermits should be more grateful, since that 50% recovery becomes a 80% over your un-hbed health. That means more recovery per hit... Provided you already reach the top. But if you include Sharp eyes or the likes, it's not too hard to reach. It's quite a lot to thank for, so at least thank them with haste and meso up. It's the least you can do!
Avenger haircut:
If you are surrounded by a big mob, and you think all you have left is punching everyone around, first, consider how tall they are. If they have a proper height, simply take advantage of the ability from thieves of attacking in the air. Use avenger when your feet reaches the top of their heads and you'll hit everything from above. Incidentally, you can now hit to the other side if there's too many, lure them to the same point, and get some space for you to throw some more stars with both feet on earth.
Flash Jump mastery:
Yes, you can jump faster and better now, but what about controlling it a bit? Let's focus on some nice things to do with this skill:
-Jump control: All you need to know here is that if you use flash jump as you leave the ground, the distance will be better horizontally, but at the top of your jump, it'll be better vertically. This means, the first one helps to cross gaps, or move fast. The second, helps to reach high places, and jump over monsters. You can even jump over the headless horseman this way, with a bit of timing. Of course, use haste to improve the results.
-Backjump: Ok, this is like the high jump described before, however, it gives a lot more control, since your speed is reduced. All you have to do is jump facing the opposite direction, then, turn back in the air, and use flash jump on the top of your jump. If done right, you'll reach the place you want. A good place to practice this is the entrance of the Mu Lung Dojo. Try to reach the platform the NPC is standing on! (maxed Flash Jump only). Also, it can work on other places: If you are in a narrow platform, and you want to reach a ladder, first think that you can only attach to ladders when falling down. So if you use flash jump to reach it, you have to be falling already, so, do this jump, and you'll catch it.
-Combat Step: Well, I know this doesn't belong to the class, but this one's more for the looks. First, you need a platform from where you can jump down from. Then, as you jump down, use flash jump. You'll do a little jump, with laughable height, and ridiculous length. However, it looks cool! Kinda. Also, sometimes, depending on the place, you'll go through the floor, and land below.
I R PIRATE:
Everyone knows how a claw wearing thief always gets to rely on his fist when too close to his target. Well, sometimes, it can be a little advantage. If there's an enemy you poisoned, or the likes that reached 1 hp, and it corners you, there's no need to get far from it. Just deliver a punch to the face, and get rid of him. This a very unlickely scenario, but it's still nice to have in mind. Also, if your punch doesn't finish it off, don't waste a second. Chances are he'll survive the following ones, and the only use for this is to save time you would spend getting space to attack. Incidentaly, if you have maxed out Ninja Storm, it would be a good alternative, but if you have this skill maxed... Well, you wouldn't be really reading these tips, anyways.
With a very precisely timed jump, you can make combat step a good movement skill on flat ground. It's very hard to pull off, but you can do step > jump and keep moving quite fast. note that you have to let go of the arrow key before jumping for the momentum to carry on, thus having combat step mapped to a key is better (oh yeah, you can map combat step to a key, so you dont have to double tap the arrows). by the time you land you can combat step again to keep going (Do not mix this up with jump-attack, the jump is performed after the use itself).
