My computer keeps on freezing up. I'm 99.9% sure i dont have viruses as i scan daily an visit only a few websites. MY computer is 3+ years old, a toshiba satelite with a 1.66 ghz intel dual core processor an 1 gig of RAM. I think the issue is that it overheats as it gets EXTREMELY HOT. How do i fix this?
BTW, i havent been exactly taking the best care of it.
Please help :(

You're gunna need to give more details than that. ;x
Does it unfreeze if you leave it?
Does it respond if you pull up the task manager?
Does it make funky sounds?
Does the graphics on the screen look like the staticky stuff on tv?
Did you hit the power button or pull the power cord to "undo" the freeze?
etc.

Extremely hot? :f6: Sounds like a serious cooling problem to me. Even if it's not the cause of your freezing, it's still something that you should fix. Get a can of compressed air and try to blow dust out of the fan. If that doesn't work, then look up a disassembly guide for your laptop model on Google, so you can take off the fan cover and clean it easier that way. Just be careful when you do it. ;o
