Does this happen to anyone else?

Whenever I clear dungeons lately I don't get bonus EXP from being in the custom channel. Instead the blue circle under the rank letter keeps spinning for about 10 seconds until the rewards show up. Hard to capture in a picture, but yeah...in this screen shot I AM in a Sky Tower channel, but I received no bonus EXP for it.

Yeah, it happens to everyone. It started to happen two patches ago. It never used to. You do still get all the exp, though. If you check your chat log, it will show you the total'd (true) amount you earned.

Or maybe it just happens in all dungeons after Sky Tower? I don't know. It was working in Grand Flores still?

It did work when I was in Grand Flores. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't being gipped out of EXP.

It happens in everything but Grand Flores. I've learned not to trust the exp screen. They don't know math. 41+46-9=85? What?

The -9 is just how many times you got hit, not necessarily how many points you lose due to your hit count.

Yeah i was worrying about it too... my exp not counting while being on sky tower channel... the chat does give you the right prize exp though.


About the hit: I though it was just like that... Tech point + Style point - Hit points

It's probably closer to Tech + Style - (Hit * 0.25) if you're going solo. The formula is different for Hit while in parties, probably 0.125 instead of 0.25.

I think this is how it is:

SSS = 105
SS = 95
S = 85
A = 80
B = 75
C = 70
E = 65
F = 60

Number of rooms cleared matters into how much score Hits take off. I remember getting 30+ hits on some runs in 1st Spine (16 rooms) and still getting SS rank with 85% style and 68% tech. On the other hand, Frozenheart (2 rooms) with 15 hits and an ungodly style/tech score got me an F.

It's been happening to me, too. Basically it doesn't happen in Elvenguard and Grand Flores. You still get full EXP, though.

On a slightly unrelated note, is anyone else's screen freezing/dying when you die or run out of MP? I can't really describe it, but this only happens when the screen is set to what it usually is (with the full HUD). If I tab out - as in, press Tab to change how the screen looks - it goes back to normal.

It has to do with wearing avatar items iirc. You're supposed to get bonus exp for them, but it isn't in effect yet, hence the screwup.
