I don't use that site but my friends told me my real life friend(they recognize her from my myspace) is being ridiculed there.

For some reason the internet is working fine for me but I get an error message every time I try to go there.

This is the link I am using:

This is the error message:
Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at img.4chan.org.

* Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of
www.example.com

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Maybe it's down.

I would advise that you edit the link out, since /b/ can be a host to some very nasty images when it's up.

Yeah, basically any image at all might show up on /b/. Things like child porn tend to get knocked out without much difficulty, but other things which are not illegal stay without trouble. The worst things imaginable even. Shitting dick nipples comes immediately to mind.

And is 4chan still down? I heard it was down like 2 weeks ago or something.

Did this friend of yours actually say "4chan's /b/"? Other chan websites have /b/ boards as well...

I used to be a /b/tard heavily but I kinda veered away after 90% of the posts were recycled shit, gore, cock pics, etc etc...things that the normal-minded don't care about and the simple minded think makes them look "cool". Then again, every now and then there's some serious epic win going on, and it makes me remember why I go there.

However, it seems 4chan is, in fact, still down.

The Cancer That Is Killing /B/ has finally caused a lethal stroke. The civilized world was waiting for this moment.

The world will now fill with cheerful golden flowers and kittens meowing. I've drunk a few shots of vodka in celebration.

We're currently having issues with one of our DNS servers, which happens to be the only working DNS server. Unfortunately the site might appear down for you depending on your ISP's DNS cache freshness.

I don't visit 4chan, but two days algo I went there for the lulz and /b/ was there, try refreshing the site I don't know much, hope this helps!

Encyclopedia Dramatica is currently in danger of being shut down due to insufficient funds.... or maybe a lawsuit. I find this particularly lulzy because 4chan, which is most likely responsible for ED's existence, is also having problems.

People are spamming the host info for 4chan at 7chan's /b/. The server for 4chan is still going alright, it's just impossible to connect to the site if you don't have the IP.

I have a feeling they're doing this on purpose as chemo.

Honestly, to clean up /b/ you'd have to physically disinfect the servers it's placed in. I don't know if information can cause corrosion or disease, but if that were possible, /b/ would get the job done.

This reminds me of the time Cjayc blocked access to the LUE.
Everyone will just find somewhere new to go.

Pass the booze, the internet can finally begin to heal, and this is cause for celebration!

This isn't a good thing for anyone but the oldfags still stationed at 4chan. It's better to keep cancer contained rather than forcing it to spread elsewhere.

/b/ has become a breeding ground for suffering and injustice. It is beyond saving and must be allowed to die.

They could just go the secret squirrel route and create a surrogate /b/, that would be the classic /b/ in spirit, but not in name. Invisible secret board.

I was going to get them for you off of 7chan, since i was sure folks were still spamming.

But look:

I'm sure the information is somewhere though. Checking ED's 4chan entry indicates that people may be posting the information there, but it is being suppressed as well. Try taking a gander through the history, that's where I would start. It looks as though part of the suppression they're undertaking is that some people are posting fake IPs. I suggest being very wary of these sorts of things before editing your host file.

It seems to be more trouble than its worth.

I was just worried about my rl-friend, I was told by my e-friends that people have been spamming her picture at /b/ for a while.

The hell are you going to do once you see it? Be a fantastic hero and call the cops or ask them to stop politely? It's no use. You can't do anything now.

Its curiosity.

Kinda like Luelinks... which doesn't exist.

Lulz, LueLinks. "The place that doesn't exist." Anyways, there are other /b/ boards out there that replicate 4chan's /b/.

4chan was never down, they had a recent error with their DNS server so if your cache hasn't refreshed it looks down. It'' magically exist for everyone within a few days without doing anything >_>
