im making a cleric, and i have some questions about builds and stuff.
First. i have a build for beggining. thoughts
Heal to lvl 15 (-12 mp deadline)
Holy arrow Max
no idea next....
Second. Is holy arrow better damage than heal maxed?
Third. Is mp eater more usefull than HA?
fourth. Why di clerics and dk's always party with one another?

First, HA isn't your main attack. Heal is, so you should prolly max it first.
Second, Heal beats HA as long as you're hitting more than 1 monster at a time, and eventually it'll even overpower HA on 1 monster because of the way its damage works.
Third, yes. MPE basically lets you train without pots.
Fourth, DKs have HB, which allows priests go without MG in certain places. And, well, priests = Heal and HS, who wouldn't want it?

You must max heal. It is a necessity.
Holy arrow Max

Invincible, Teleport, Bless, 1 in MP eater

Heal is a mob attack, Holy Arrow is a single target attack. The damage formula for both are very different. Heal is a lot less stable.
Third. Is mp eater more usefull than HA?
Everyone has different views on this. It's your choice.

Cleric=heal and bless, Spearman=HB and power
Answered.

Holy Arrow--
Pros:
Stronger than Magic Claw
Knockback
New move
Cons:
Spend 30 points to max
No MP eater means less money saved
MP Eater--
Pros:
Saves a fair chunk of money
Heal-mobbing is preferred way to train
Cons:
Weaker single-target damage

Gotta keep in mind what your training places are though before maxing one over the other.
5x on - Voodoos/Hoodoos
late 7x (or early 7x with HP equip) - Himes
You can pretty much finish to 4th job at himes, and the most effective attack at both those places is heal (and later SR), not HA. Max MP eater.

Another pro to mp eater is, at priesthood, the difference between you and traditional build priests (who've dropped holy arrow), is that they can go on forever without ever using pots by going mgless. It's not such a large difference, but it is difference enough.
On the other hand, like the above said, you won't want to be using HA on himes since you'll always be mobbing somehow.

Holy Arrow is actually not stronger than Magic Claw unless you're training on a monster weak to Holy. If you're training on a monster weak to Holy, you should be able to Heal (mobs of) it. If you can't Heal it, you've done something wrong.

It is stronger because you only subtract the defense once instead of twice.
There are quite a few monsters that are unhealable and weak against holy.
