Ok, let's do this... I always thought that the Geist Balrog was a very original idea for a boss, and I wondered what could be done like this... with the limits the monster data gives us. I've had a nice idea of a boss from some time ago around my head, and I think I managed a way to make it be possible.

First of all, let me introduce a new area idea: THE CAVE OF INSANITY.

The catch is that it's a total labyrinth, with RANDOM paths, in which you need to click on NPCs, and them leading you to random maps, even with the risk of appearing in a random recreation of a map outside the cave... OR the real map, outside of it FOR REAL, with you only noticing that after you moved to the next map... and you realize you are in the real El Nath, for example. The zone would be like the Subspace in Smash Bros Brawl, if you played it, exect for the mimic maps, and the first maps, where it's still a normal cave, before the transition.

So, focusing on Smash Bros, I remembered Tabuu, the final boss of the Subspace emisary... And I thought it'd be wonderful to have something like that. SO! I made up something to make it kinda similar. And here it is:

THE SANITY EATER.

Disclaimer: Imagine yourself any other thing that could fit the place, or ignore my poor skills on paint :p

This guy created the ilusion of this place, along with the random warps, and since he masters the teleport ability, he'll be using it all the time to fight you. BUT NOT LIKE THE GEIST BALROG.

To begin with, the map is totally flat ("Subspace" kind, to fit the insanity), and as big as Zakum's, without platforms, or anything. You see, his walking animation is... BLANK. You can't attack it, have bump damage, or even see it, while it walks, and it has an insane moving speed. But then... how to attack it? Easy. When he attacks. You'll need SKILL to beat this guy. He'll be attacking at a high rate, so careful... Also, he doesn't usually cover his back... So, let's see his attacks: (Note that there may be a limit on the number of skills a monster can have. If it has a limit, it could handle many forms, to make it possible to have them all, since he uses them depending on his hp left)

Also, most of the attacks follow the same routine: He stands there for some seconds, and then, releases his attack, after which, he stands a second, or so, and teleports (animation at the end of the attack for the teleport). Also, he doesn't have bump damage, to prevent ridiculous spawn deaths.

1. Taunt. (20%-100% hp left) Yes, he stares at you arrogantly for some seconds. Doesn't do anything, but you can attack him! GO GET HIM! Note that when he sees he's loosing, he'll take the last bit of the fight seriously, and stop to taunt...

2. Summons-round 1 (80%-100% hp left). He summons some little minions. These are like shadow creatures walking kinda slowly. Easy to whipe out.

3. Normal slash. (all fight) Normal attack, not too strong, but the unavoidable kind. Hits behind him, too.

4. Charge. (all fight) After standing there for some seconds, he then SLAMS over whoever is in front of it. Epic knockback, sending everyone to the other side of the room, and if unlucky, getting stunned for a bit.

5. Seal. (all fight) He'll seal everyone in front of him at a 100% rate, but not the back... He then laughs, and teleports.

6. Blind. (all fight) He'll put in darkness everyone BEHIND him at a 100% rate, after turning to them. He'll laugh, and teleport.

7. Whirpool (0%-80% hp left) All people standing far from it will be epicly knockbacked TOWARDS him, dealing a nice effect with the confused players, which will be stunned at a 100% rate. People close enough will remain intact... So warriors can beat the crap outa him then.

8. Summons-round 2 (50%-75% hp left). Summons slightly more powerful monsters, Still shadow like.

9. Dispel (0%-70%) What's a boss without dispel? :p This one has a catch, though, since he'll stay around just one second before casting it, dissapearing immediately after.

10. Energy field (0%-60%) He makes some kind of energy field (graphically, this could be hard, since the cloud may not handle animations) that acts like a poison cloud, but thunder based. It drains hp at the rate of 2000 every second, while in there. It lasts for around 3 seconds, so ranged people can be delighted there.

11. Death ray. (5%-50%) This is the worst attack you can face. Imagine Pianus' Shoop Da Whoop... but dealing around 85k, and crossing the WHOLE map. That's right, get hit, go to hell. The catch is that he'll use this very uncommonly, and that it takes around 10 seconds to fully charge. During that time, you can beat the crap out of him... BUT! YOU MUST DODGE IT! How? Just press down ;) When he's low on health, he'll stop using it.

12. Summon-round 3 (0%-45% hp left): He'll summon... HIMSELF! Well, a copy of him, anyways. He deals lower damage, and has ridiculously low hp, but it can annoy when you can't tell which's the real one... this skill is used rarely, too.

13. Confusion. (0%-45% hp left): Remember the ariant coliseum state? Reverse controls? Let's have a bit of fun... :D

15. Madness hit (10%-30% hp left): marks on the floor... You better avoid what's gonna hit them...: They seduce you, and you don't want to taste the death ray while that's happening...

16. Last will (0%-5% hp left): If it's possible, you can have a 10% chance of getting stunned, a 20% chance of getting reverse controls, and a 40% chance of getting seduced (baing able for them to stack), unavoidable, and ranged to the whole map. Don't worry, though, since he's too weak to cast the death ray by now. If those effects are impossible to be added together, simply seduce at a 80% rate.

If you get the idea in your head, this boss should be able to teleport around, make players move all the time, and stay alert all the fight. (Also, after the fight, the next map is a normal cave map, after defeating the mastermind of it all... the idea is that it's gone for now)

I'm not into the terms of level, hp, rewards, etc, since that depends on many more things than the boss itself.

Ok, I'm done. If you are still alive after reading all this, thanks! and if you know the mechanics of the bosses/monsters, I'd be more glad than anyone on modifying it so it fits the possibility of making it at some point. (Nexon, read this... D:)

You like SSBB a bit too much, eh?

Anyways, decent idea. How high is the knockback rate (probably 0% chance knockback, just asking)?

Also, how much is the touch damage?

Nice skills! the only problem is that i think the head looks like a Gray, rather than anything in CWK.

Oh, the boss is only being able to be hit while it's attacking, so it's pretty much useless to kb it. Therefore, no particular KB... Something like 500k :p

And I said it has no bump damage... Could be tweaked, though.

oops... Can't edit that, though, I think...

That's why I said imagine something else XD. And it doesn't need to be from CWK, but a different expansion...

Imagine the Grays want to drive humans insane XD

Actually, it was the easiest shape I could come up with, to do a quick drawing. Just replace it with any hovering-like thing, or a Tabuu ripoff XD

LoL. I had a similar idea a while back, but I never invented that many attacks.

My idea was that you'd have a cave map with tunnels cut off from each other. To give you an idea of the size of each tunnel, the space of the tunnel isn't tall enough for you to jump, but you can still move horizontally. Each person would occupy a tunnel, and in the middle of each tunnel is a teleport spot that brings you to another tunnel.

The worm like thing (I'm thinking of the Snowager from Neopets) would burrow through the tunnels. When it first appears in your part of the tunnel, it will do 1/1 then run through your section of the tunnel and run across the screen rapidly and then teleport to the next tunnel. It does a touch damage of about 2K and stuns/dispels upon touch.

To fight this, the party must spread out between tunnels. There are a total of 24 tunnels in the map, which means up to four parties can fight it. Parties will take tunnels close to each other. When everyone is ready, have one person summon it by dropping an ect into the ground. It will then appear and begin moving about the map.

When it appears in your tunnel, heal and then spam whatever move you have (or die when it runs across you with its touch damage). It would help if you had a summon, because the summon would be able to attack immediately. After healing, spam whatever, SoA, Triple Throw, Combo attack helps too, ect. A mage using an ultimate would be able to hit the worm in a different part of the tunnel.

It's KB is maxed damage, so only people using Combo charge and mages will be able to KB it, but not keep it under constant KB. Since the monster stuns upon touch and won't be kept under constant KB, two bishops are needed so that in case one is stunned, the other can help.

Sorry for using your thread as space to write this.

Edit: Hehe, the monster doesn't need to teleport. It'd just move through the wall and disappear into a different part of the map. The point of this boss is to give the 'nonbossing' classes in MS a chance to shine at a boss. These classes are: Mages, Shadowers, and Snipers.

The ideal party to fight my boss would be to get some mages continually spamming their ultimates to hit the worm if they see the worm in the map (not necessarily in your part of the tunnel).

Shadowers can do charged assassinate and then a Bstep when the worm appears in their part of the tunnel, something they can't do at a normal boss.

Snipers can KB the boss when it first appears, pot, then hit it again with Straffe for pretty decent damage.

Heros can use their Charged combo when the worm hits his section of the map, KB the worm, then have time for a final blow before their stunned.

Since this monster is elemental, Paladins will have a chance to shine.

For DKs, they'll maximize their attack by rushing the monster (but the monster will still rush through the map). After avoiding the touch damage of the monster, they can turn around and use crusher. And of course, when its not in their part of the tunnel, they can use roar.

Sorry NLs and BMs. They're kinda screwed. All they can do at this boss is spam Hurricane or use Triple Throw for one second before they're touched.

Since this is the case, they can only be fighting if they're multiple shadowers in their party.

So the party distribution would be like this:
Party 1
shadower
shadower
shadower
bishop
NL
BM
The shadowers will cast smokescreen for the NL and the BM, so they can keep hurricane and triple throw up when the worm comes around. The bishop will be in a separate part of the map spamming Genesis until the worm goes into the NL/BM portion. The bishop will quickly heal and then continue to spam genesis.

Party 2-3
DK
Mage/Bishop
Mage/Bishop
Mage/Bishop
Mage/Bishop
Bishop
Again, the bishop will be spamming Genesis until someone needs heal, they'll quickly heal, and then they'll continue spamming Genesis. The Mage will be spamming Blizzard/Meteo. The DK is there to save the mage's pots, and will HB the Mages when they get dispelled from the touch.

Party 4
Warrior
Warrior
Warrior
Warrior
Sniper
Bishop
The sniper will stay with all the warriors in one tunnel while the bishop is at a different tunnel. When sniped, the worm will be KBed, the warriors can KB them again and by using charged combo and keep it under constant KB. As the worm is under KB from the warriors charges, the Sniper can snipe the worm again for the final KB and then the worm will rush across the map and stun/dispel all the warriors/snipers. The bishop will then heal them.

This boss will be fun and challenging at the same time, and give a chance to nonbossers to boss.

When the boss dies, it will seduce everyone, then drop an equip in every one of the tunnels. GL picking up the drops? xD

Oh, no problem XD

The only problem I find is that I don't think that monsters can use the teleports... If there's any way to fix that, it'd be a wonderful boss, though.

By teleports I think he means like Giest ron style. But I'm not sure. =\

Versal? or maybe Foxwit's Den or Krakia.

He should be weak to ice and fire or something like that to make arch mages (and maybe paladins?) more wanted for the battle. Also, if you make some of the attacks not hit attackers that are very close to it, that would be good for close-range attackers.

(It's labyrinth, not laberinth, and shouldn't this be in the MapleAdditions section?)

Yeah, there'd be far ranged, and short ranged, to combine both, and about the elemental stuff, yeah, it's part of extra tweaking. And sorry about the typos, I'm spanish and I sometimes slip at those D:

I always imagined it as a cave somewhere around Masteria, maybe in the mountains. Just because it's the best place to add odd stuff. But I don't really mind the place at all. Just the insides.

EDIT: Thanks to anyone who changed the typo on "prototype" XD

Nice edits with paint though, I can see a lot of effort in that.
