Well, what are you considering to be "old alternative rock bands" ?

A short list of popular ones would include We The Kings, All Time Low, Panic!, FOB, and I guess Cobra Starship?

Thank you google. I've heard of those bands except for We the Kings and All Time Low.

@xkatiie Mainly bands that debuted in the late 80's/ early to mid 90's. Thats like the only era of rock I'm familiar with.

Hmm. Silverchair, Stone Temple Pilots, 3 Doors Down, Third Eye Blind, Fuel, Lit, ... I'll edit soon and add more, I gotta check out my music :) Eek, these might be older, I'm not sure :(

I hope these fit that category. I'm pretty bad at telling the difference

I'll just list some alternative rock bands:
My Chemical Romance
Taking Back Sunday
Mindless Self Indulgence
Leathermouth (screaming though)

That's all I can think of atm...my brain is sort of dead lol.

MSI isn't alternative. They are industrial, I doubt he would like them if he likes bands similar to We The Kings.

I have about 8 days worth of music on my iPod, and about 7 days of it is purely Alternative/Screamo/Hardcore. If you need more bands, just PM me or something. The way I get a lot of music is just go to whatever way you get music (what?, iTunes, whatever) and look for a band that you are certain you like the sound of and look for similar artists.

I love what for that reason :)

My dad's been into music his whole life and worked for like Virgin megastores, SecondSpin, Licorice pizza back in the day, so I know just about everything about every genre of music, Besides Country and Opera and Screamo/Emo.
