Battleship Cannon no longer possible to get.

Describe the problem. Be as specific as possible!:
The quest for the 4th job Corsair skill, Battleship Cannon, is no longer available. Corsairs who make 4th job can successfully complete the quests for Battleship, Torpedo, Hypnotize, and Aerial Strike, but cannot do the quest for Battleship Cannon.

Simply put, the quest seems to have been removed entirely. Kyrin no longer gives it, and it doesn't appear in the "Available quests" tab like all the others.

This leaves all Corsairs who advanced after V.80 without their main attacking skill.

Nexon obviously doesn't work on weekends, that's for sure. As a veteran of the Nexon forums, before they had the VFM program, the Mabinogi forums used to be clogged with spam and hentai on weekends.
And how about Tespia session 3? For Thursday-the entire weekend, those of us who got in were left with this double encrypted monstrosity that caused the game to crash every few seconds until Nexon finally took notice when they returned on Monday, and fixed it with three days left to enjoy Tespia.

I highly suggest we bring enough attention to Nexon so that they fix it this coming week.

Oh boy, my ticket was finally closed. But it seems they misunderstood what exactly I was asking. I copied and pasted exactly what I wrote in the OP of this thread, and it seems they only saw the key words "quest", "no", and "available" which made them come to the conclusion that I was talking about an unreleased quest. They told me that they cannot disclose such information. I sent them a different ticket as feedback. I've no idea how frequently they actually read feedback or anything, but this is what I wrote to them:



I am sending this to voice my dissatisfaction over the fact that the Battleship Cannon glitch seems to still be unaddressed. This is a very serious glitch for Corsairs, as it is our main attacking skill.

I feel as if I cannot take full advantage of my 2x exp card that I purchased, because I cannot train at the speed I would normally if I had my main attacking skill. Training on 2x exp nets me about the same amount of exp I would have normally gained if I had Battleship Cannon. Because of this, I am very displeased, and feel as if my money has gone to waste.

Because of this glitch, I cannot use the 2x exp card to its full potential. This glitch has existed since the .80 patch, and still remains, despite how important this skill is.

Edit - I just realized I should have worded the part about training in 2x exp without cannon = almost 1x exp with cannon a little bit better.

I added a comment for clarity, so that way they don't read it the wrong way and think that I'm training at the same speed even without the skill, even though it's clearly obvious that I am not.

However, the reply I got from this ticket seems to imply that I was asking about unreleased content, which I was not. I was pointing out that there is a glitch in the game that has removed the quest for the skill "Battleship Cannon", which is a VERY important skill for Corsairs (4th job Pirates of the Gunslinger branch).

This quest for this skill has been removed, essentially crippling the class. It was in previous patches, but was removed for no apparent reason in version .80. The quest in question is indeed in the game, but for some reason is not showing up.

I ask that you please look into this matter a little bit more.

Automatic response database. It does a quick search of words in your ticket, and then sends a prewritten response based on what it thinks you meant.

It is currently impossible to receive the quest to attain the skill "Battleship Cannon" from the Kyrin NPC as a Corsair. All other quest skills are available and obtainable at the moment, but this specific quest does not show up anywhere in the game.

The quest is supposed to come from the NPC Kyrin in Nautilus, and is called "Observe the Spirit Vikings", Quest ID 6380. This is a problem that is affecting all servers, such as Windia and Bera.

As you can see from the skill window, the character does not have the skill "Battleship Cannon", but does have all the other skills that are available from that particular NPC, such as "Battleship" and "Battleship Torpedo". As well, talking to that NPC does not show any new quests that are available, and the quest does not appear in the quest window, while two other Corsair skills do.

Hope they think that imageshack is a "trusted image hosting site".

My 2x exp card ran out a few days ago, I don't have my hopes up in receiving compensation for it. In fact, I don't really have my hopes up on them fixing this any time soon. Sticking with the Torp build is pretty nice exp. I don't wanna buy another 2x exp card because of this, but at the same time training feels pretty slow after having 2 months straight of 2x exp and then reverting to normal exp. Though, at Skeles I only get slightly less per hour that Newties on 2x exp with only burst fire.

A thought has popped up in my head. Certain skill quests are activated by having a story book right? Now let me ask too fiel or anyone who does those extractions, was such a thing added? Marksmen have been crippled by glitches for a very long time. To the best of my knowledge there are only 2 lvl 200 Marksmen in all of GMS, and training a 4th job Marskman is similar in most respects to training a 3rd job Sniper. If they didn't fix that, they may not fix Cannon.

My take on it is, quit while you're ahead. Use your current character for Fairy's Blessing and restart into a class that isn't fuucked up.

There are about half a dozen ways a Marksman can d/c by using their skills at the wrong time. Of course it's possible to avoid it, just like you can avoid using battleship cannon.

I've been lucky enough to experience a few gltiches with the archer class myself (yeah not as many as a Marksman because I'm a bowmaster). I agree that this NEEDS to be fixed. When they'll fix it, we can only guess. I'm sure peoples' motivations were those skills, like how Dragon strike was my motivation to make a Buccaneer. The thing is, people can choose when to start or stop a character, so my suggestion was simply either get to 120 and stop and wait it out OR continue on with a not-so-mainstream build and enjoy what you have available :) Hell you could wait till they do fix this thing and then make one. I dont care what you do since it's your way to play the game, I just added my opinion :)

it is annoying, however we need snipe to put our dps on 4th. it is true marksmen should be 4th dps on paper, sadly that is not true. the reason being that snipe cooldown is messed up. i dont dislike MM, i like it and i am just annoyed by the fact that glitches make me much weaker than i should be, if marksmen worked properly i would not complain about being weaker than 3-4 other classes howver now i stand at aboyt 75% what my real power should be. i could have made a sair, but i rather be a MM simple cuz i like my class EVEN when it is plaged by glitches and blessed with suck.

puppet glitch was a very old 2006 glitch that came with 3rd job and that had the peculiarity that aftr casting puppet an archer would see a MISS on hios head yet take full touch or magic damage or see a number and not take damage. keep in mind this was before auto pot so it pretty much meant you had to pot after each touch on high level places danger of death if you saw a MISS and took damage from lets say a DT or a squid. hell i was so used to it that even after they fixed it took me a few weeks to get used to actually trusting the MISS on my head.

MB was a glitch that we got when the 4th job patch happened. it for some reason i dont know made it that whenever an archer accidentally or intentionally activated MB he disconected. quite the annoying glitch for things like zakum back then.

I understand your frustration with this issue. Bug fixing doesn’t happen in one broad stroke, but instead involves a lot of the people working together. That’s why I’m here today to let you, the community of Maplers know that when you raise a valid issue it doesn’t go unnoticed. We do read the forums and note the issues. I'll check and then proceed too lvl up too 121 while doing the quest :D and then check it out (120 93.70%). At the moment I'm going 120: 1+ elemental boost 1+ air strike 1+wrath of the octipi 121: 1+ battleship 1+battleship cannon 1+ battleship torpedo proceed too max cannon if it comes :( then 21 torpedo 1 hypnotize and 20 bullseye. Thoughts :D? And 6 hours is a long time so who knows :D? I've also heard that some beholder skill of DrK's was glitched and snatch for buccaneers so that'll up skill quests on the importance scale

Follows a pretty standard build, seems fine to me. I actually like Hypnotize (though I wouldn't want more than level 1...) because it un-aggros mobs, and sometimes glitches. By glitch, I mean, the monster controlled sometimes becomes invincible and stays under your control forever; the only catch is that they stand in place, but still use magic.

In any case, I usually Hyp a stray mob, since it'd be a waste trying to kill a single skele. If hyp doesn't work once, then I move on, because it's not work hitting it over and over until it gets under my control. If it does get hit, I simply move on to other mobs. By the time I get back down, I most likely have a nice mob formed for me to kill.

It hasn't even been 2 months yet (I think). A real 5 month old glitch was the Captain Latanica glitch.

Still too long either way. This should've been fixed. It's not like it's hard. There's obviously little to no communication between who answers the tickets/complaints and who fixes the games. That or they're just lazy/slow/stupid/etc.

Nexon takes BBB complaints much more seriously. It's sad, really.

I refiled because they shot my first one down for being a problem that couldn't be mediated. I suppose I wasn't specific enough. I will keep refiling complaints until they post one if I have to. Serious issue of product quality/repair issues that is going ignored and we all know it doesn't take much to fix a few lines of code.

I'm not just trying to help everyone else out, I'd like this to be working by the time I get to 120, too. ;~;

Bug Fixes!
· To fix loss of functionality to the keyboard, press the keys Alt and Control on both sides of the keyboard twice.
· Battleship Cannon skill can now be trained.
· The hydrants for the warrior quest, Drought in Perion, are back.
· Dirty Treasure map can now be removed from your inventory by talking to Jack in the Nautilus.
