Ok, let's do this... I always thought that the Geist Balrog was a very original idea for a boss, and I wondered what could be done like this... with the limits the monster data gives us. I've had a nice idea of a boss from some time ago around my head, and I think I managed a way to make it be possible.
First of all, let me introduce a new area idea: THE CAVE OF INSANITY.
The catch is that it's a total labyrinth, with RANDOM paths, in which you need to click on NPCs, and them leading you to random maps, even with the risk of appearing in a random recreation of a map outside the cave... OR the real map, outside of it FOR REAL, with you only noticing that after you moved to the next map... and you realize you are in the real El Nath, for example. The zone would be like the Subspace in Smash Bros Brawl, if you played it, exect for the mimic maps, and the first maps, where it's still a normal cave, before the transition.
So, focusing on Smash Bros, I remembered Tabuu, the final boss of the Subspace emisary... And I thought it'd be wonderful to have something like that. SO! I made up something to make it kinda similar. And here it is:
THE SANITY EATER.

Disclaimer: Imagine yourself any other thing that could fit the place, or ignore my poor skills on paint :p
This guy created the ilusion of this place, along with the random warps, and since he masters the teleport ability, he'll be using it all the time to fight you. BUT NOT LIKE THE GEIST BALROG.
To begin with, the map is totally flat ("Subspace" kind, to fit the insanity), and as big as Zakum's, without platforms, or anything. You see, his walking animation is... BLANK. You can't attack it, have bump damage, or even see it, while it walks, and it has an insane moving speed. But then... how to attack it? Easy. When he attacks. You'll need SKILL to beat this guy. He'll be attacking at a high rate, so careful... Also, he doesn't usually cover his back... So, let's see his attacks: (Note that there may be a limit on the number of skills a monster can have. If it has a limit, it could handle many forms, to make it possible to have them all, since he uses them depending on his hp left)
Also, most of the attacks follow the same routine: He stands there for some seconds, and then, releases his attack, after which, he stands a second, or so, and teleports (animation at the end of the attack for the teleport). Also, he doesn't have bump damage, to prevent ridiculous spawn deaths.
1. Taunt. (20%-100% hp left) Yes, he stares at you arrogantly for some seconds. Doesn't do anything, but you can attack him! GO GET HIM! Note that when he sees he's loosing, he'll take the last bit of the fight seriously, and stop to taunt...
2. Summons-round 1 (80%-100% hp left). He summons some little minions. These are like shadow creatures walking kinda slowly. Easy to whipe out.
3. Normal slash. (all fight) Normal attack, not too strong, but the unavoidable kind. Hits behind him, too.
4. Charge. (all fight) After standing there for some seconds, he then SLAMS over whoever is in front of it. Epic knockback, sending everyone to the other side of the room, and if unlucky, getting stunned for a bit.
5. Seal. (all fight) He'll seal everyone in front of him at a 100% rate, but not the back... He then laughs, and teleports.
6. Blind. (all fight) He'll put in darkness everyone BEHIND him at a 100% rate, after turning to them. He'll laugh, and teleport.
7. Whirpool (0%-80% hp left) All people standing far from it will be epicly knockbacked TOWARDS him, dealing a nice effect with the confused players, which will be stunned at a 100% rate. People close enough will remain intact... So warriors can beat the crap outa him then.
8. Summons-round 2 (50%-75% hp left). Summons slightly more powerful monsters, Still shadow like.
9. Dispel (0%-70%) What's a boss without dispel? :p This one has a catch, though, since he'll stay around just one second before casting it, dissapearing immediately after.
10. Energy field (0%-60%) He makes some kind of energy field (graphically, this could be hard, since the cloud may not handle animations) that acts like a poison cloud, but thunder based. It drains hp at the rate of 2000 every second, while in there. It lasts for around 3 seconds, so ranged people can be delighted there.
11. Death ray. (5%-50%) This is the worst attack you can face. Imagine Pianus' Shoop Da Whoop... but dealing around 85k, and crossing the WHOLE map. That's right, get hit, go to hell. The catch is that he'll use this very uncommonly, and that it takes around 10 seconds to fully charge. During that time, you can beat the crap out of him... BUT! YOU MUST DODGE IT! How? Just press down ;) When he's low on health, he'll stop using it.
12. Summon-round 3 (0%-45% hp left): He'll summon... HIMSELF! Well, a copy of him, anyways. He deals lower damage, and has ridiculously low hp, but it can annoy when you can't tell which's the real one... this skill is used rarely, too.
13. Confusion. (0%-45% hp left): Remember the ariant coliseum state? Reverse controls? Let's have a bit of fun... :D
15. Madness hit (10%-30% hp left): marks on the floor... You better avoid what's gonna hit them...: They seduce you, and you don't want to taste the death ray while that's happening...
16. Last will (0%-5% hp left): If it's possible, you can have a 10% chance of getting stunned, a 20% chance of getting reverse controls, and a 40% chance of getting seduced (baing able for them to stack), unavoidable, and ranged to the whole map. Don't worry, though, since he's too weak to cast the death ray by now. If those effects are impossible to be added together, simply seduce at a 80% rate.
If you get the idea in your head, this boss should be able to teleport around, make players move all the time, and stay alert all the fight. (Also, after the fight, the next map is a normal cave map, after defeating the mastermind of it all... the idea is that it's gone for now)
I'm not into the terms of level, hp, rewards, etc, since that depends on many more things than the boss itself.
Ok, I'm done. If you are still alive after reading all this, thanks! and if you know the mechanics of the bosses/monsters, I'd be more glad than anyone on modifying it so it fits the possibility of making it at some point. (Nexon, read this... D:)
