4th Job Information

I'm still painfully limited on my 4th job Aran stuff. Can someone answer the following questions for me:


Which skills do you get upon advancing?
Out of these, which one needs quests?
I know some skillbooks drop from zakum, are there quests you need to do in order for them to drop?
What is the 4th job advancement like? Does anyone have an SS's of it?
What would be considered the end-game pole arm? A Purple Surfboard? If you're unable to get that, how high of a Diesra would need to be scrolled?
How is Arans control during bigger bosses? (HT and PB)
Does HT's seduce mess with Combo Barrier?
Can someone give me a full bossing 4th job build?
Can Arans BF effectively?
How many times does one need to HP wash to effectively boss?
How fast does an Aran level, and where is the best place to train?

Out of these, which one needs quests? (Maple Hero)
I know some skillbooks drop from zakum, are there quests you need to do in order for them to drop? (Not that I know of)
What is the 4th job advancement like? Does anyone have an SS's of it? (Easy. That's all I can say. It waskilling the polearm guy and that was it, iirc.)
What would be considered the end-game pole arm? A Purple Surfboard? If you're unable to get that, how high of a Diesra would need to be scrolled? (Skipping)
How is Arans control during bigger bosses? (HT and PB) (Skipping)

There's no way a reverse weapon would be a good end game for you. IIRC, its speed is Slower, so basically it throws your DPM down the toilet. We'll hopefully get a surfboard event, and if we don't I'd suggest something like an Arcglaive or really godly Karstan for end-game.

Oh man, Arcglaives are gonna be expensive...

But wouldn't the level 110 Pole Arm also be good, considering it's Slow, not Slower?

It's slow (8), I think the reverse has the same speed but I'm not 100% sure.

You can get an arcglaive yourself if you have the patience to get 500 crimson woods. (or buy them for ~100k each at the FM)

What about Super Snowboards? They have a Fast attack speed, have 85 W.Atk, and the level requirement is only 50. Perfect, imo.

When I checked the MTS just now they only had about 68-74att clean o.o

I highly doubt that the speed difference will utterly wreck you.

Super Snowboards Mag Att is higher so he probably confused the 85 with mag att.

I looked on Basil. It says it's level 70 and has 85 att and 85 mag att...I dunno if thats right though.. Just throwing it in there.

I can't access MS at the moment otherwise I'd go look in MTS ^^;

I'm thinking of aiming for a decent Karstan, or a Red or Purple Surfboard... Depends which I can find..

I highly doubt that the speed difference will utterly wreck you.

I hate slow attacking, it makes the game less fun for me and does severely cut down DPM. It was something like a 12% damage reduction from speed 6- speed 8. Not only that, but it slows down combo charging somewhat. It's just not really worth it to use a slow speed weapon unless it's godly.
A 100 attack Karstan will be better than a 120 attack slow speed weapon as long as you are using an attack potion, considering 1.12xYour TOTAL weapon attack is what you get from it compared to a slow speed weapon. Hell, a mere 150 total weapon attack is enough to put them near even, which even I will obtain, considering the 35 accuracy is worth around 7 attack.
