View Full Version : The International Audience
Many of our users are from outside of English-speaking countries with most of them being from Mexico, Netherlands, and Israel. For this reason, I have decided to add new language packs for vBulletin. The following language packs have been added --> Español, Nederlands, and Hebrew.
Granted, these language packs are not perfect and there are a few kinks in them. I will try to work these out over the coming weeks. If you'd like to submit a translation, just let me know where the translation needs to go and the phrase and I can put it in.
This forum is still an English forum. The addition of these language packs does not change that. Please speak in English.
How to change your language:
1. Click on User CP
2. Under "Settings & Options" click on "Edit Options"
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Change "English (US)" to the language of your choice.
4. Click "Save".
O_o I suppose this is a good addition?

Aww, how nice! This will certainly make those here who are from other countries feel a little more at-ease when browsing the forums :)

I was wondering why my buttons were in a language that wasn't English for a while there. I figured it was some silly joke like the whole pineapple thing. I guess the forum default had shifted when these were installed and English wasn't set as the default right away.

Thank you, Fiel.
Since some users (like me - not a lot of them, tho) are from Italy, mind adding italian?

1% of the total forum population is the benchmark. Go above this amount, and I'd be happy to do it.

Dang, didn't know there that that much concentration of international people. Really thoughtful thing to do though. :P It makes people feel more welcome and a little more secure about what they're doing.
I ca say this because I'm a native English speaker, but I live in Mexico. I can handle Spanish just fine and all, but since English's my native lenguage, it makes things easier for me and makes me feel a little more comfortable. :P

I second that or at least force people to type out their words >:D.
Anyway, great addition, it will come in handy when I need to practice Spanish xD.

Many of the buttons are part of the skin itself, so I can't translate everything. I'll put your translations in though.
Also, the board names and descriptions are hard-coded. Can't translate those.

Wow that's pretty cool. I'm in the process of learning Hebrew and Spanish. I just may have to change things up a bit =)

Ah, didn't know that. I'll still put some if. If I come across some that aren't any of those I'll tell you.
I read your post too late and updated my other one ;x. I'll leave them there in case you want anything with them.

On the default language the report description is in Spanish.
Nota: Esto SOLAMENTE debe usarse para reportar spam, publicidad y posts problemáticos (ej. insultantes, agresivos, que inicien una pelea).
El reporte llegará al moderador del foro quien lo atenderá apropiadamente.

"Reportar Mensajes" is to report them, not to remove.
"Todos" is not a word in Spanish. It's already talking about all, everything, so why make it plural?
The other two are right, I misspelled "Reciente" and the other can go either way. Thanks for the corrections.

Actually Todos does exist. In my 4 years of spanish school, when my teacher reffered to our class she'd be like "Todos vosotros" so I assumed it does. In spanish there's a plural and singular for almost anything, even for the word Everything. It is grammatically incorrect to say Todo when you reffer to a plural object. Eg : Todos los pueblos is correct, Todo los pueblos, isn't.

todos somos amigos.
todos tus mensajes son spam.
todos los cocos estan maduros.
todo means all in general, but todos means all when it is a finite number.

Haha, yes :P!
But yeah, Todo and Todos are the only case in which this particular grammatical rule applies.
Ah, I was blind and didn't see it said Unnaprove at Reporbar. Sorry :P
Edit : You did misspell unapprove tho, It's reprobar, according to Rae.es, I just saw it myself too.
All of the submitted corrections have been utilized.

Honestly, I was surprised when I searched "todos" in the dictionary, it told me it didn't exist and it made sense. There's no problem with it, though. They both are correct, like XBish said.
I do make a lot of spelling errors, because there's no spellcheck for Spanish. : P
Pero bueno pues, chida compillas. Ahi se wachan.

I tried out some stuff with that dictionary; It doesn't give you plural forms, like entering Dioses which mean gods said the word didn't exist. It's the dictionary, mainly because most of them don't put plural forms into the word database.
"Pero bueno pues, chida compillas. Ahi se wachan.
And what does that last sentence mean? I've never heard that in my whole life. :f6:
I'm dutch but I'm definatly keeping it english. Thanks though, mista Fiel. :shine:

It's slang. Chida is like cool, compillas is short for compañero, and wachan is watch; used it like see ya later.
By the way, good job implementing this language thing. I don't use it much, because I prefer English. But it'll definitely benefit many people out there. : P
if you need any help with spanish spelling and slangs, i'd be more than happy to help. just let me know how...

What does Bericht mean? Because when I put my mouse over a post in the "Topic Review" it says Bericht [Post #]. I suppose it means post? You might want to fix that considering I'm in the "English" mode...

Yes, Bericht in dutch means posts(literally message). Several translation mixups/bugs can be found throughout the forum, I've yet to find more than 2. Including this one.
Question for Fiel/any other Admin : What's the difference between English (US) and predetermined? Seeing as they're both there, I thought there must be some difference.

There's no difference. Predetermined just means the default that this forum uses, and English just means well.... English.
