So, my best friend is quitting. I don't know him IRL, so it's really hard for me. I met him Christmas of 06, and we've never had any really bad times. He told me that he was quitting a month in advance. I gave him all the goodbyes I could, lots of love (friend love, don't be sick), NX to enjoy the last month of his stay. He told me, hey, let's have an adventure for my last month. We restarted our characters, hence why I'm a level 5x even though I've been playing since beta. We had a real good time, playing, merchanting, PQing, grinding with each other up until it was time for him to go. For a last goodbye, I took him on a Mushmom hunt. Well, it was a ZMM hunt at first but we decided to take on MM instead. Anyway, he had never killed a boss and was going to have fun, I could tell.

That was, until some fire mage came in an KSed us. We found a channel to ourselves and camped out. A fire mage comes, and wow, perfect timing! A mush mom spawns, and he 2hKOs it. He CCs before we can even look at his fame level. We went on a frantic CCing race, and in every channel, he KSed us. We weren't even following him, he was following us! By then, we couldn't wait until he logged off and then mushmom, because it was time for my friend to go to sleep and never log back on. So of course, a fire mage ruins our entire evening together before he quits forever. I was also recording the hunt and other things with my friend for a video. He completely ruined it. Now it seems like, despite all my efforts, my friend's two years of playing have come to an end in one night, and that night was a display of the cruelty of Maplers, not a fun goodbye betwen him and me.

That's all I can say. I'm sad, and I miss him a lot, and I'm pissed that a mediocre fire mage ruined a sad, but somehow happy, night. KSers are the scum of the Maple world, and I wish Nexon would do something about them. They can ruin grinding, sure, but ruining a friendship's perfect end is something entirely different and one hundred times worse.

Ah... pineappling douche bags.

Well, that made me LOL a bit. :D But, Maple is addictive. And fun. D:

Speaking of which, would should my excuse be to my dad when he realizes I haven't done my chores today? D:

Not really. We can say that illegal immigrants are taking jobs from residents. And let's not forget about sweatshop labor in foreign countries where companies only have to pay them like $0.50 an hour.

My solution to KSing has always been to keep a nice network of friends. I do not "use" my friends as weapons, but when you are friends with someone you will help them. I've been very lucky in that regard.

I do not think you need to part ways with your friend because he's quitting Maple. I quit Maple some time ago, but I am still in contact with many of the people I was friends with while playing it. Southperry is a good place. A former Maple player can keep in touch wiht you very easily here... and if he's got nothing better to do, he can talk about his good old days on the game.

If Southperry is not good for you, there's email, AIM, MSN, and phone. I have talked to people I met from Maple on the phone, there' snothing wrong with it. One of my friends from Maple is very very close to me, and we talk on the phone every day.

My point with all this is, you don't have to lose touch with your friend. Just be creative and persevere.

Scania right? I dont mind "escorting" and acting as a "bodyguard" at mushmom for you guys if you want (lol at the idea). I camped at mm for 40 minutes yesterday and everyone who showed up just left after seeing my level, lol. It sucks that you got ksed like that but mushmom is free for all. Anyone can kill it if they want to and I do find it unreasonable to ask someone to leave when they have the track already and whatnot but that's just me.

Yeah. I don't need a bodyguard or anything, it would waste your time. D: The other unfortunate thing is that a defense scroll dropped. Not worth much, but it's an easy 100k.

To Quantact: I realized I don't have to lose touch with him, but he already quit so... nothing I can do now. And friends wouldn't help much at mushmom especially, since it can be killed in 2 seconds and takes 45 minutes to respawn again. It's not even that great of a boss, but it was all he could kill other than ZMM.
